Yesterday (Mon. 6/6/22) an announcement was received from the Haifa municipality that the bilingual track, which has been fighting for years to have its own school building, will finally be awarded this next academic year, 2023-2024, in the "Mazor" school building in Kiryat Eliezer
It should be noted that in recent weeks the parents and students from the bilingual track have been vigorously demonstrating for the cause, which for them includes a demand for a building that will accommodate both the elementary and middle school classes. On the part of the municipality, the claim was repeatedly heard that the Ministry of Education stated that it is not possible to give bilinguals an institution symbol, because there are not enough students for that.
"Find us a school!" • Thousands of signatures on a petition in favor of the bilingual track in Haifa
Mazor school building
The parents rejected these claims and report that there is a very long list of parents who wish to join the bilingual track but cannot because there is no room for additional classes for them. According to them, if they had been allowed to move to their own school and open several classes in each grade, depending on the demand, they could have allowed many more students to study at the school.
One of the reasons why it is not possible to transfer the bilingual track to "Mazor" already in September 2022 is that the place is now used as a hostel for various schools whose permanent structure has some problem. These days, the Leo Buck school uses the building, due to the asbestos removal work taking place there.
Want to see results in the field
In general, the parents are satisfied, but are waiting to see what happens on the ground: "We are satisfied that both Kalish Rotem and the district director at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Sa'ar Harel, spoke highly of the bilingual track. Now the Ministry of Education will check again regarding the possibility of receiving the institution's emblem. "What we would like to see is for the Mazor school to have a 12-year track, both elementary, division and high school. We are committed to the students in the seventh grade, and we do not want to see them separated from the other students. We do not know whether the parents and the students at the six-year urban school a "They will accept our students sympathetically and we are afraid of that. In general, it is clear that there is room for continued dialogue between us and between the municipality and the Ministry of Education."
The middle school will be in Ironi A, the elementary school will move in a year to 'Mazor'
Following the many meetings that took place between the representatives of the parents' committee and Mayor Kalish Rotem, yesterday (Mon. 6/6/22) the mayor summoned the parents' representatives of the school to a meeting with her and the Director of the Haifa District at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Sa'ar Harel. They were also present at the meeting City Council member and holder of the education portfolio in the Haifa municipality, Sigal Zioni, representatives from the Ministry of Education in the Haifa district, co-chairman of "Yad Beid" as well as parents' representatives.
At the meeting, which according to the reports was conducted in a good spirit and in an atmosphere of cooperation, the mayor reiterated that she is committed to the continued development of the school, and noted that the master plan for education, which the municipality is promoting, also refers to this institution, emphasizing that the issue had previously been raised at the meeting held between her and the Minister of Education, MK Dr. Yifat Shasha Biton.
The district director presented a comprehensive overview of the issue and expressed the professional position of the Ministry of Education regarding the institution and its future and detailed the criteria and conditions necessary for the growth of the institution.
The meeting discussed the future of the elementary school and the conditions for recognizing and receiving an institution symbol, in accordance with the conditions and guidelines of the Ministry of Education, including the number of classes in each grade and the mix of students in them, while maintaining the required balance, and regulating the transition of the school to a permanent structure that will ensure its growth and development.
At the meeting, various options were raised, including the use of part of the "Mazor" school building, for the benefit of the school. It was also agreed that the 7th grade students will study at the "Urban A" school, and will receive resources, support and all the conditions that will contribute and lead to their growth.
The bilingual kindergarten will be a municipal kindergarten
Yes, the parents were informed that it was decided that starting from the school year 2017 it will be possible to establish a compulsory bilingual public kindergarten, and thus the parents will not have to pay anymore for the bilingual education in the kindergartens - which is happening today.
Ba Lezion Goel, or Bao Lezion Le Hebal: The Yad Yad association that operates the bilingual education initiatives (or: re-education through young brainwashing) generates NIS 35 million a year, including tens of thousands of NIS per month in salary for the leaders/owners of the association. You will be surprised to hear that foreign countries are involved in huge donations to the association, which hides their involvement. This is how the association received donations from the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the American Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A donation (annual!!) of over NIS 18 million from a body that is hidden from the public to cause the brainwashing. Millions of shekels pressure campaigns on local authorities to provide funding and structures for alternative education that chooses what and how to teach itself (and what to eliminate..). Struggle against the values of Israel as the state of the Jewish nation, incitement against military service in the IDF (Gdan no, volunteering in unrecognized settlements yes) and a host of other 're-education'.
It is not clear to me what Yaron Hanan is blessing, perhaps he is not familiar with the contents and the foreign funding involved in this network.
Racist and dark reaction!
Those who understand know that without the organization of residents and in this case - parents, nothing good will be done by the municipality and certainly under the current leadership. The righteous struggle of the parents is the main reason for changing the rigid and alienated position of Klish towards the needs of the bilingual school!
Because this is a Jewish country. Americans only speak English and the French only learn French.
The time has come for everyone to learn Arabic, why only require the Arabs to learn Hebrew?
Reminds me of the hesitations before David Yelin's move to the Old School building
What a beauty.
Finally good news and hope for a better future in the city.
How beautiful. Now it will be possible to ignore the residents in two languages.
