The investigative actions carried out by the green police inspectors of the ministry in close cooperation with the police officers of the Israel Police Coast Guard, raised the suspicion of receiving household waste at a transit station that is not authorized for this. These are offenses that are not limited to licensing alone, and the manner in which the waste is handled at the station raises the suspicion of criminal offences. The Green Police will continue to work together with all the officials of the Ministry and with the Israel Police to bring those involved to justice
On Wednesday, June 14.06.23, XNUMX, the Green Police of the Ministry of Environmental Protection went on an enforcement activity in cooperation with the officers of the Environmental Protection Section and the officers of the Coast Guard against a transfer station in Haifa, which is suspected of receiving the contents of trucks including household waste from Dalit al Carmel, contrary to the terms of its business license. The transit station is allowed, in accordance with the terms of the license, to receive and recycle dry waste, trimmings and construction waste only. It is suspected that at the transit station the household waste was mixed together with the building waste, contrary to the terms of the license and the law.
As part of the activity, 6 company employees were taken for questioning, including the company's CEO and the owner. In addition, 3 work tools used to commit the crimes were seized, as well as computers and materials that may constitute evidence of the illegal activity that took place at the station.
The overt activity began after covert activity, which included, among other things, observations by means of a drone for trucks leaving for the station from the direction of Dalit El Carmel. When the signal was given, the Green Police officers and Coast Guard officers burst into the station compound, stopped the work tools and detained some of the employees of the transit station for questioning.
The Green Police of the Ministry of Environmental Protection will continue to act against transit stations that violate the conditions of their business license and will use all the means at their disposal in order to eradicate the phenomenon, prevent waste hazards and protect the health of the public and the environment.
