The search for Zohar
It was a little over a year ago, Wednesday 9/2/22, winter, Wadi Shih in Haifa.
The members of YCL (the canine unit) were called in to assist in the search for Zohar ben Eli (deceased), about 33 years old, whose life was in real fear. Outside, stormy, rainy and cold weather prevailed.

The dogs of the unit operated in the depth of the area, using the best means, while they were in a race against the clock. The hours ticked by, the searches were conducted feverishly and non-stop. The volunteers, soaked to the bone, their clothes and shoes soaked in water from head to toe, they don't give up for a moment.

Thursday came, Zohar has not yet been found. The fear for her safety grew. The dogs, despite the stormy weather, continued with great efforts and picked up the gear, the hours passed... the twilight hour arrived, the sun began to set. The unit's dog, together with the warrior on all fours, the dog Kali, recognized Zohar deep in the terrain, in a tangled and complex area.

Unfortunately, she was already lifeless. Such a case is very difficult for us; But at least we got to bring her to the grave of Israel. There is comfort in that too.

So touching and sad. And kudos to the canine unit.
