not fiction
(lives here in the neighborhood) - Three and a half years after Klish declared that the neighborhood committees are a fiction, the Israeli movement arrives and helps to re-establish the neighborhood committees in Haifa. In recent months, several local conferences of the round table have been held and now the movement marks a target for the establishment of ten neighborhood committees in Haifa.
Liat Halpern, the coordinator of the movement in Haifa, invites activists and interested parties to an open conference, which will be held on Thursday, 14/7/22, at 19:30 p.m., in Neve Shanan, Religious Center, 39 High School Street.
The conference will have intriguing lectures, an open discussion and also an open invitation for neighborhood activists to step up. Halpern rejects the rumors of a subversive organization, also invites Klish to join the process and is already marking successes.
◄ Watch the interview I conducted with Liat, in which she explains the entire process:
The official invitation to the conference - from the Israeli movement:
Ahead of a major move to establish neighborhood committees in the city, prominent activists in the city are holding a leading conference
On Thursday 14/7/22, at 19:30 PM, a conference of nearly 39 activists and social activities from the city will be held in Neve Sha'anan, Religious Center, 100 High School Street. The purpose of the conference is to lead a move to strengthen civil power in many neighborhoods in the city. The conference is organized by residents from 10 neighborhoods and the "Israeli Movement" during which there will be 3 lectures in which case studies from other settlements in Israel where resident organizations have succeeded in influencing the urban space will be presented.
The first lecture will be given by Meir Abarzel, a member of the Ashdod city council and in charge of the old neighborhoods portfolio, who will tell about the "Ashdod movement", which he is one of the founders of - an urban democratic movement that has been operating for almost a decade. The second lecture will be given by Ibtisam Mahamid, a social activist from Fordyce who led social changes and the promotion of women's rights in the settlement and even won international awards for her activities. The third lecture will be given by Racheli Tadhar Kener who will present "Our Tivoon": a civil movement in Kiryat Tivoon, which is based on the participation of residents and the community. The movement entered the settlement council in 2018.
Eran Shulman, one of the leaders of the move, said: "I'm from Haifa and I'm not ready to give up Haifa, I'm not a politician and I don't want to be! I want to change things for the sake of my children and all the residents of the city. We are the residents and the power is in our hands."
Mimi Peretz, a prominent activist in the city: I call on every resident who can get involved in the movement to come and take part, only together can we create a significant impact and change the waters here for the better... Do it in other places in the country, there is no reason why the Haifaites should not do it in Haifa as well.
Paz Glickman, a resident of Neve Shanan: "The neighborhood is the beating heart of every city, especially in Haifa. A neighborhood council, which represents the residents, is the best way to take care of the residents of the neighborhood for their needs and connect the communities in the neighborhood. It's time for the heart of the city to beat with power and efficiency."
An Israeli movement assists in the establishment of neighborhood committees in various centers in the country and also accompanies the residents of Haifa. The northern district coordinator of the movement, Liat Halperin: "The residents of Haifa are leading an extraordinary move in the framework of which no less than 10 new neighborhood committees are to be established! This is something that is not seen anywhere in Israel and we are happy and proud to stand by the residents in this move, we all believe in this city."

The neighborhood committees. A body appointed by the politicians for the needs of transferring public funds to their activists.
Hello
There is no doubt that this is an important and logical move. The neighborhood committees help to improve the face of neighborhoods that do not always have a listening ear in the municipality.
Decentralization works for the benefit of the citizen

Why do we need new committees? where are the old ones?
Finally ! The cancellation of the residents' silence has come to an end!
Successfully !
mere. Good Morning
They tried to join the Hadar Council and were rejected due to lack of interest and lack of clarity as to what their interests were. Everything was very dim and condescending as if all the solutions and answers were in their hands.
Companies and members of the Hadar council understood the problem and it's a good thing.
She joins her opponent Sagi, who together with the chairman of the parents' committee, Beno Paz, led the fight against the closing of the Gabrieli school. Boaz and Elam from the body called the Israeli Movement offered their help which turned out to be an attempt to control and brand the struggle under their name in order to gain a reputation in Haifa. Financing of several flyers in which they appear as the leaders of the struggle and nothing else. They made contact with another group within the community and in our opinion led to a rift and incitement against Yore and the parents' committee which stood alone in the battle like a tigress, knew how to go and confront Klish and receive insults from her in public but not give up.
She found herself forced to face another front within her community that was created because of the division created by members of the Israeli movement.
I recommend staying away from them. It is not clear what they really want and it would be better if activists knew how to organize themselves or with real trusted people and not a millionaire who comes from Jaffa to Haifa for reasons that I think are very far from real ideology.
Do not cooperate with them to remove them from the city
Association lol fly away
We just sound like another body that came out of nowhere trying to catch fish with a rod.
In Haifa we have already tasted the "democracy" in which this movement believes. In the struggle to prevent the closure of the Gabrieli school, they came here as if for good, threw a few shekels to the leader of the struggle and then simply tried to take over the decision-making process. When it didn't go their way, they even acted against the original group of the struggle and tried to form a rival group! I wouldn't go near them.
