A corona vaccination campaign for toddlers has begun in the entire Haifa district
In accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, a corona vaccination campaign for toddlers, from the age of six months to the age of 5, has begun in the Haifa district and the Western Galilee in general. Parents will be able to choose whether to vaccinate their children with the Pfizer vaccine given in three doses and the Moderna vaccine given in two doses, when both vaccines were approved last month by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

Dr. Farah Hana, a pediatrician and specialist in infectious diseases in the Haifa district in general, explains:
"The dose given to children is much lower than that of adults (FDA), the Ministry of Health recommends vaccinating babies and toddlers at high risk of hospitalization and complications against corona. The risk factors for serious and significant morbidity in babies include premature birth, obesity, congenital or acquired immunosuppression, as well as cardiac, pulmonary and renal diseases Chronicity.
You should consider vaccinating children who are near a family member with risk factors for significant morbidity, and the Ministry of Health allows parents who wish to vaccinate healthy children who are not in a risk group.
The decision to vaccinate the toddlers in the aforementioned age group remains in the hands of the parents and at their discretion, taking into account the child's immune status and his background diseases individually."

Rinat Besel, the district director of nursing at Haifa General:
