The municipality of Kiryat Bialik submitted its opposition to the expansion of the airport in Haifa
The municipality of Kiryat Bialik has submitted its objection to the Subtal 80 A plan for the expansion of the airport in Haifa. The municipality's objection refers to the plan based on the extension of the existing runway of the airport in Haifa by 100 meters.
The municipality claims that the plan will not allow the use of the airport for international flights and will only cater for small planes with only 10 passengers. On the other hand, the extension of the route will harm the residents of Kiryat Bialik and the surrounding authorities in terms of noise, environmental nuisances and the ability to develop the area.
In the objection submitted by the municipality to the subcommittee for hearing the objections of the National Committee for Planning and Construction of National Infrastructures, it was stated that the municipality is aware of the need to reduce flight loads in Israel by establishing additional airports, but the proposed plan does not provide the appropriate solution: "The Ministry of Transportation promoted the sub" 74 which states that an airport must be established in the Hadera area, which should cater for flights that previously flew from Herzliya and Sde Dov airports. The expansion of the field in the manner currently proposed, while placing emphasis on the funnels of the "small" planes, which will be the only ones that will be able to fly, will result in the municipality and all authorities The surrounding area will not be able to promote any high-rise construction plan and therefore the authorities will not be able to promote any future construction. So, for example, in Kiryat Bialik alone there are projects to build over 4,500 housing units. It is not superfluous to state that these plans include the construction of high-rise buildings."
According to the Mayor of Kiryat Bialik Eli Dukorski, the proposed plan does not address the needs of the state in terms of security and strategy and will not be able to address the reduction of the burdens in the National Bank of Israel.
Mayor Dukorski:
"The expansion of the airport in the manner proposed will cause noise nuisance in the area where the environmental damage is the most severe. As is known, small planes for which the plan is intended fly at low altitude, which will create particularly heavy noise. These noise hazards, as well as the use of jet fuel of lower quality than large planes, will cause damage to the residents as well as in the entire region. The expansion of the airport will prevent any possibility of expansion and urban development. Limiting the height of the construction will be disastrous, will contradict the plans that have already been approved and will prevent any future expansion in the development of the authorities."
Dukorski believes that the public interest will be trampled and the expansion of the route will be fatal and irreparable, all at the expense of the peripheral authorities and their residents.

At least the airport will continue to operate short flights (Cyprus).
Haifa airport is an unnecessary and oppressive solution. It's really not the solution to lighten the load. The south, for example, is empty of residents and the Negev has many areas, there is no doubt that that is the place that would cause the least disturbance to the population and at a reasonable distance from the center of the country.
The current mayor of Bialik (until 31.10.23) opposes with all his might new residential construction in his city. He fought against the implementation of the approved plan "Bialik on the Park". He now has a fig leaf to cover himself with. There is of course no connection between the extension of the route by the sea and the future residence of Kiryat Bialik east of Route 20.
All the best to my friend Eli Dukarski, mayor of Kiryat Bialik.
The mayor of Kiryat Bialik is very right. I live in Haifa on the Carmel slope facing the bay. Already today you hear every noise of planes taking off or landing. And when this happens at night, it will be a very serious situation for the hundreds of thousands of residents of Haifa and the Kerios, contrary to the position of the Mayor of Haifa and its current administration. The solution exists and it is the establishment of a complementary airport to Israel on an artificial island in front of the shores of the Carmel Castle at a cost of slightly less than 4 billion dollars with easy access to the coastal road and the railroad via bridges. The route will be almost 3 km from the coast, thus ensuring that there will be no noise above The level of noise today on the coastal road and the railroad, while promoting the economy of the northern region, without environmental effects and with excellent and short accessibility to the residents of Israel from the north to Hadera

This is what you think... do you really believe that the roads will withstand the sudden load that will be created on them? After all, they are not planning to increase them in accordance with the expected volume of traffic. So it will take you from Motzkin to get to the airport the same time it takes you to get to Herzliya.
The whole area will be congested and it will not be possible to approach.
