About the group of Haifa actresses: Renata Michelson, Ditza Caspi Elgar, Tali Roth
"The Muses of the Mountain" is an independent Haifa female ensemble, which is not supported by any body and finances itself and therefore does not submit to dictates and is not censored in its content. The ensemble consists of creative actresses, who are looking for the punch in the stomach, the live fringe and are not afraid to challenge the audience and especially themselves. The group was born as a protest against the small amount of budgets in Israel that are transferred to fringe theater and free and non-institutional creation.
The group rehearsed the play at night at the actresses' daughter's house, after the children had gone to bed. Move the furniture and build a stage in the living room. Just like the maids in the show.
The great advantage of the show being made as a "home production" is the thing that many actors dream of: complete artistic freedom.
The heterogeneous group consists of two professional actresses who graduated from the Faculty of Theater at the University of Haifa. and a third actress who is a cancer researcher by profession. The director of the play, Olga Shatzman, is a biochemistry engineer from the Technion. What unites the four of us is the love for real, immersive and moving theater.
The group performed for over two years on various stages throughout the country, including the Khan Theater in Jerusalem, Tsava in Tel Aviv and the Haifa Theater and ended its journey a year and a half ago.
On Saturday 18/03/2017 they met after a year and a half, for one special evening for a fundraiser show where all proceeds from tickets will go to non-profits for animals.
The fundraising show is an idea that has been brewing in the group since the beginning of their journey together. The idea of using the art they bring to the stage as an opportunity to help a cause they all believe in is no less than the artistic cause.
Needless to say, all members of the group have at least one animal, and usually more than one.
The production and financing of the fundraising show is independent of the group, despite attempts to request support and help to produce the event. The muses do not give up and hope that the guests enjoyed the evening from the show and especially to contribute to saving animals.

About the play (for those who are less into the classics section)
Claire and Solange, maids-nurses who live in Madame's house hold a secret ritual at night. When Madame is not around, they turn Madame's bedroom into a stage, on which the repressed maids bring out their darkest, repressed hidden passions, demons and urges. They examine their relationship with Madame, with each other, and especially with themselves.
One night they decide to murder the man and then the phone rings unexpectedly and the ritual takes a turn that changes everything. The play, by the scandalous French playwright Jean Jeanne, was inspired by the true story of the Papin sisters, servants who slaughtered their landlady and her young daughter, causing a great uproar in French society.
This is a social play about play and the ability of the imagination to undermine the foundations of reality. And above all about the longing for absolute freedom and equality and the price we will be willing to pay to achieve them.
