Have you started a new path, a new occupation, are you finally fulfilling an old dream at the age of 60+? excellent! I'm looking for you exactly!
First of all, I'll introduce myself: nice to meet you (for those who haven't had enough yet), I'm Thidi Frank (in the future) grandmother of ten grandchildren of all ages: one is in the army (so big, remembers being born...) and the youngest is 12... (wants to be big already...) The grandchildren These came from three lovely children who brought grandchildren in groups...
I returned to Israel after a long stay in Germany, I worked for many years in hotels, and even when I returned, I immediately got a job in the Dead Sea. But what to do? You can't hide your age and in the end I retired (what? Me? Pension??) I realized that everyone has a replacement, just not for Saturday.
After I got over the "basa"
Yes, there was a period of "badass", but that also passed, so I started to collect my abilities, the ones I had accumulated during my life, and I came up with the idea: to give the grandmothers and grandfathers a place. A place to talk, read, learn and also to hurt... and so it was.
New grandmothers
It's called "new grandmotherhood", yes, there is such a concept, and I, as a grandmother of 10 grandchildren, uphold it throughout the year. During the Corona I moved to live with my sister in Haifa, that's how I got to know this special city and I decided to take Matlatli and move to live here myself, regardless of the Corona, even though my children live in the center.
Haifa received me well
Haifa received me very well! I joined Nesher Rotary and I'm a soldier there, I met wonderful people and I joined the "60+ entrepreneurship space", where I met more wonderful and special people, with whom I started my company...
Not everything on a silver platter
But... do you think everything was served to me on a silver platter and I just celebrated? no and no. As soon as I arrived in Haifa, full of the energy of action, I started working on setting up a very prestigious gathering for women who want to meet, spend time together and enjoy some culture, music and good food.
To my surprise, many people around me were pessimistic and I felt that they were blowing my neck... They found all the reasons why my plan could not succeed... They almost managed to get rid of my desire, but I decided that I would not give up!
A wonderful evening with good food
The evening was charming and fun like no other! An amazing harpist played for us, a lecture about the Japanese geisha enriched us and we enjoyed a modern ballet performance by a group of women aged 45 and over. But the highlight of the evening was an extremely rich buffet from "Greg Kitchen" who was as enthusiastic as I was and added to the menu like a king! And of course, we will not forget Chai Pa who helped me promote and spread the initiative!
"weaving women"
Today I hold meetings - "weaving women" - as part of the "60+ space" and dream of another big cultural meeting, like that great evening.
Another project that I am currently concentrating on is writing about people aged 60 and over, who have successfully reached the third age and the beginning of retirement and find in it the way to their dream and to the realization of their abilities, whether it is in a business, occupational, voluntary, or any other activity that fulfills them.
