Through the eye of the fish, and a word about us, humans
The general public doesn't get to know life underwater much. As we know, animals also have needs, desires and even feelings. Those who dive a lot in their company know for sure that the animals under the water communicate with each other, and also with humans, each in their own unique way. About dolphins and marine mammals this is a well-known fact, but what about the other sea animals?

The wisdom of the octopus
Octopuses and squids, for example, are considered the most intelligent of all molluscs. Many of you must have watched the nature film "Morthy the Octopus" (Craig Foster, 2020, Netflix). What will I tell you? From my acquaintance with this special animal, everything is true to the truth.

The culture of consumption
We all love sea turtles and want to see this magnificent marine reptile living and enjoying itself in its natural habitat.
But in order for this to happen, we should look through the lens of the camera at these animals, then maybe we will begin to understand how much many of them are affected by the advancement and consumption culture of humans, which we have long since become accustomed to, and many more continue to advance without ceasing.

'Drunk' sea tongs
Photographs like the ones in front of you are quite rare to see, and certainly not easy to photograph in real time.
For example, in this photo, where a sea pincer is seen trying to bite into a beer bottle... the photo was taken in front of Meridian Beach. Unbelievable how much man harms this precious asset, the sea and its inhabitants. Obviously the placement was moved away by me, I picked up the bottle and threw it in the recycling bin.

Various objects
Many other objects are found in the depths of the sea or circulate among the animals and cause severe damage, often ones that no one ever knew about... masses of lead weights, nylon cords, plastic objects and much more, a host of "attractions" that do not belong to marine nature, such as old asbestos shutters, Tires, miscellaneous items, anything you can think of.

Useful intelligence
There are cases in which the animals find garbage that humans throw away, and use it to their advantage. Sunken ships (not ones that were sunk on purpose to create an artificial reef) initially cause environmental damage, but with the passage of time, nature, as it knows so well, recovers and makes the hazard its own, and various sea creatures settle on the ship, and slowly it becomes the ship Artificial tongue.

"exploitation" of the hazard
Such a process takes a very long time, but the end result is that nature, as usual, finds a way around human damage and knows how to adapt and use it to its advantage.

Maria Schrader
Those who were in the area of the Straits of Tiran could see the German ship "Maria Schreider" that boarded Shirton. It was a stormy night, in the Red Sea, the initial damage was great. But over time, little by little and over many years, the ship became a diving site for shark enthusiasts. Today it is used as a home for various marine animals.

The power of life
The photographs may illustrate to you the tremendous power of nature. You will be able to imagine for a moment the miraculous life force of nature, literally as a living and breathing body, fighting for its life with formidable forces and unimaginable wisdom. You have proof, one of many: in the photo you can see a large plastic sheet on which several species of fish have laid eggs.

It doesn't always end well
God forbid it should be heard that "it's fine", that "nature is working out", first of all, because as mentioned, many damages are indeed caused by the waste that finds its way to the sea. Let's not forget, for example, that plastic tears or breaks into small pieces and reaches the stomachs of many marine creatures, turtles may recognize plastic bags as jellyfish and suffocate from them. In the photo before you, the boy "rushes" in the direction of a piece of plastic that could definitely cause his death.

Thank you very much Motti, again my sea and animal stories. thanks for sharing . exciting. ?
Brightens my eyes every time...
Compensation for the fact that I haven't dived for a long time to meet my friends who live in our waters.. Good luck..
Number one as a marine photographer and researcher, a fascinating article!
Shafu Moti, the most genuine in the world! God-made holiness in the face of man-made damage
Amazing photos and as usual an enriching article. Yes, they will multiply!!
