(Live here with education for technological excellence) - The robotics group of the Reali school will participate this year for the fifth time, in the global robotics competition that will be held in Houston, Texas, USA.
The robotics group of the Reali School from Haifa will participate in the global robotics competition, along with 11 other groups from Israel. For Harieli, this will be the fifth year in which the school delegation participates in the international competition.

Second place in the national competition
The group of students from grades 12-12 at the Reali School, called "Galaxy after David Zohar" won second place in the national robotics competition held last month in Jerusalem.
This competition is one of the highlights of the activity of the international association "FIRST", affiliated in Israel to the Technion. Thanks to the winning of the Reali students group in second place in the national competition, they will participate in the final international competition, which will take place this very week, starting from 19/4/23, in the USA, under the auspices of NASA, in the city of Houston, Texas.

"Scorpio"
The group, which includes 26 participants - 16 male and 10 female students, worked every day for about two months, after regular school hours, in the design and production of their robot "Scorpio", which they created according to the characterization requirements given to all the participants from around the world at the ceremony A celebration that caused great excitement.
Tertzah Hochberg, the director of the group from the Reali school, said in a conversation with Lahi Pa:
"The school supports the activity of the participants in the robotics group at all levels, but does not grant 'discounts' from participating in regular studies, while looking for solutions to specific problems. The group is led by two female captains - Mein and Alina, 12th grade students. The work is carried out under the guidance of mentors the students at all stages of the work: two teachers from the school, a master's degree student from the Technion and another external volunteer, an adult with knowledge in mechanical engineering. In addition to them, the graduates of the robotics groups from the past, some of whom serve in the army or are studying academically, help out on a voluntary basis."
Excellence and engineering qualities
The Reali robotics group was established in 2016 and since then has participated in most of the world championships. In the past, the group of Reali students won awards in various fields, and this year, it is the robot "Scorpio", which brought it an award for excellence and engineering qualities. And this, as mentioned, is the fifth time that a team from the school will participate in the world championship, along with 11 other teams from Israel. The place was guaranteed, as mentioned, by virtue of winning second place in the national competition.

6 principles for FIRST
The international robotics competition, with everything that accompanies it and includes the complex organizational aspects of it, is an impressive and welcome initiative of the FIRST association, affiliated in Israel to the Technion. The originator of the idea and the founder of the international association (1989) is the American scientist Dean Kayman.
The association advocates six principles, which it promotes through the competitions: innovation, curiosity, teamwork, impact, inclusion and enjoyment.
Packed and ready to go!
that's it! The robot "Scorpio" was packed in a special box, as were his other robot "friends", and they set out on their way to the USA. The male and female students from the Reali School are also in the final preparations for their departure to the USA, and will board a plane tomorrow (Monday 17/4/23). The international competition will start, as mentioned, on Wednesday - 19/14/23.
Adequate visibility:
My eldest grandson participates in the Reali team, and I, as a proud grandfather, wish his team success in the prestigious competition. I am sure they will do their best to return to Haifa with a medal. Successfully!
We are in a living system here, and everyone who stays here in Haifa, we wish the talented students to enjoy every moment of the special experience, and of course - good luck!
I wish the Ministry of Education would fund it!
Who finances the trip to the USA? The Ministry of Education or the rich parents?
Good question, Omri! The children's trip is financed by their parents. However, a child whose parents lack means receives funding from the school. To remind you, the rally is a private school.
All the best to the "Hariel" school in Haifa and to you too, Dr. David Bar On. Have a good week
Indeed, kudos to Reali!
Warms the heart, nice to hear, strength and good luck to our future generation.
Artist.
Good luck to the team
And we bless Scorpio too
Won't help won't hurt
Everyone needs good luck.
