The world's largest menorah presented its first candle in Haifa • Watch the opening night

A huge project by Yoav Ramati and the Haifa Tourism Association reminds us that Hanukkah today:
The largest Hanukkah in the world, which stretches over 250 meters and rises to a height of 60 meters, presented the first candle of Hanukkah on the roof of Beit Dagon and was observed from every house on the northern Carmel. On the front of the south wall this evening (Sunday, 18/12/22) a huge audio-visual show measuring 100-40 meters was presented, incorporating a unique "video-mapping" technology adapted to the structure. The Hanukkah and the performance will run every evening during the Hanukkah holiday.

New winner of the title of the largest menorah in the world:
The Haifa Tourism and Recreation Association headed by Mr. Yoav Ramati, which promotes tourism around deeply rooted Jewish centers in the city, is currently setting up an extraordinary performance on the roof of the Beit Dagon silos and a sonic light performance on the southern wall of the building: a huge menorah that will light up throughout the days of the holiday. The show will take place on all days of the holiday from 17:00 to 24:00.
The Beit Dagon plant, the state's wheat grain terminal, is located at the end of Ben Gurion Boulevard in the German colony in Haifa, which was all decorated with lights for the holiday.

A Haifa audio performance for Hanukkah

The representative extends over 250 meters and includes 6 laser projectors that create a complete image of 4000 square meters. During the days of the holiday, a 4-minute long video will be shown containing visual elements using advanced video technology of the stories of the holiday, the Israeli flag and various motifs of the Hanukkah holiday.
The video will be shown every 15 minutes and will give visitors to the city an extraordinary and enlightening experience.
Bonus for visitors who document: on the event website it will be possible to upload photos, tag the performance and win a 100m photo of your building. The images will be projected during the transition times between the videos.

On the main Independence Street, speakers will be set up to play the soundtrack of the videos, donuts will be distributed and holiday music will be played between the films. For viewers from other parts of the city, it will be possible to hear the soundtrack through the event website in live streaming HERE.

Unique technological production

A team of designers from various fields is working on the magnificent performance: content people, graphic designers, 3D people, animators, sound and editing people, video mafinig. The entire project at the level of the artistic content is executed and managed by Dotan Lidzi's office, Studio Haifai, in combination with some of the best animation and 3D people in Israel.
For the purpose of the project, a technical supplier, Gil Teichman, was chosen, who is responsible for placing 6 unique laser projectors that do not exist in Israel and have a power of 35,000 lumens (!) each, with the most advanced technology in the world.

The project is produced by the Athos company with precision and rigor on all the details required for the success of a project of this magnitude, while emphasizing safety and producing the maximum possible within the budget defined for the project.

Hanukkah attractions

As part of the festival of Hanukkah events in the city of Haifa and in addition to the multitude of attractions in the city, the most prominent of which is the Hanukkah display, the city of Haifa invites everyone, from the south to the north, to come and enjoy the unique holiday attractions offered by the city, while alongside the spectacular display you can enjoy tours of the Louis Promenade, Antiquities of Shekmona, Stella Maris, Creative workshops in the spirit of antiquity, sensory tours, manukah tours, graffiti and more.

The Haifa Tourism and Recreation Association headed by Yoav Ramati chose to focus this year's Hanukkah celebrations on tourism around deeply rooted Jewish centers in the city of Haifa. In and around Haifa there are many Jewish sites, including the Eliyahu Cave, the tomb of Rabbi Abdimi Daman Haifa, the Ramban's tomb, ancient synagogues and more. This year's celebrations will focus on Jewish heroism, devotion and faith, so the symbols will also be joined by the Hanukkah representative, created on the basis of the scroll of Antiochus and symbolizing the miracle of the tin of oil that is celebrated on Hanukkah days.

  1. Some kind of nationalist nonsense that is suitable for kindergarten children and not for the intelligentsia among them.
Another fireworks show for the people. come on.

  2. For the avoidance of doubt, I welcome any action that creates an atmosphere of culture and creates interest in the city of Haifa in all the sectors that come.
I read about the integration of a virtual menorah on the roof of the Dagon silos and I must point out that the idea was initiated by the director of the culture department Uri Blum and the Teichman company was a partner in the planning, the execution was supposed to be carried out through ATFAH.
I am writing this to commemorate the name of the initiator who is not with us and the interview is reserved for him.
    He deserves it

  3. This nonsense did not and will not bring a single tourist. Chanukah is not. And showing pictures from Haifa to tourists who are already in Haifa is psychosis.
The great economic miracle of Ramati who spent NIS 600 thousand on this nothing, the only question is which of his members is the richest...

  4. I saw the representative yesterday at 20:15 from the Loui walk, nice. I'm sorry, but where is the menorah?
Are the 9 lanterns on the roof of the silos supposed to be the candles?

  5. Definitely very impressive. There is no doubt that we will go see the special performance! Well done!

  6. Did the projectors that will screen the entire above-mentioned event receive approval from the Ministry of Health?
It's a little scary that they are trying something new that hasn't been done in Israel yet on the residents of Haifa

  7. Strengthening Jewish identity! Well done for the initiative and who will let more municipalities follow this message...

  8. I am actually pleased that there is a celebration of coexistence between the populations of Haifa.
Kudos to the initiators and performers.

  9. What a beauty.. We finished with Christmas when you choked our passage near the German colony and forced the public to travel in paid tunnels because it is endlessly congested there.. So now you set up this nonsense?
    Tired of this city already.

  10. Cliche: There is not half a million shekels for making public buildings in Haifa accessible to the disabled and those with limited mobility
Also cliché: it is not the municipality's role to entertain the public
Also cliché: the laser show is stupid and dazzles the public and will be a hazard canceling the project with the Ministry of Tourism
Also cliché: but take 600 thousand NIS and spend it on a laser show in Dagon
Also cliché: but we will maintain the status quo
Also cliché: but shuttles on Saturday
Also cliché: but not a bus and Carmelite on Shabbat
    Pierre, we got confused.
But she seems much, much more confused.

    • I wonder how many people were cold yesterday because they don't have money for an air conditioner.

  11. A menorah that has no trace of a menorah but consumes electricity that people do not have money to consume privately, A menorah that has no trace of a menorah but consumes electricity that people do not have money to consume privately,

    Sensory tours and graffiti.
    "Hanukkah".

  12. What kind of menorah I didn't see any hint of menorah. Just a few tulip lights, beautiful but to say Chanukah. The colors are beautiful and spectacular. thousand letter Who recommended really the landlord went crazy. And I'm counting the days, although there is a time for this troll to fly, what does she confirm? In short, Hanukkah. So much light that shows how much of a dump the city looks like.

  13. All the best for the idea and the execution in honor of Hanukkah. Happy Orim to all the people of Israel in Israel and in the diaspora.

  14. A waste of NIS 600!!! that go down the drain for this nothing
The LED spotlights are reminiscent of the two 9-11 spotlights in the twin bombings in New York.
Who the hell thought it was special and original to associate us with the twin disaster.

    • What does the twin attack have to do with it?
There were two spotlights but you are so closed in thinking that it is bad so you immediately find yourself linking it to an event that no one else would have thought to link,
Hanukkah is a holiday of miracle and joy and food and family and when you have to celebrate, celebrate then be a little happy when something good happens in the city, which is the most genius idea related to Hanukkah that I have heard.

    • People with opinions like yours are (as if you pay from your own pocket?) the ones who destroyed and are destroying every experience and every good taste in the country.

    • Why always complain, accept with love and joy, there is no need and nothing to do with the Twin Towers, it's a shame that tries to destroy something

    • Entertain people who don't ask questions and only enjoy bread and entertainment - creating an opening for a corrupt and tainted country where huge sums of money go through no way - sometimes there isn't half a million shekels to make public buildings in Haifa accessible to the disabled and sometimes there is half a million shekels for an 8-day show of radiation and lasers. At the end of these lies, the residents come back to us with a boomerang of raising property taxes + reduced services and harming us in order to "entertain" us with such public relations (an election year after all...)
Who remembers the mayor saying that it is not the municipality's job to entertain and amuse? Oh well, we forgive her for zigzagging every two days... OK, she also says that there isn't half a million shekels to make buildings accessible for the elderly and disabled and then goes and throws it at lasers. In another month, the bill for raising property taxes will be submitted to the public, the lasers will disappear and the buildings will continue to be blocked for the disabled. Bravo, applause!!!
