The wind station in Bat Galim HaifaIn the Bat Galim neighborhood there is a windmill that was built by the Templars for the purpose of making flour.
The mill was established in 1874. It supplied the needs of the German colony, the city of Haifa and even supplied flour to remote settlements around Haifa, such as Zikrhon Ya'akov.
The mill operated using the wind and a steam engine was also installed in it, which operated it on days when there was no wind.
The station operated until the end of the Turkish period.
Today the mill serves as the home of the sculptor Finney Weinberg.
Address: 22 Aliyah Second St., Haifa
