'I just prayed that we would be able to get out of there, then I greeted "Hagomel" • Experiences from the independence events in Haifa

(haipo) - Many residents who came to celebrate Independence Day at the Mother's Garden in the center of Carmel, said that shortly after their arrival, they found themselves only desperate to escape the place, and hopefully also safely. Even before the performances began, according to the reports, the place was already overcrowded and unbearable. A grandmother who came with her little granddaughter to watch the performances, told Lehi Fe: "When I managed to get myself and my granddaughter out of the mess that was there, I blessed the Gomel."

Many residents of Haifa were eagerly anticipating the 75th celebrations of the state, among other things, many told of the excitement on the part of the young children from the performances that were going to take place at the Kindergarten.

Thus it was expected to start at 20:10 the show "Haste and Caution" which is a favorite of the children, after which according to the program the singer Agam Bohbot was supposed to take the stage. Due to the nature of the shows, many of the residents who came to the area were families with young children and grandparents who planned to spend time with their grandchildren of fun

But it quickly became clear that there probably wouldn't be any fun, when even before the start of the show, the Kindergarten was already packed to the brim. Quite a few adults began to feel uncomfortable with the situation and many of them preferred to take their children and give up the entertainment.

A grandmother who lives in the city (her name is withheld in the system) who came with her little granddaughter to watch the show, told Lahi Pa about what she describes as moments of terror: "The kindergarten was full and crowded with families and children, parents with strollers and also many young people, boys and girls. I arrived with my granddaughter in -19:15 p.m. At first, most of the people who came sat down on the grass, because the place and the show were intended for sitting.

Then, exactly at 20:10, when the show started, suddenly a lot of young people stood up, so that families with small children and strollers could not see the stage at all.

I looked back, because I wanted to get out of there with my granddaughter, and then my eyes went dark. I felt real life danger. Everything was crowded and a lot of people continued to go down the stairs and enter the garden, which was already crowded and completely crowded anyway, and no one stopped them! I looked towards the stairs from which the exit was supposed to be, and saw that even the escape exit had become an entrance, from which more and more people were also descending.

I hugged my granddaughter and fled the place with all my might, while images from the Miron disaster flashed through my mind... As soon as I rescued myself with my granddaughter and we managed to get out of the mother's garden, I greeted the blessing of the Gomel. I thank God that with all the failure that was there, everything ended well. It was a miracle. The orderlies didn't take control of what was there, they didn't have the ability to manage and organize to sort out the whole mess, and there were no escape routes either."

Other celebrants who were there with their children also said that they felt that the whole event was poorly organized and that there was chaos in the place. "We had a really traumatic experience, and not a fun one. We felt fear, especially because we were with the children."

Parents who came with their three children also told about the experience: "It was scary. All we wanted was to get out of the place safely, without anything happening to the children. We are happy and say thank you that everything ended safely."

The candidate for mayor, attorney David Etzioni, commented on the issue:
"Independence Day showed the inability and experience of the current municipality to manage large events. First, how is it possible that every corner of the city is not decorated with Israeli flags and the colors blue and white? Even more so in the areas of the stages! In addition, there was a safety failure at the entrance and exit of the stages, when the crowds are crazy. In addition, the stage section was not closed, which could have endangered thousands of pedestrians on the sidewalks when the road was busy.

In addition, the residents of the neighborhoods did not enjoy the stages as before, because they gathered all the residents in 3 large stages. Another omission was the issue of fireworks, if you have already decided to do it - compared to other cities that do not support the matter because it harms animals and post-trauma victims, the fireworks were poor and low, and they were unable to see them from the observation deck they prepared at Teil Lui."

Etzioni also added: "The poor preparation for the Independence Day performances is outrageous! Instead of scattering the places as before, with a central stage in Moriah, there was one children's performance in the center of Carmel and the whole city was drained there. The big omission is that there was no adequate preparation for this at the entrance gates and the event reminded of the Miron disaster. Also , the road was not blocked, when thousands of children, parents and old people crowded the sidewalks and risked a traffic accident. The stages must be restored in all areas, such as Neve Shanan and Neve David, so that all residents can enjoy the Independence Day stages and increase the offer of local performances by the talented Haifa youth." .

When we contacted the Haifa Municipality for a response, we were directed to the Atos company, which, according to them, is responsible for producing the events.

The Etos company gave a response to Hai Pa:
"The event at the Gan Ham complex operated with a license from the Israel Police and a safety engineer. The number of participants for this event as stipulated in the event license and at the "Approval of the Plans" meeting held at the Israel Police prior to the event, was confirmed to 3000 participants. During the entire event, security checks and counts of those entering were carried out by ushers the security company and under the supervision of the Israel Police. When the crowd at the event reached 3000 participants, the Israel Police decided, in accordance with the licensing conditions, to block the entrances to the kindergarten in order to conduct a police situation assessment. Immediately after assessing the situation, the Israel Police and the safety engineer approved the reopening of the kindergarten and allowed the entry of an additional amount of participants. All the while, the exit gates and emergency exits remained open and supervised by the Israel Police and the on-site security company's orderlies, this in order to allow for the safe exit of the crowd and to protect the participants in the event of an emergency. under the conditions of the license and the instructions of the Israel Police."

  1. The city of Haifa has a beautiful stadium and it is spectacular. good week

  2. Wow, a response from one candidate for mayor? Not very balanced, huh? There are no other candidates who wanted to respond? If we check we will find that the members of the system are relatives or personal friends of the dear candidate? Interesting, maybe this is an article that should be produced. It doesn't matter that the content is a bit ridiculous, a kid who criticizes an experience in organizing productions, treats the municipality as if the ratio between its wealth and the size of the city is proportional... in short, professionalism? less.

  3. it was a miracle that nothing bad happened, i hope whoever was supposed to take care of this joyous event learned an important lesson, and next year it will be done more safely.

  4. Dear Hana, this is not a political move and it is not even a candidate for mayor. It is an omission that miraculously nothing happened to anyone, no one was crushed or run over. The organizers should pay attention to these things and the justice.

  5. Haifa is the only large city in Israel that does not have a public transport portfolio holder in the city council or the city administration and this is very noticeable.
No major event has public transportation arrangements because among the 4500 city officials there is no one to promote public transportation, do you understand??
In Tel Aviv and Jerusalem the deputy mayors handle it, in Haifa it is as if the issue does not exist. There are no permanent public transport consultants, no planning of shuttles and reinforcement of lines for events. Municipality joke, laughter from the public. Until a disaster happens, some children will be trampled to death, God forbid, and then they will ask why and why and how is it possible..

  6. What is?! Did you write public relations?! A neighborhood newspaper and whistleblower against the mayor. Every time a self-interested article against her... really a joke... unfortunately the articles here are recruited and do not respect the readers. Everything here is trendy..it's not pleasant anymore because it's transparent.

  7. The city of Haifa should always estimate that 3000 will not arrive, maybe three times as many. Because they come from other cities who prefer the shows in Haifa because of their children's favorite singers. including the number of points of And shows to expand and thus reduce the density are trying to save on our backs. Haifa municipality should not trust a friend. The culture department needs to check the ethos as well. If there was a disaster, of course Haifa, its residents would be hurt. Where is the concern of the city of Haifa they must not be trusted!

  8. Note / clarification / additional question:
If according to the same unknown source in Ethos - (and not as
I wrote by mistake - the spokeswoman of the municipality, which in my opinion is the same body) - the number of people was concentrated
And we were saved by the ushers -
What is the number of people -
    B a i r u e ?
And since when is the safety engineer responsible for such issues?
It's in a zine! As a SHT - to look for a replacement for responsibility: police / mayor - no responsibility!!

  9. Really awesome!
.Yor Blahot, as if copied from Ason Miron!!!
    A. As usual in the Banana Republic - Israel,
    A f a h d l a l v k h a h r i u t !
    B. The police and Co. - confirmed the amount of 3000 people
And according to the spokeswoman - after that, she allowed more and more!!
    Someone is knowingly lying here!
    There are only two factors:
    1. Police
    2. Athos - Haifa municipality
One thing is clear - it was a miracle that we did not return to the Miron incident.
It is enough that there would have been a reason to panic - and the crowd would have tried to escape - and you have Miron No. 2 - when this time - they will not blame the top of the Ministry of Religions, and Minister Deri, nor the Prime Minister's Ministry - which did not dare to oppose the Shas - but, much simpler, Really scary!
According to the evidence (not of Etzioni - who is completely right), but of citizens - Yitzchai Hirom HaYu
H.S.U.U.T!! And again - the spokeswoman is probably not being precise / not telling the truth!!!
    Therefore :
An investigative committee must be established:
    A. Who gave the permission for the event?
    B. After the amount (3000 people) was filled -
Who was the wise man who allowed to go beyond, and continue to crowd people - blood on his head!
third. to check the falsehoods of the municipality's spokesmen - and if the facts in the article - are correct - from the Israel Defense Forces / to Peter
    person in charge !!
Unfortunately, because we are, indeed, in a third world culture - to the letter - "the dogs bark, and the convoy passes".
    h h h
    Where is the opposition?
Where are the candidates for mayor:
    His father Han
    Zvika Barbie
    Jacob Borovsky
If you become deaf - I'm sorry
    YZBI is working for us!!!

  10. This is not journalism at its best... You should add a disclosure note below: "sponsored article".
    .

  11. It's enough to express my opinion, it won't help either, there was no shortage, destroying Haifa has nothing to do with everything that happened today, so the dream is nice enough, but we don't want to come

  12. Have you started publishing my reviews? Hahaha enough, not appropriate.
And this is regardless of the fact that Haifa Municipality is not running properly (to put it mildly)

  13. Haifa has a stadium with 30,000 seats.
There is the Romema sports hall with 5000 seats.
It was possible to sell for NIS 10 per seat tickets for an arranged performance of stages in these halls.
Instead of closing neighborhood stages and bringing thousands of people who tried to squeeze into the Kindergarten with room for only 3000 and returned home disappointed and crying children.
It is not possible for the residents of Haifa to own a stadium that is closed to them even during holidays and ceremonies and cannot be used. It is nothing less than an omission.
