The Lev Hash Association, which provides assistance to disadvantaged sections of society, families, the sick and the needy, opens the year with a lot of work and is in the midst of building a hotel for children with cancer and their families in cooperation and with the donation of the Fatal hotel chain Mr. David Fatal, the National Insurance Funds and other donors.
Yor of the association and president of Elbit Yossi Akerman gave a message to Haifa:
The hotel will cater to parents and their children with cancer who come from far away and face, in addition to caring for their children, an exhausting daily routine that involves long trips to chemotherapy and biological day treatments without hospital admission, an exhausting routine especially after the children are weak from the disease and the treatments, that's why we also decided to establish it near the hospital Rambam as a place to rest for the families and as a center for support and assistance that will ease their suffering a little during this complex time.
The hotel will have 15 guest rooms, a dining room, a large area for leisure activities, healing and occupation, a study center that will allow children to complete educational material and a treatment center that will be operated by a social worker and emotional and alternative therapists. The hotel is expected to open in the coming months.
The association is based on regular volunteers who donate their time and volition to help and support the various programs and activities. The hundreds of volunteers come out of love and desire to act and contribute significantly for others. Some of the volunteers have been working in the association for many years, and new volunteers join every year.
25 years of working for the community
"The association has been operating for 25 years in a wide variety of fields: providing assistance to needy families, providing support and assistance to sick children and their families, and assistance to the elderly." The chairman of the association and former president of Elbit, Yossi Ackerman, says and adds: "The association aims to promote and establish projects for the community and the disadvantaged populations. The hotel project is one of a large number of projects that we lead that meet a significant need and offer long-term solutions."
