The "Bnei Zion" medical center provides a routine response to the residents of Haifa and the north. The opening of the protected center for emergency medicine and day hospitalization will allow it to continue to provide service even in times of emergency. The new center will provide a solution for treatment in times of distress under enemy missiles, atomic, chemical and biological warfare and various emergency scenarios such as earthquakes and natural disasters.

Rocket threats
The need for a protected center arose even more strongly during the Second Lebanon War, during which the hospital was subjected to rocket threats, and on the last day of the fighting it even suffered a direct hit from a rocket that damaged property. Following the war, an underground hospital ward was established, but the need to protect the general emergency room, where the war wounded came, among others, remained the same.
The new protected emergency room will provide an answer to this, and will contain 35 hospitalization beds during routine, including seven sitting treatment positions. In times of emergency it will be possible to expand its occupancy to 53 beds. Along with the importance of protection, there is an expectation that the new emergency room will help shorten the waiting times of those applying to the emergency room.

Present at the opening ceremony of the new center were the donors of the funds for its construction - the philanthropists Shafer and Helmsley, the representatives of the Friendship Foundation, the outgoing Minister of Health MK Nitzan Horowitz, the CEO of the Bnei Zion Medical Center Dr. Ohad Hochman, the Mayor of Haifa Ms. Einat Kalisch-Rotem, The head of the Dalit Al Carmel local council Mr. Rafik Halavi, MK Sharon Rufa Ofir, former MK Mr. Moshe Kahlon, former deputy mayor of Haifa Mr. David Etzioni and more.

At the ceremony, the Minister of Health, Mr. Nitzan Horowitz, spoke, who emphasized the importance of a strong public health system, and praised the construction of the new tabernacle, along with a blessing that we will not face emergency situations that would justify its use. He was followed by the mayor, Mrs. Einat Kalish-Rotem, who said that the city of Haifa ranks high in its preparedness for emergency incidents, and thanked those involved in the establishment of the new center for helping the city improve this preparedness.

Philanthropist George W. spoke at the event. Schaefer with his partner Irena, who told about the meaning of medical assistance even for one person. According to him, helping a single person also helps his family, helping the family helps the community, and helping the community helps the country. He also added that it is important for him to help the State of Israel because he sees it as a symbol of hope for future generations, especially as a son of Holocaust survivor parents.

The philanthropists Harry and Leona Helmsley also added that philanthropy stems from the feeling that if you have abundance, you should give it away, in their eyes the key word in philanthropy is "impact". According to them, contributing to health has a great impact, certainly at the Bnei Zion Medical Center, which caters to a wide and diverse population.

Congratulations. The mayor of Haifa, Dr. Einat Kalish Rotem, also helped a lot in the inauguration of the Bnei Zion Medical Center in Haifa in cooperation with the CEO of the medical center, Dr. Ehud Hochman. God bless you.
Now it is clear that this government hospital will not move any further.
Since the municipality of Haifa sold it to the State of Israel, in exchange for lentils, huge sums have been invested in it by the State of Israel.
This hospital is also protected and strengthened against earthquakes. Of course, all these public funds cannot be allowed to be lost - if this hospital is transferred to Kiryat. Therefore, the default for transfer to Kiryat remains the Carmel Hospital. There the state will partially benefit from the funds of the general health fund.
As someone who was hospitalized in the Corona ward in Bnei Zion during the plague, I am amazed at the honorable philanthropists who chose to donate to this trash hospital that kept the Corona patients in shameful conditions without any consideration for them.
Patients get the full royalty
I did not understand. Bnei Zion Hospital has been designated as the hospital that will move from Haifa to Kiryat Ata to the medical center under construction there.
So building a protected emergency room in a hospital that is going to close and move? Or they will move the Carmel Hospital, which is also where a donation was built
Protected sorting? Or will they leave only these emergency rooms?
How does this fit with the desire of the two hospitals to move to Kiryat Ata?
