The culture of dirt? This is what the Congress Center parking lot in Haifa looks like

live here Inquiries were received about dirt in the large open parking lot of the congress center. The dirt has been visible in the place for several days without anyone taking care and cleaning. The Hai Pa system contacted the Haifa municipality, from where it was stated that the area is not its responsibility but the responsibility of the congress center. But following our appeal, the Haifa municipality sent cleaning workers on its behalf to clean the area.

A resident of the city told Lahi Pa:
"It's not pleasant to arrive at the parking lot and see the dirt scattered everywhere. As a resident of Haifa, I want to walk around a city that maintains cleanliness. Clean streets, clean sidewalks, and clean parking lots."

The management of the Congress Center informed Lahi Pa:
"This is an open and free parking lot that is used not only by the congress center island but by everyone, including fans who come to Sami Ofer, also the buses and trucks. It is not a closed parking lot that we have control over, therefore we cannot keep it clean 24/7. We We are doing our best to keep the parking lot clean, but we would be happy for the municipality to take part as well, even if it is not an area under its responsibility, and the parking lot island should be kept clean, it's just a matter of culture."

The Haifa Municipality informed Haifa:
"This is the area that is owned by the congress center, but following an application by Hai Pa, the place was cleaned by the municipality."

  1. Everyone, before complaining about the general dirt, should go down for five minutes to the garden of their house or street corner and check that they are clean and well-kept, and if your garden is full of scraps and weeds, don't complain about others. Do yours.

  2. Uriel is right.
Everyone should live for a few years in a reformed country, by getting proportions for cleanliness.
    Education starts at home

  3. Since she assumed the position of the current mayor. Haifa is undergoing a serious attack in terms of supervision and cleanliness. As it was said in those days, there is no king in Israel that a light man in his eyes will do. The question is why can't the mayor be fired. In the last two years, Haifa has gone back ten years

  4. The municipality went bankrupt in terms of enforcement and cleaning. No supervision, no enforcement. For the mayor's information: In the past, the municipality enforced a municipal bylaw that required every business owner to wash the sidewalk in front of the business. Besides the cleaning, it is also an education for cleaning.
It is doubtful whether the current mayor understands her role.

  5. It has nothing to do with the responsibility of who is in this area!!!
It is related to the culture of cleanliness here in Israel.

  6. If indeed the area is the responsibility of the congress center, why does the municipality not enforce the state of cleanliness. After all, the municipality is paid hundreds of thousands of shekels a year for removing garbage from businesses as well, so why does the municipality bury its head in the sand? Why do you ask, because Haifa has become a dirty city, so why bother with a parking lot in the south of the city.

  7. I would like to know, who is this entity called -
"The owners of the congress center", isn't this a subsidiary of the Haifa Municipality, hiding under another guise?
H H H - And they are quarreling among themselves about the responsibility for the territory?
When the huge parking lot was "lent" in the past to the IDF, for a reserve exercise, or for the needs of the Ministry of Health -
    Corona, by whom?
If it was private property - it wouldn't be illegal!!

  8. Unfortunately, the dirt in Haifa is everywhere, even in areas that are the responsibility of the municipality. I live in Sdot Hanasi - the corner of Shaar HaLebanon St. and walk with my dog every day on Shaar HaLebanon St. The garden is always polluted. When I saw the dirt from last Friday on Sunday morning, I asked the municipality not to leave the garden dirty for the day of Simchat Torah. The garden does remain dirty, but yesterday they washed the paths. I saw a pressurized sprayer blowing the dirt, papers and cigarette butts from the paths into the plants. This is cleanliness
on behalf of the municipality. Of course the garden, as always, is filthy.
I often see municipal cleaning workers with a bucket, a broom and a spike sitting on a bench in the shade and playing on the phone. When I dare to remark to one of them, the laconic answer is always: I need to clean there, not here. A municipal employee who cleans the path will not touch a piece of paper that has fallen on the sides of the path. Besides instructing cleaning workers, even if they are not gardeners, they are allowed to pick up pieces of paper and other dirt that has fallen between the plants or near them.
Besides the cleaning workers of the municipality and the gardeners, another problem is the common Israeli. This morning, for example, I saw a pile of garbage, the remains of a pizza dinner probably from last night, on a bench. A meter from the bench there is a trash can. Why didn't those who ate the pizza bother to walk that meter and throw the leftovers in the trash? The resident Israeli must be educated to maintain cleanliness and guide the municipality's employees to clean everything.
This morning, for example, the garbage workers took a wooden pallet that Louisa Cafe had thrown by the garbage cans yesterday. The pallet was covered with nylon that covered the goods they received on that pallet. The nylon was left thrown on the floor. why???

  9. I completely agree with you. The city is so neglected. There is no enforcement, there is no supervision of the cleaning workers, the garbage culture has settled in the hearts of the citizens. A large-scale operation is needed to overcome the amounts of garbage and then inspection and supervision

  10. The municipality should take out the thousands of workers for urban cleaning operations
And at the same time to fine not only for parking lots but for garbage in the fields and yards.
One of the persistent problems is construction workers and contractors, and homeowners who are renovating need to be obliged in advance to report to the municipality in advance what the arrangement is
Garbage disposal. If they skimp on a container or think it would be possible to leave an entire house next to the garbage cans in the nearby streets
So inform in advance that they will be fined for the lack of a garbage solution. Transfer this charge to the hands of the residents because construction waste and renovations
This is one of the biggest problems in the whole city today. Sometimes a week of furniture, old kitchens and cupboards thrown away next to bins, what is third world behavior, nowhere in the world are there such things.
