(haipo) - Deputy Mayor Sophie Nakash and Councilwoman Sharit Golan Steinberg asked the court to join the petition of the parents of children with special needs against Mayor Einat Kalish Rotem, her deputy Nachshon Tzuk, municipal treasurer Shmuel Marmelstein and the municipality.
In the petition, the parents claim that their children were prevented from continuing the sailing activity that is very beneficial to them, due to the defendants' desire to evacuate them from the Pacific coast. The parents request relief from the court so that the children can continue their activities.
"Let them move to another place"
As I recall, in recent months the Haifa municipality and the sailing club have been unable to reach an agreement regarding the continuation of activities on the Pacific coast, with each party claiming that the other party is responsible for this. The boating association claims that they complied with all the requirements set by the municipality and yet the municipality does not allow the children to continue the activity. The municipality claims that the association cannot be allowed to continue its activities on the Pacific Coast. Moreover, at the city council meeting held last month, Kalish Rotem addressed the issue when she said that the children's activities could be resumed, but for that they must vacate the quiet beach and move to another place.
In their application to the court, Nakash and Golan Steinberg state that they serve as the chairman of the finance committee and the chairman of the finance committee, respectively, and they request to join the petition in order to promote the decision of the finance committee dated October 23, in which everything necessary for the extension of the municipality's engagement in the agreement to place a vessel was approved Sailing in favor of sailing activities on the Pacific coast.
"There is no reason that justifies not signing the agreement"
Golan Steinberg said to Hai Fa: "We decided, Deputy Mayor Sophie Nakash and I, to join the petition, to help children on the autistic spectrum who have been experiencing, together with the other members of the sailing club, severe abuse for no reason on the part of Mayor Kalish and Nachshon Tzuk in his place, and all due to completely foreign considerations. , who do not see the benefit of Haifa's sailing associations. I really hope that the court will agree to join us in this important petition so that we can prove to the judge that there is no reason that justifies not signing the agreement and I hope that within a month the children will be able to join the activity."
Conflicts with various parties
Over the past 4 years we have witnessed quite a few confrontations going on between Kalish Rotem and deputy Nachshon Tzuk and various parties, in the city and outside of it. Complaints were heard from various government ministries about a lack of cooperation on the part of the municipality and on the part of the municipality it was once claimed that government ministries are not really interested in the good of the city.
Still, the insistence on not reaching an agreement about the Pacific coast and not allowing autistic children to enjoy boating, which is so important to them, seems particularly puzzling. Over the course of months, the lawyers of the association and the municipality were in contact to find a way to continue the activity, and the association constantly claimed that they were ready to comply with any municipal demand in order not to stop the activity, and despite this, the children still cannot continue their activity on the Pacific Coast.
