(I live here by public transport) - The Haifa cable car will not provide service to the public users, except for periodic maintenance work.
Express Cable, the operator of the cable car in Haifa, stated:
Important notice for users of the Haifa cable car,
After a year of operating the cable car in Haifa, the time has come for a thorough maintenance, for the sake of safety and the continued provision of the service.
In light of this, cable car service will not be provided until Friday 12/05/2023.
For your convenience, you can use the following bus lines from the Gulf Center:
• Line 142 – to the Technion.
• Line 55 - to the university.
You can keep up to date with alternative transportation lines in the following ways:
through the service center of the National Authority for Public Transportation by phone *8787
or on the website of the Ministry of Transport.
Why not notify in advance?!?! Need to find out at the last second? Since when do you act like this?
Oh, I didn't understand why from Sunday I can no longer get on the cable car, thanks
You shouldn't keep throwing good money at bad money.
Establishing a bus line on the same route (Heart of the Gulf, Technion, University), will save a lot of money and the line will be reliable and without problems.
The cable car ride is an experience.
You can also use Matron line 4 from the center of the bay which travels through the Carmel tunnels to the Grand Canyon and change to lines 76, 77, 144 or 145 to reach the Technion.
To the university, you can change at the Grand Canyon to line 148 from Metro line 4 that does not enter the Technion and save the turns of lines 144 or 145 that go through the Technion, thus shortening the travel time and arriving as soon as possible.
The university also has line 137 that goes through the Grand Canyon and does not enter the Technion.
Isn't it time to close this cable car that goes from nowhere to nowhere? It's a disaster about to happen, just a matter of time.
You understand - 10 days of maintenance. Imagine if buses didn't run for 10 days..
Gentlemen, this is a white elephant at NIS 300 million + millions for maintenance and insurance per year
Enough and enough. Dismantle the expensive and unnecessary toy and make a bus route between the upper parking lot of the Technion
and the university's perimeter road (several hundred meters) and lines that will connect the campuses within minutes.
This bluff requires an investigation committee - all the usage surveys have already said for years that there is no need and there is no demand.
