There's no shame in hearing aids and it's the best thing I could have done for myself. It only made me blossom and feel more confident in myself. It transmits a lot of power and it's very sexy to hear instead of saying "what" all the time.
Ozzie Zoltek was born in Kiryat Ata, a belly singer by birth. Zoltek was born in Carmel Hospital in Haifa under the name Osheret Zoltek (scoop of the editor!) Ozzy is her stage name and she claims that only her mother calls her by her birth name, well, maybe some childhood friends too.
Even when she was little she was moving in the crib and the doctors didn't know what was wrong with her. The answer to her parents is that she will still be on stage, she had an inner rhythm that was hard to ignore.
Ozzy paved her musical path through the representative bands of Kiryat Ata to the representative band of Haifa Noya and contributed to it for almost 3 years until she enlisted in the army and when she was released she was drawn to make a difference and contributed a lot to the city of Haifa in every possible ceremony on every possible stage.
She discovered her love for music at the age of 6, music and acting was her real fashion, she always did shows for the neighbors and even got paid money (that's probably how it was in the beautiful eighties)
Ozzy has always suffered from chronic ear problems and acute infections which eventually ruptured the eardrums in both ears, which led to 3 eardrum transplant surgeries and more.
Since the surgeries, Ozzy's hearing has severely deteriorated each surgery more and more. Until Ozzy entered a world of silence and uncertainty despite being a singer.
During the years that Ozzie did not use hearing aids she developed a very high hearing ability which picked up even the smallest fakes.
Her ear became selective people's speech she didn't hear and fakes Yes, our singer never faked and not only she didn't fake she was also always the walking voice machine now more than 10 voices of girls who forgot their roles. Ozzy just remembered the roles.
Her adaptation in the hearing world was with answers of what or irrelevant answers to the questions she was asked.
Ozzy didn't mind...
People thought she was a dumbass and still it didn't bother her..
When did it bother you?
When she went to auditions for a music reality show and the judges made fun of her for not hearing!
They didn't read the short brief in which Ozzy asked to arrange the studio in a way that would be close to the piano and the judges.
Ozzy has been reading lips since her hearing deteriorated until today and she was unable to read the judges' lips as they were thousands of light years away from her and found herself in an awkward situation where she feels weak and not good at the place she is best at and that is singing.
After all these difficult experiences, she turned to assembling hearing aids and the world became stunning!
Ozzie heard things she had never heard before, birds chirping, wind, anything. Cutting the speech of the people close to her, voice color tone. Things she never noticed in her life and couldn't because she was hard of hearing.
Nowadays Ozzy uses hearing aids mainly in rehearsals and most importantly on stage and when she wants to she just shuts out the world and enjoys every moment.
Ozzy, a message for my readers who live here?
There's no shame in hearing aids and it's the best thing I could do for myself it just made me blossom and feel more confident in myself it transmits a lot of power and it's very sexy to hear than to say what all the time
Back to music
At the age of 24, Ozzy founded a rock band that performed in Haifa, and Kiryat recorded an album in Haifa that was shelved, which emerged as a result of an unrequited lover. Which is usually the reason for releasing an album.
At the age of 26, Ozzy started taking voice development lessons with Ricky Gal (before the hearing aids) 4 lessons and Ricky opened a dam of power in her voice and a resonator that could be heard far and wide so they say.
Riki told her to go study in Ramon, you are very talented.
Ozzie went to study in Ramon and was accepted to level 4 which is one before the highest and received high hearing development.
It made her laugh a lot because she can't hear at all so what is the development of high hearing what?
Ozzy had a very hard time and realized that she was wasting her precious time at the school that did not contribute to her as a singer and so she returned to Tel Aviv from Ramat Hasharon where the Rimon school is located.
Formed a new rock band and began collecting materials for the album that was released "Akdah Ta'on" This album was published after 5 or 6 years since it was made, it is an album that was written for a long time and it is very loaded.
Since then, she has performed all over the country and collaborated with C. Hyman and Amir Dadon.
Rock and reality?
The first baptism of fire in reality was done in a program called "Haron", a program that tells the story of 3 girls who change their closets. The production loved Ozzy's clothing style and persona and of course the music.
Ozzy agreed to be revealed on the condition that they reveal her music and so it was! After the show, another production turned to Ozzy to do a reality docu that Ozzy will tell about the world of music, hearing loss, etc... from there it turned into Guy Pines at the first Gothic festival in Israel and Guy Pines turned into "What's happening in Eilat vip", in a more natural way she connected with Corn Sexual who are quite connected in terms of The genres and a little less for Avivit Bar Zohar, who couldn't even say her name properly.
Eilat Reality VS Rock
Yes, two different and opposite worlds. I just wanted to turn black and white into gray. It doesn't have to be two contrasting colors. The reality show was a springboard for who I am and what I am. Although there was a crazy trending edit that didn't give me the freedom to express myself, they just tried to put me in the non-communicating gothic slot and nothing. she cares.
But we tried to make a bit of a change at Channel 24 and that was the goal. Less Mediterranean More Corn Rock Big Fishy and I tried to make a difference. It didn't work out for us with Israel who loves the Mediterranean.
God forbid, we didn't want to talk about the Mediterranean Sea, we simply wanted him to bring a comparison.
So can we say "Ozi-Kabad Haifai"?
At the beginning, I listed all my contributions from the dawn of my childhood to Haifa and Kiryat, and today, unfortunately, I am not reaping the fruits that I really want to harvest. I contacted the elite of bringing entertainment and content to Haifa.
They kind of disappeared for me, I really hope that maybe they will come to my shows and realize what they are missing? I would be very happy and would very much like to be on the big stages in Haifa as part of the outdoor concerts on Independence Day, etc.
I am consistent and I will get to it.
Turning to you, the elite, I have contributed a lot to Haifa, I would be very happy to cheer you on.
Tell me about a crazy musical combination?
"I released a song with "The Shadow" and I must state that I do not support or associate with his political views, whatever they may be, in my eyes it is very barbaric and this is not the way.
When I collaborated with him, we thought of a gimmick in the Bensens style of rock meets rap, and a great song came out: you are invited to listen to "What You Started" on YouTube Ozzy Zoltek"

What would you not be willing to give up?
About my persona, about my self for no reality show for no crazy song that will be played in clubs. I want to preserve and preserve my art and my say always.
Even if it means working hard until I get to my property.
If I managed to intrigue you even a little, especially if you "don't swim in the material" and my music is not the initial attraction, I would be happy to surprise you at my upcoming show at the concert club "Wonderbar" for an evening full of fine and energetic Israeli rock that will be remembered here for a long time to come.

A message to my readers here?
1. There is no such thing as limitations. There is such a thing as limited people who do not know how to accept, accommodate and listen. Take the difference/strangeness and everything else and channel it into something good, something empowering.
2. Get out of the house for concerts. You want quality Israeli rock and roll. After the Jews, it didn't happen. We kind of got stuck in the 90s with the amazing bands we have.
All that's left for you is to vote with your feet
