Two weeks after the Haifa Municipality closed two buildings at Nirim Elementary School in Neve David in Haifa, it announced yesterday, Tuesday, (21/03/2023) that the buildings are approved for activity. The municipality updated yesterday that a qualified construction engineer on their behalf visited the school in the last few days and inspected the administration building and the sports hall and confirmed that they are suitable for use and can return to full activity. He further stated that the other buildings in the school are not dangerous and items that posed a danger were removed by his order. The buildings will be renovated during the upcoming holidays.
As I recall, about two weeks ago the municipality closed the building intended for students of grades 1-2 and the building intended for the higher grades. A constructor on behalf of the municipality arrived at the school, demolished the two buildings and prohibited entry to them. The buildings were closed due to cracks and exposed iron. The children moved to study in the administration building, where there is a library, a combination classroom and a teacher's room, in the sports hall and in the yard. The parents asked the municipality to find an alternative building for the students so that learning could continue as a series.

Mayor Dr. Einat Kalish Rotem arrived at the school yesterday (Tuesday, 21/03) and met with the parents' representatives and the education staff and instructed the professional staff to organize the learning in the administration building, which was tested and approved, as well as to rent two additional rooms for the school in a community center. Last Thursday (16/03/23) the education team at the school organized six classrooms in the existing buildings that are allowed for activity, so that all the students will study in the school complex.
The chairman of the parents' committee at the Liat Priva school: The municipality has intentions and we are waiting for actions

The chairman of the parents' committee at the Liat Priva school would like to see the municipality begin to act so that the children at the school can return to normal as soon as possible. An engineer from the municipality came to the school several times, and he decided that studies cannot take place in the two buildings that were closed. We are a month behind that the decision was made and they did not start work. Yesterday (Tuesday, 21/03/23) there was a meeting together with the municipality and it was agreed that the entire renovation will be completed by 01/09/2023, and the workers will work on holidays. Since the two buildings were closed, classes have been held in the administration building and the municipality is trying to use the studies in this structure. They are trying to arrange it so that the management structure can provide an answer to all the students of the school. The municipality has given some options that are not relevant for us parents, such as studies in the community center. We are trying to arrange the administration building so that it will be possible to study there, but it is temporary, and we expect that they will start working and return the buildings that were closed to activity. The structure of grades A-B is not proper and pieces of plaster are falling in the structure of the higher grades. The buildings are currently still closed. The municipality has intentions and we expect actions and as soon as possible.
Ma'ayan Elimelech from the parents' leadership said to Lahi Pa: The parents want to see the school renovated and ready at the beginning of the school year. "We were at the municipality yesterday (Tuesday 21/03/23) and there are intentions for cooperation on their part. It was made clear to us where things stand. Of course, there is a need for renovation and restoration and only after that we can return to studying in the buildings. At the meeting we talked about the beginning of the school year, with our goal that the renovation be completed until September 23. The municipality has pledged to do everything in its power to use the administrative structure for classrooms so that studies can be regular by the end of the year with the increasing cooperation of the school principal and the leadership of the parents. We were told that if deficiencies are discovered in the administrative structure, workers will come to the school And they will see what can be done. We are waiting for the results to advance the renovation. Two buildings are still closed and awaiting renovation."
Yona Yahav boasted that "the Haifa municipality's development budget is the largest in Israel."
Only most of it went to salaries and inflated pensions and benefits for the municipal committee and we see the results of destroyed, burned, half-finished, unfinished and crumbling educational, sports and cultural buildings over and over again. From the burnt house in Mainz to the schools with crumbling concrete, from the unrenovated Talpiot market to the removal of the Bat Galim beach arches because they crumbled, this is what the municipality looks like with a non-development budget and a surplus as a mess. Millions for barges instead of renovating, strengthening and making public buildings more accessible. This is the reality.
Afraid to study there.
Everything is broken.
The municipality makes fun of parents and endangers the children.
mozar.
In the building where I rent, twice in the last three years the building was declared dangerous.
Although there is no significant danger to the building, it is claimed that the building endangers the public because the exterior plastering in a certain area of the building may detach and injure passers-by.
Deficiencies are required to be corrected within 30 days and we will not receive a conference.
A double standard when the municipality is the landlord is fine
