(Update for noon, 2/4/23, around 13:00 p.m.) Dagon workers from silos in Haifa are blocking the entrance to the factory in protest of poor safety conditions.
At this time I am working Dagon from silos In Haifa they are blocking the entrance to the factory in protest of poor safety conditions in their work environment. The employees are required as part of their work to endanger themselves, in a complex that includes unsafe work practices, and difficult physical conditions that may lead to damage to their safety and health.

The protest follows an open labor dispute on the issue, and about a month ago the workers demonstrated in front of the house of Uzi Itzhaki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Israel Ports Company (Haani). Since then, all the references of the workers' committee and the transport workers' union in the Histadrut to the Hani management and the new operator have been returned empty.

The labor dispute in the Dagon silo
(Live here - workers' rights) - On Sunday morning (2/4/23) at 6:30 the silo in Beit Dagon will stop working. The silo workers did not sign an employment agreement with the new operator of Beit Dagon - the Millennium Company, and therefore from the moment the silo passes into their hands they start an indefinite strike. The silo was established in the 50s and until 2021 it was operated by the Beit Dagon company. In 2021 it was transferred to the Gadot company.
The chairman of the workers' council, Shimon Amar, explained this evening (1/4/23) why the workers did not sign an agreement on the Millennium company:
"Tomorrow at 6:30 the Gadot company is handing over the keys to the silos to the Millennium company. We have not signed an agreement with the new operator, so we will not start work.
The first issue What is not agreed upon is the issue of safety. We want an action plan and not empty promises. The problem is that there is too much dust in the silo and it is explosive. The systems that vacuum the dust do not meet this amount of dust. We knew the situation was serious, but we brought two engineers and learned from them how serious the situation is, and we are afraid for the workers."
The second issue The one in dispute is the new silo, which is about to open in the port of Haifa in a few years. We want a solution to this problem. Either they will promise us that we will move to work in the new silo or they will give us protection because our livelihood is being taken away. We want them to find us a defense mechanism. We have 20-30 year employees in the silo. They thought they would work here until retirement. People came to work at Beit Dagon and one day it was dropped on them. If you want us to work until the new silo is ready, we must settle this issue."
As I recall, the one who operates the silos today is the Dagon company. At the beginning of January of this year Hani (Israel Ports Company) published a tender for operating the silos. Dagon did not participate in the tender. Hani chose Millennium as the winner of the tender for operating the silo. The concession period for the operation of the silo will be for 6 years, with Hani being able to extend the period to 10 years.
The Millennium company deals in the field of logistics and is responsible for storage, terminals, transport services, service centers and advanced logistics.
I have an idea, you can catch a lot of pigeons on the premises of the factory and sell them to the Arabs, they like to stuff them with rice and pine nuts and bake them in the oven, a good suggestion, and then share the profits among the workers in the factory
I'm ready to put a mask filter on myself for eight hours straight, but to earn fifty thousand a month, believe me, no one will come forward with claims against the company, I'm good, they're good, at least I'm satisfied, but I'll give my lungs for minimum wage, an idiot who's ready anyway with a sick person No one will count him, not even a phone to ask how he is, they won't cheat, you can bring negroes from Africa, they will work even with the underwear for a thousand dollars a month and even sleep in a tent, what does the management care
All the years I've been driving on the road in front of this factory, everything looks quiet and calm from the outside, I didn't know that there were really problems inside this factory and more in the port area
Employees still want to bring their bread with dignity and the CEOs put them on the divorced people who barely earn shame
The pigeons that screw over our heads, washing the windows and balconies, most of it comes from the large amount of food that the pigeons roost in the grounds of a house where they fill their beaks with lots of seeds. I remember when we built the first part of the silo and then another and another and filled the entire view of the sea and the harbor. So the ugly silo was probably needed it was time to demolish this structure.
A sword half neighborhood the brain
There is no need for a strike in Dagon. good week
Everyone will express his will
She should be returned to Dagon.
