Dukorsky: 'Despite the Treasury's decision, Kiryat Bialik Municipality employees will receive the full grant before Passover

Dukorsky for Kiryat Bialik municipality employees: "Despite the Ministry of Finance's decision not to reimburse the local authorities for the grant they were promised until the salary is paid in March, I decided to transfer the full grant to Kiryat Bialik Municipality employees in preparation for Passover."

As you know, understandings were recently reached between the General Histadrut and the Ministry of Finance and the Local Government Center regarding the provision of a one-time grant to local authority employees, in the amount of up to NIS 6,000, for wage disparities.
The Ministry of Finance undertook to indemnify (financially reward) the local authorities for the workers budgeted by the state, but despite the undertaking, the local authorities received a notice that the indemnification would not arrive before the payment of wages in the month of March, the date of the grant before Passover.

On Friday (24/3/23), the local government center informed the authorities that due to the failure to pay the indemnity from the Ministry of Finance, the authorities will pay the workers a grant in the next salary in the amount of only NIS 2,000.

Upon receiving the notice from the local government center, the mayor of Kiryat Bialik, Eli Dukorski, held a consultation with the municipality's CEO Lior Tergan, the municipality's treasurer Chen Peretz and the chairperson of the workers' committee Nava Mord, in which it was decided that the municipality will pay the full grant of NIS 6000 already in one month's salary March, before the Passover holiday in light of the fact that the workers were saving their steps for the holiday with the expectation and understanding that they would receive the full grant.
