An amazing and unusual figure: 31% of the area of Carmel Castle is actually natural sites
The survey by the Society for the Protection of Nature, with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, states that over a third of the area of Carmel Castle is defined as nature sites.
Nature erupts from all sides
It has been said about Carmel Castle for years that the view is spectacular and nature erupts from all sides.
The Society for the Protection of Nature, with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, conducted a comprehensive and extensive survey, as part of which the natural infrastructure in the Carmel Castle was mapped. In the survey, the open areas in the city were divided into 15 different nature sites, and then the amazing figure became clear, that 31% of the city's area is defined as nature sites.
This is an exciting figure by all accounts, which is very doubtful if it exists in another city throughout Israel.
The survey also revealed that in the natural areas of the city there are many habitats for special and intriguing plants and crops, and that Carmel Castle is one of the few cities in Israel that combines both mountain habitats and crops in a coastal environment.
Varied and rich vegetation
In the survey, 489 species of wild plants were recorded, of which 8 species of plants are in danger of extinction, 47 species of protected plants and 41 flowering sites, where magnificent flowers thrive, such as the Asian lily, the beach lily, and more.
Hundreds of animal species, including those in danger of extinction
In the survey, 288 different species of animals were also recorded in the city's natural areas, of which 19 are endangered species, including the biblical eagle, peregrine falcon, and green toad, as well as 213 species of birds, of which 49 are nesting species, including the white-breasted kingfisher, common shrew, and more.
"I live in a perfect nature reserve"
When the surprising findings of the survey were brought to the city's entrepreneurs who were enthusiastic about the impressive data and numbers, one of them suddenly said: "I have lived in this city for decades and I never knew that I actually live in a perfect nature reserve."
The Ministry of Tourism also emphasized the enormous tourist potential of Carmel Castle and in recent months a comprehensive "master plan" for tourism was prepared for the city, in preparation for its transformation into a national tourist center.
Tourism and attractions
Already today, many visitors come to the city to tour and travel in it and leave it for hiking trails to the Carmel Park, on the way enjoying the natural sights of the city, the Ein Kedem spring and the other tourist attractions in it, including those that were established within the city itself and receive many visits.
A historic upheaval
As you know, Carmel Castle has been undergoing a tremendous historical transformation in the last decade following the urban renewal plan under which new neighborhoods were built, the latest in architecture and construction, and already in the coming years the city is going to double the number of its residents.
Nature, community and peace
A significant part of the new residents of Carmel Castle are residents of the various cities in the north, who chose to leave the noise and suffocation and live in a small city with tremendous nature on all sides, rich community life, peace and calm.
The campaigns funded by the Ministry of Housing for Carmel Castle are embarrassing on another level.
Hahahahaha…
