At a good time, the community center opens in Masada 6
Good news for the youth and the LGBT community.
After a long period of difficulties, works and searches for the warm house, the LGBT community won the warmest house in the city! The freshest, designed and located in a young and vibrant neighborhood with a shared past.
In recent years, the neighborhood has transformed and positioned itself as a communal, pluralistic and tolerant neighborhood in the Haifa region in particular and in Israel in general.

The House of Communities
The community house for pride and tolerance - The first community center in Haifa for the LGBT community was inaugurated this evening at Masada Street 6 in the Hadar neighborhood by Mayor Yona Yahav, City Council member Yossi Shalom and members of the gay community.
The center is managed by Arnon Alosh, born in Haifa, who has over 10 years of experience working with populations excluded from Israeli society.
Why a "communities" house?
The center is located in the corner of Hamed, although it is on the main street of Masada, but it is far from the hustle and bustle inside "Gan Castle", which adds more intimacy to the place.
The center has been trained for the needs of the community, which includes a "living room" that will serve as an introduction space for the members of the gay community, three halls, a clinic where tests will be carried out in cooperation with the committee to fight AIDS and the award clinics, an office of the gay organizations and a cafe that will open soon.
For the first time in Israel, two courses will be opened at the center in collaboration with the University of Haifa: one on proud Jewish leadership and the other on Arab LGBT activism.
The House of Communities will promote large-scale urban action in cooperation with various community groups and the municipality.
In this framework, seminars will be held for all department managers in the municipality with the aim of promoting a service charter of the municipality of Haifa to the members of the community.
The seminar will be a continuation of the workshop in which some of the employees of the elderly unit took part and in which the unique needs of aging in the gay community were explained.
There will also be seminar days for educational counselors and psychologists in the schools, at the same time 6 trainees began a year of service in voluntary activities in youth settings throughout the neighborhood, in schools and in the gay community center.
Yossi Shalom A member of the city council and holds the portfolio of youth and young people and the pride: the community house is the home of the Haifa LGBT community. In the center, support and empowerment services will be provided to the members of the community and their families, a variety of leisure activities and social and community activities. Our goal is to create a center that will be a fertile ground for the growth of social activists , the flag bearers in everything related to social and perceptual change towards the gay communities in the city.
