This week (1/6/22) the director of the youth division at Leo Buck School, Eran Bressler, announced that he will be taking a sabbatical in the coming school year, and that a search committee will choose the director to replace him, starting in September.
achieve success and reap rewards
Bresler started his career at Leo Buck as a high school citizenship teacher, as an educator and class coordinator. After two years in the position, he began managing the youth division, a position he has been holding for 6 years. His investment in excellence brought the school to many successes and winning many awards. This year, Bresler himself was awarded the title of a trailblazing manager on behalf of the Ministry of Education.
One of the subjects that was very significant for him was physical education. The middle school students participated every year in the Stair Race and the Haifa Race. In the two years of the Corona, the runs were canceled, but Leo Buck led by physical education coordinator Zohar Eyal Rimon did their own race on the beach. In each of the races, about 400 or more students would come to participate in the run, an unprecedented number compared to other schools in the city.
Collaboration with Ofakim Special Education School
Bresler really liked extracurricular activities. The school collaborates with Ofakim Special Education School. One of the joint activities that the schools have done is a joint walk in the center of Carmel, with Leo Buck students accompanying the students from the Ofakim school, who sit in wheelchairs.

The students learn to say thank you
Throughout the year, each week was dedicated to marking one event or another. Between Pesach and Independence Day, for example, he dedicated 10 days to thanksgiving days in which the students thanked the teaching staff, the school employees, the families and the other students for what they are for them.
Empowering students
One of the things in which Bressler strongly believed was the empowerment of the students. He used to call to his room the students, who he believed needed encouragement, and he would explain to them that at any stage during the life and the school year they have the ability to choose to invest more in their studies and social activities and put their lives on the right track. There are students that he would make sure to meet with high frequency in order to accompany them through complex periods in their lives.
Love of the land and country
Bresler educates to love the land and country. He really likes the figure of the Hebrew language revivalist Eliezer Ben Yehuda and sees him as a trailblazer, to whom we all owe a lot. Bresler strongly believes that the appearance of the school is important and contributes to the academic atmosphere. As soon as he arrived at the school, he made sure that flowers and plants were planted everywhere. He made sure that the school was well-kept and clean.
The students at the school go on many activities and trips. They come to Neve Shanan to the Rambam school in order to pack vegetables for those in need, they go to the Institute for Jewish Consciousness, Medatek and at the same time hear many lectures at the school by inspiring figures from various fields. Before Yom Kippur the whole school goes down to the sea to do a tishlik ceremony.
In the last two years, Bressler faced the challenge of the corona disease. In the beginning, studies at the school were via Zoom, and over time, studies returned to the school under the restrictions of the Ministry of Health and Education. In recent months, another challenge has been added. The high school began renovations, asbestos removal, and the high school students had to find another building. The high school students came to the middle school in order to study and take the matriculation exams. This is the middle school's preparation time, a partial transition to Zoom learning and going to activity days outside of school.
The chance meeting with Rabbi Ofek Meir
Leo Buck CEO Rabbi Ofek Meir met Bresler for the first time, when he came to his office with his partner in order to explore the possibility of him marrying them. Many years in order to examine the possibility of their creative and personal Israeli religious canopy.
I had the privilege of being the editor of Huftam and Eran, who has always been involved in education, began his journey at Leo Buck as a teacher, educator and class coordinator. In recent years, he managed the youth division with a high level of skill and continued Leo Buck's long-standing tradition of managing the division for its many and varied challenges.
We all hope that the sabbatical year will be good for Eran and that we will get to see him again in the leadership line at the Leo Buck Education Center in the future as well."
Eran Ish Adam is an amazing educator and manager. Yes, they will multiply like him. Our children were privileged to study under his leadership and live etc
It is a bit strange to publish such an article.
I think that one should maintain modesty and let the actions speak and not the media. Many teachers and administrators do similar things but do not reach one or another newspaper.
Cheers in any case for the activity.
Successfully.
Eran Bresler deserves to go on a sabbatical. Shabbat Shalom
Are the rumors that Eran Bressler left because of the asbestos story true?
Time will tell but he was the first to rush to escape from this trouble.
Apparently he also doesn't believe it can be done properly and prefers not to risk his health...
Eran will seriously consider running for mayor of Haifa during the sabbatical year.
In my opinion you won't need a campaign because school is your best campaign.
In my opinion, Eran Bresler is the figure that Haifa needs as mayor.
I really hope he will run for mayor or join the city leadership and hold the education portfolio.
It's hard to step into Eran's shoes. The excellence of the school originates from its dedication, its diligence, its educational creativity and its aspiration for excellence. Eran was aware that it is impossible to do everything alone and he enlisted many good people to help him. Hope the next one will continue on his way. Successfully. As for Eran, it is clear to me that he will succeed wherever he goes.
