Evacuation of a historic building for a one-story residential building in Kiryat Yam
This morning (Tuesday 7/2/23) a 3-story residential building was destroyed at 27 Sderot Yerushalayim Street in Kiryat Yam.
In its place will be built a new and modern building of 9 floors, with a commercial floor and an office floor, and 7 residential floors.
The project was carried out by the Y. D. Zamir company, architecture by Miki Otmazgin.
Mayor David Ibn Tzur:
"This is the immediate answer to the earthquakes. We are promoting urban renewal because it is the lifeline and development of the city, we have no other way, and we have proven ourselves to be outstanding in this at the national level."
Last year, Kiryat Yam was included in the exclusive umbrella agreement for 12 outstanding municipalities in urban renewal, in line with large cities such as Ramat Gan and Jerusalem.
In addition, it was privileged to be one of only ten municipalities all over the country that received a grant to plan the urban renewal of an entire neighborhood - Neighborhood D.
The municipality of Kiryat Yam, through the Urban Renewal Administration, is promoting four plans for the evacuation and construction of over 7,000 housing units, the first of which is expected to begin demolition this year.
City Engineer Yuval Baranov:
"In the past there were one-off projects of demolition and construction, but this is the first time that a residential building of several floors has been demolished and given way to a new building. I believe that this is a promising first swallow for the coming year."
All the best to you, my friend David Even - Tzur, the mayor of Kiryat Yam. God bless you David. Good Morning

How is Kiryat Yam related to Haifa and articles on a local website?
Unless it's a media attempt to bring examples from other cities
What is not clear in the title of the site "In Haifa and the surrounding area"
An entire city that needs immediate construction evacuation, the city needs to be razed and rebuilt, go to Nahariya and see what a glorious city, the most amazing seafront in the country, everything is absolutely perfect, a stunning promenade without thorns and ruins and buildings crumbling before your eyes.
You are comparing two populations, one is strong and pays taxes and the other is supported, a large part does not pay property taxes and a mayor who drinks coffee in Kiryat Bialik.
Drop in the ocean. In Kiryat Yam alone there are 300 housing buildings and buildings that are dilapidated and dilapidated with cracks that must be rebuilt
