(haipo) - As every year we celebrate Lag B'Omer with a lot of preparation and organization. Children, youth and adults gather to prepare the bonfire, collect wood, organize refreshments, and not to forget the marshmallows and potatoes and much more... fun, isn't it?
Aside from the joy and excitement of the holiday, there are those for whom Lag Ba'Omer may turn into a real night of mourning, in which they will be condemned to death in agony. Unfortunately, many are still not aware that Lag Ba'Omer is the emergency hour of the animal activists, who organize ahead of time in groups, with the aim of visiting and watch over the bonfire areas all over the country.

And why?
Well, at the same time as the preparations for the holiday bonfires, there are people, children and teenagers, who begin to systematically collect kittens and dogs, with the clear aim of committing one of the most horrific and shocking acts imaginable - throwing these innocent animals, while still alive, into the bonfire , and cause them to die a cruel death in excruciating agony.
What you heard: There are people who collect animal puppies for the purpose of horrendous abuse and torture.

And I ask: where is the education? where are the parents where are the teachers Why is there no education for compassion from a young age? An education that teaches children, from preschool age, to treat, love and protect animals.
The people of Israel, the Jewish people, consider themselves to be a people whose heart is full of mercy, compassion and kindness, but in light of such terrible cases that occur every year, without exception, these words sound empty of content and evoke, along with pain and sorrow, mainly bitter laughter.

We must guard and protect the helpless, those who cannot defend themselves, soft and helpless puppies who become victims of a cruel death for no injustice at their hands.
We must educate our children as well as the older ones. We have the responsibility to eradicate and erase such wicked customs from us and to completely disappear them from the next generation.
I am asking you, in every language of request, everyone who is in a bonfire or near bonfires - please, open your eyes, be alert, pay attention to what is happening around you, what is thrown into the bonfires, maybe you will save terrible suffering from some production, a living production that does not deserve this pain . Also note that sometimes the puppy's body will be wrapped in aluminum foil before throwing it into the fire.

If you notice something that seems suspicious to you, call the police quickly and immediately stop whoever is trying to harm the puppy until the police arrive.
You can have fun, you can be happy and sing by the fire, without harming the innocent. Let's do everything we can to stop this horrible practice once and for all.
The education system is also expected to act with all its might to educate the younger generation to compassion, in all institutions, starting from preschool age. And no less than that, the parents must back up the education on this topic and one hour before.

Ella Avin, chairman of the Noah Society for Animals:
"This year there is a ban on lighting bonfires due to the weather conditions and the danger of flammability, and we hope that this will also reduce the amount of suffering that will be caused to the unfortunate animals, who every year face the risk of abuse and suffering at the hands of teenagers and young people who for some reason choose to throw living creatures into the fire while they are alive. This is such abuse Cruel that causes such severe suffering, that words cannot describe. Everything must be done to prevent such things from happening. We call on the police and the municipality to increase patrols in the area, and we call on you, the residents, to join the patrols, so that we can protect as many helpless creatures as possible.
In case you notice children or teenagers walking around with kittens or dogs, or other small animals, document them and call the police immediately. Please, do everything to stop the cruelty to animals."

Ilana Leivski, member of the Executive Committee of the Cat Lovers' Association, member of the Committee for Animal Welfare (formerly) in the Haifa Municipality, member of the Trustees of the Ministry of the Environment:
"We, as animal rights activists, are well aware of the ugly and shocking phenomenon of throwing puppies into a bonfire in Lag B'Omer. They wrap them in aluminum foil and throw them away! Just like that.
All the activists are on high alert (and nightmares) in preparation for LJ B'Omer, patrol groups are being organized to try to save those who can from the fire...
It's a terrible time for animals, as are the Independence Day fireworks. Quite a few puppies paid with their lives for this amusement... This is a problem that must be addressed at the educational level from a very young age, and also at the level of informing the general population that does not know the phenomenon. Keep your eyes open, don't let this happen!"

Maya Ringel, board member of the Haifa Cat Lovers Association:
"Every year in preparation for the Feast of the Omer, the Cat Lovers Association in Israel enters into activity in a ready state.
Every volunteer in the association who is assigned to the "Warning of Atrocities to Omer" tour groups is put on heavy alert and tours are conducted of bonfire sites that are prone to disasters from previous years if only to prevent the monstrous abuse that is happening this evening.
In every possible media, the association distributes warnings accordingly, but in our opinion, there is a place for preventive information throughout the year, especially among the youth, so as not to arrive at this day unprepared. Therefore, keep your eyes open, don't let this horror happen!!!

Vared Shamlock, Environmental Quality Committee and Kiryat Haim Board:
"LJ B'Omer will be celebrated throughout the country. A traditional holiday, but nevertheless, in recent years we, the cat lovers, have witnessed a creepy phenomenon where kittens are kidnapped and taken to bonfires. A phenomenon that must be fought vigorously. You should consider dedicating education classes to the love of animals at school, so that we all have a happy Lag Ba'Omer holiday.
Their hands should be broken and burned. Those who behave like this live, tomorrow they will behave like humans
I am pleasantly shocked. Hard to digest such evil. God save us. Thank you for flooding the topic. It is important to watch over the children and teenagers
What is horrifying is taking every holiday from Israel's holidays and attributing to it every possible bad thing.
So once it's a scapegoat. Once the bonfires pollute. Passover used to cause constipation and Mitzvos cause children to suffocate. Once upon a time, Shavuot creates hell for those allergic to dairy products. Once the oil in Hanukkah pancakes will cause burns. And the menorah will burn houses. And Purim with toxic costumes. And Tu Beshvat disturbs the reptiles and the barbecue on Independence Day is cruel meat. And Sukkot be careful of flammable fabrics. And fireworks on Independence Day hurt dogs one year and then war bombs another year.
Friends, what you do is completely transparent.
Kidnapping cats to bonfires. "what you heard"
Yes, we heard cheezbets from it.
When in Ramadan they do barbecues for thousands of people, the meat activists have nothing to say, and they don't make installations against eating meat in Nazareth or Umm al-Kavem. When Christmas there is a fire hazard from smashers and a fire hazard from decorations on trees, you don't hear peeps from anyone.
There is probably an organized campaign here by associations to spread hatred of Judaism and post-Zionism that infiltrate through the idle articles to try to smear the country and its traditions and customs and blacken everything Jewish possible.
The first time in many years that I shed tears for this cruel case committed by my son Belial. Bless you for this great initiative to save these lovely animals.
It is beyond all human perception. And this is clearly related to the education or the lack of education that the children are exposed to. But how do you get to such a disturbing level of harming animals that are part of our everyday reality. I have a hard time understanding the psychological ability of the child to reach the level of throwing my husband into the fire. I know of children associated with the currents of the ultra-Orthodox religious who see this as entertainment. How does the Jewish religion not treat such a terrible thing as a brutal and cruel crime and those who do this bring shame on all of humanity. But not infrequently, even in crime fiction, you discover murderers who in the past have murdered and tortured animals. Children in criminal families can be just as exposed to it. And not only that, unfortunately. Children, many times we discover a terrible level of cruelty in them, towards classmates, family members, and different social groups. It is mandatory to introduce education for the care and compassion of animals into the education schools in every setting. Even before core studies.
Important
Horrifying and incomprehensible. What "fun" is there in such a thing? It's just horrible that someone would even think of doing something like that. shocking
You should hang it on a notice board in every residential building for the tenants to see
A. The police and the fire department must make sure that no fires are lit. That's the first thing.
B. Anyone who can go on a tour and watch by a campfire, will be blessed, blessed, blessed.
Thanks to all the guards.
Please spread the article.
A holiday of air pollution and animal abuse. It's time to stop the bonfires
Awful!! Do you also tour the villages in the Galilee? Of course, everything starts with education!
After all, there was an announcement that this year there is no Maduroz because the weather with the winds, and the great heat are definitely dangerous. I hear the horror of the animals for the first time, and it is hard to believe that there is such great evil among teenagers. I remember that last year they also canceled the bonfires, and another solution was found. For the sake of the articles here, we are talking about bonfires, and also about a ban due to weather conditions. This may confuse parents and children.
