About one hundred and twenty swimmers, kayakers and SUP rowers jumped this morning (Friday, 21/10/22) for the public swim at Bat Galim beach in Haifa. The anointing was accompanied by volunteers of the Haifa Sailing Association

(live here in the sea) - A community event to mark 100 years of the Bat Galim neighborhood will be held at the local beach on Friday 21/10/22, between 7:30 and 10:00.
A folk parade to mark 100 years of the Bat Galim neighborhood in Haifa, will take place without measuring times and will jump for distances of 1 km and 1.5 km. The sapim cruise will be for a distance of 3 and 5 km.
Open to the general public
Participation in the swim is open to the general public, for safety reasons it is mandatory to swim with a back buoy.
The event is an initiative of the Sports Authority of the Haifa Municipality, in cooperation with the Beaches Division, the Sailing Association and the Sea Poetry Association, and the open water swimming groups, whose members swim every day on Haifa's beaches, and in particular at Bat Galim beach, took part in its preparation.

"Bat Galim is one of the oldest and most beautiful neighborhoods in Haifa, blessed with one of the most beautiful beaches in Israel. I invite the male and female swimmers to take part in a popular, fun and meaningful event for the city of Haifa.'

Lori Hachmon, a resident of Bat Galim, a multidisciplinary artist who even participated in the 12th Beit Galim festival held on Hol HaMoed in the Bat Galim neighborhood. These days she is working together with other friends on the establishment of the "Shirat Hayam" association, which aims to develop water sports and has contributed with her extensive experience in creating collaborations between various parties in the neighborhood, as a scapegoat to cast artistic, creative and colorful content for the event.
