The championship in Limassol
In the World Youth Windsurfing Championship in Bik model (youth model), Limassol November 2022, 8 members of the delegation from Israel participated in the under 15 age group: 4 boys and 4 girls. Out of all the sailing and windsurfing clubs in Israel, athletes from two clubs made it to the Israeli team from Haifa Sailing Club and Sdot Yam Sailing Club.
At the opening ceremony of the World Championship it was evident that the organizers, athletes and coaches were excited by the event and the status. The city of Limassol was very proud to host the competition, which lasted for five days. Each day there were between three and four cruises, so the winner is decided according to the cumulative position in all the days of the competition. On the first day of the competition, the surfers went out to sea at 13:XNUMX p.m., but were soon returned to the beach for fear of a lightning storm approaching from the sea. The storm did not reach the coast, but the wind dropped. Thus, after hours of nerve-wracking waiting and being ready to go to the competition, the surfers dispersed in the hope that the next day the weather would be suitable for sailing.
