City Quest Haifa hosts the Maccabiah competitors from all over the world
Dadi Chen, the owner of "City Quest" Haifa in the lower city, has recently been hosting groups of teenagers from all over the world who come to compete in Maccabiah, and along the way enjoy what Haifa has to offer. City Quest is an escape game, which takes place outside, on the streets of the downtown. At first you meet and get an explanation about the game, then you go out and start trying to solve the puzzle with the help of the clues that are planted all over the downtown. Chen has been operating the place for 4 years. Dozens of similar game complexes exist around the world.

Chen is a resident of the city, married and the father of 3 children, 54 years old. His wife Gabi takes an active part in the business and is responsible for marketing, while Chen is the one who invented the puzzles. Chen explains that the love for solving puzzles has accompanied him for many years and 4 years ago he imported the format of the escape game and since then he has been running it and bringing more and more groups to the city, who learn to get to know the city through the game.
In preparation for the Maccabiah Games, City Quest Haifa was chosen as one of the businesses hosting the gymnastic groups that came to Maccabiah from all over the globe. In the last few days he hosts teams from England, Argentina and more, and says that the youths really, really enjoy the game and he enjoys watching them play, make an effort and also start singing in the middle of the street at 22:00 PM at night and bring life and joy to the city.

"City Quest is a unique game experience, based on the most advanced technologies in the world, location-based tasks and other surprises," says Chen, "the experience blurs the line between reality and imagination and turns the city into a particularly exciting playground. Thanks to the game, youth and adults come to Haifa to play and then they We already stay in our city and spend time here. We are the only ones in Israel that offer such a game, which is not closed in a room and does not have a limit on the number of participants. A few years ago I thought about how suitable the game is for young people from all over the world, who come to Israel as part of the "Discovery" project. Usually if they have 10 days in Israel, they divide them between Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, the Dead Sea and Eilat. They don't come to Haifa. I approached the management and presented the game and since then Taglit buses have been coming to the city all the time and they are running through the streets of the lower city and having a lot of fun. Haifa has a lot to offer For tourists, the challenge is to bring them to the city so that they can enjoy our city."
Today it is impossible to play a game or solve puzzles without technology. Each team in the game receives an iPad and other technological aids, in order to succeed in saving the world.

The game is called "The Last Seal" and it allows participants to step into the shoes of intelligence agents and save Haifa from a radical terrorist organization. A giant biotech corporation tries to recreate the plague that struck the Crusaders by releasing a deadly virus in Haifa. The role of the player is to stop the horror that may, heaven forbid, destroy the world.
It should be noted that there are many escape rooms in Haifa and Kiryat. Each escape room has a certain story, a bank robbery, the sinking of a submarine and much more, and those who play enter the escape room and have to solve the clues in a predetermined time in order to succeed. The uniqueness of City Quest is that there are no walls, the game takes place in the streets of the downtown, with the players running around the city looking for the parts of the last seal.
A short and objective response as the owner of the place 🙂 - at the end of the competitive and fun game, we make sure to hold a summary segment that includes a presentation and other puzzles related to the history of the city from the days of Dahar El Omer until today, including the story of the symbol of the municipality of Haifa. In this way, all participants enjoy a double benefit - both an experience of playing, adrenaline and competition, and also the added value of learning about the history of the city.
Yes, it is also correct to distribute this game in schools in Haifa so that the children learn about their hometown.
Well done for the resourcefulness of such a game that brings tourists closer to learning about Haifa through their feet. It leaves experiences and a good taste to return to visit and stay in our beautiful Haifa.
Haifa does not need escape games, Haifa is an escape game. There are those who have succeeded and there are those who are trying and others have given up and are locked in it voluntarily
charming.
Are the young people of Haifa also exposed to the escape game in their city?
Chen and Gavi, lots of success, great idea. It is very encouraging to read that the athletes are enjoying themselves, and thus getting to know our city. ??
