For your information, parking in the area of the Carmel Beach train station in Haifa is prohibited between two and four, early in the morning!
If you were thinking of going out of Haifa for more than one day by train or bus from the HaCarmel Beach station, this time you will leave the car at home, because the Haifa Municipality has decided that parking in the HaCarmel Beach parking lots is prohibited for private vehicles between the hours of 02:00 and 04:00 in the morning.
That means anyone planning to leave the city for more than one day will no longer be able to leave their car without getting a report at the Carmel Beach parking lot next to the train station and the central Egged station.
In addition, the night clubbers among you will have to walk a little more to continue the entertainment after 02:00 in the morning at the recreation places in the area, or simply move the vehicle to another place before this time.
And if that's not enough, the new signage is neither clear nor detailed and may mislead many who will have to pay a bill.
Lahi Pa learned that the intention of the Haifa Municipality is to prevent the seizure of the parking lots in the seashore area by those flying abroad, who leave their vehicles near the Carmel Beach station as "long-term parking" and thus block the parking lots for those coming to the seashores.
For your information, residents of Haifa.
Haifa Municipality's response:
The Municipality of Haifa promotes free parking on urban bathing beaches through new parking arrangements on the southern bathing beaches. The parking regulations will come into effect on January 1, 2017, according to which:
1. No free parking will be allowed between 02:00 and 04:00 at night on Yohai Ben Nun Street in parking lots 5P, 6P, 7P, P9 and 10P.
2. Parking along the main roads on David Elazar and Yochai Ben Nun streets is prohibited at night.
The move is intended to ensure free parking for hundreds of thousands of visitors who visit Haifa's bathing beaches. This is after the recently increasing phenomenon of many residents flying abroad and parking their cars near the train until they return to Israel, which causes parking problems in the area and many have difficulty finding parking spaces.
In the first phase, only 2016 warning reports will be distributed and fees explaining the move and its thinking will be distributed. In the second stage, reports in the amount of NIS 250 will be recorded for parking contrary to the new parking regulations. Vehicles parked in violation of the law will be photographed and documented by the municipality's inspectors.
The declared bathing beaches of Haifa are among the few beaches in the country where parking is free. To this day, these parking spaces have been occupied, as mentioned, by many drivers from all over the north of the country who have used these parking lots as long-term parking lots available to them for free while they are abroad. The new parking arrangements allow the municipality to qualify thousands of parking spaces for the convenience of visitors, which are available to them at all hours of the day - for free.
As for those who want to park long-term on their way to Israel, for example, the municipality does not currently offer an alternative.

unbelievable!! We must oppose this decision!!
At least a map could be published. . . . And who knows what the P7 parking lot is, especially when you have to catch the train at 04:00 in the morning?
But what's new? The only large municipality in the country where there are no parking benefits for local residents. Not to mention benefits in the Carmel tunnels or city events.
The main thing is to have a budget for flashy summer parties (mainly for the use of non-residents), and to advertise the municipality in the style of giant green signs talking about the "planting phase..."
We all know what parking lots 5P, 6P, 7P, P9 and 10 are. Don't we??
It's easiest to abuse a citizen..
Because the monitoring of the pollutants that you are responsible for is already fully carried out.. (or not!!)
Because the ammonia tank was moved... (or not!!)
Because the Life Sciences Park is flourishing... (or not!!!)
Because the University of Haifa is ranked the lowest among the universities in Israel...
And if I want to travel and spend time in Tel Aviv and return the day after...?
And if sometimes it's late on a working day to stay to sleep in Tel Aviv..?..
So now I have to go to the center by car???
Parking cannot be completely banned. You can demand payment in 2-4 hours... but not give a report to the residents of Haifa who use the train and want to leave their car in the parking lot next to the train!!!
You're fed up, Rice, you're fed up!!!!
Once again the very old mayor Yona Yahav found a way to abuse the residents of Haifa by imposing large fines on residents who park cars late at night. He thinks the beach belongs to the municipality and forgets that the beach belongs to all the citizens and not a financial source to increase the municipality's income at the expense of the citizens. Mayor's role It is good to serve the residents of the city and not to look at them as a source of money to impose fines on. There are many restaurants and entertainment places that are open at night, and now he is hurting them and especially the residents of Haifa and preventing them from visiting there during the late hours of the night. The money of this mayor goes beyond all limits Makes sense. He has been in office for too long and should be replaced by a new energetic and intelligent person who will know how to faithfully serve the citizens of Haifa who will also want to enjoy the beach without burdening them with monstrous fines.
