"The Carmel Beach Promenade in Haifa has become an unpleasant place"

"The beach promenade can compete with that of Tel Aviv, but we will not return to it"

Last weekend (27/5/22) the resident of southern Israel came to visit Haifa with his family, among other things the family spent time at the Carmel beach promenade, in the hotel area. After the visit, the same person published a post on Facebook, in which he said that he and his family really like coming to Haifa and love its promenade, which they claim can easily compete with the Tel Aviv promenade, but this time, the writer noted, the visit to the promenade was unpleasant, to say the least, and as a result, he and his family decided that They will not return to her again.

This is what the post says:

"It is true that I am from the south, but I like to come to your beautiful city. As a guest for a moment, I must raise an important point: your promenade does not fall short of that of Tel Aviv or Herzliya and it is fun in every respect. But yesterday, Friday night, I have to admit with regret that the experience of the trip With my family on the boardwalk, it reminded me less of Herzliya and more of the Bedouin diaspora near the house. Young Arabs running amok, driving wildly, and worst of all - throwing comments at my daughters. All this around 23:00 PM in the area of the Leonardo Hotel. No police, no enforcement, complete lawlessness. Friends, If this lovely place is dear to your heart and you are interested in people from outside the city continuing to come to it, you must take care of law and order."

Councilor Kirill Kartnik Submitted a query on the subject to the mayor, after the post was circulated on Facebook, and received many responses. In the query, Kartnik asks to receive data on the number of municipal inspectors who maintain order on the boardwalk during the summer, Kartnik also asks to know what the budget is allocated for this purpose and raises the possibility that it needs to be increased. Kartnik also wants to know what steps the municipality is taking to increase the sense of security for visitors to the Carmel beach promenade.

At the end of the query, Kartnik wonders if and how the municipality works so that visitors who come to Haifa from other cities will have a positive experience, one that will make them come back and visit it.

In response to the post, a number of residents replied that the problem is not that there are no inspectors at the beach on Friday evening, but that the inspectors themselves turn a blind eye to the situation on the boardwalk and in fact allow young people to riot there and disturb passers-by.

"I no longer walk on the Carmel beach"

"I used to love walking on the beach at the Carmel beach promenade," says the educator Hana Morg, who lives in the estate, "but lately it's been very unpleasant there and I've moved my walks to Bat Galim beach. It's quiet and very pleasant to walk in Bat Galim. I feel that on the beaches, Zamir and the Meridian Promenade are not pleasant. Young people are sitting there in droves on the hills. There are also quite a few vehicles there with identification plates from the territories. It really bothers me that there is no presence there, neither of the police nor of the municipality's security patrol. Nevertheless, it is a main entertainment center in the months the summer".

The police said that as long as no complaint is filed, the matter is not investigated.
The Haifa Municipality stated in response that queries will be answered by the city council, as usual.

  1. There should be a local police, like in the US, (if someone runs they ask what and why), it will be good for all sectors, it's not maybe or, or, we just have to have enforcement, otherwise nobody will have anything. We have to have order that will be pleasant for everyone, if there is enforcement and if There will be order

  2. Like in Lower Hadar, there is no supervision, there is no security, lots of cousins who come to disturb and the police are extremely weak, it is difficult to get home

  3. Why do you have to die for a complaint?
In the language of the profession, there is a concept called "Fakhola Yasuma" one should raise a head, send a police force to show presence and if necessary enforce on the spot.
Most of the politically correct residents of Haifa who go down to the beach for sports activities or just walking on the beach are regularly harassed.

  4. And not only on the boardwalk! Also the Carmel center, in the lower city and everywhere!. Also on the street in Carmel, which was quiet every Friday, there is an Arab family who moved to the street, and does weddings with the amplification system of a wedding hall. Me and the neighbors (and you describe that there are other buildings near me) call the police, and they didn't even send a mobile. They tell us they will send and they don't. It became unbearable.
Let's not talk about the weddings that are bigger, and their muezzin that was increased many times over.
All these are a complete loss of governance and an excessive inclusive policy that is becoming dangerous. Why wait for a disaster? Or we will become indifferent to the disasters in our country.
The very fact that they allow themselves what a Jew does not allow himself, and feel that they know that the police will not come, and they can do whatever they want!

  5. Just like that, it's a disgrace to abandon our treasures to rioters. And this is regardless of the fact that coexistence in Haifa is expensive and important, but not at the cost of compromising security.

  6. You're right, I come to play sports and see the disgusting behavior there

  7. The guy from the south is right as a Haifai and walks on the beach. There is supervision but they are not doing their job. We need policemen and not inspectors. We will not lose the beach. It should be noted that many Arabs who come are people who keep law and order. This is a minority but it is disturbing.

  8. And the unbearable amounts of trash on the beach? Glass bottles and alcohol. There is also the Juicery they opened (juice truck and more) that shamelessly sells everything at once and of course everything is spread out on the beach and seating areas. They don't even bother to clean. What town allows a food truck to sell disposable dishes on the beach???? difficult people?
to find ecological solutions. Just disgusting

  9. Haifa is an Arab city and will remain so
Those who are not well are welcome to leave.
    point.

  10. Do not run away. That's what they want. You should do the exact opposite. to stay. Only by insisting will they understand that it doesn't work for them.
    Don't give up!!

  11. This is the last place that was nice to walk around in Haifa. We must bring a hundred policemen or a mop there to make order.

  12. Maybe we can make separate promenades, with a wall between them, and big signs "for Jews only" and for Arabs only". That way the gentle-minded Jews who have never encountered Jewish criminals, rascals who throw comments to women, wild drivers who are pure Jews, will be able to stroll to their pleasure without meeting Arabs. It worked So good in the ghetto.

  13. The article feels kitschy to me.
Something advertising, something wrapped in a real estate combination from Puncheret.
Think the readers are retarded idiots who don't understand that 1 plus 1 equals 11
    Enough!

  14. I have been from Haifa since 1996, the Lui Promenade was very beautiful and well-kept in the past, clean, it was pleasant to stay there. Recently, after they placed the food stalls near it and opened a cafe at the entrance to the boardwalk, there are a lot of visitors there from the sector, who also enter the boardwalk with a motorcycle, everything is flooded with trash and especially cigarette butts. It's not pleasant at all and it's not nice that the visitors don't know how to respect the place and keep it clean. I stopped coming to the beach a long time ago, after once in the winter I came for a walk and chased someone, there was no one around and it was really scary.

  15. Unfortunately, there are no policemen on the streets either day or night. The police simply disappeared from the streets of Haifa.

  16. You are absolutely right and so is Hana Morag.
It is very unpleasant to walk around the boardwalk for a long time (actually since the beginning of the corona virus). The mention of the Bedouin diaspora-fits the situation.
Loud music, smells (stinks) of hookah and weed, loud shouting 6 cars that drive like...
    very unpleasant

  17. Shame and disgrace, the local government, the police, the city chief, do nothing. Security is the first thing that should be

  18. Just an iron hand, maybe you will exempt what is described in the above article and the explanations/comments of the commenters.
In my opinion, the situation in the city is much worse than described.
The Arabs, Christians and Muslims (I am not testing kidneys and hearts), are not partners in our culture and are not suitable for our provinces.
Jewish society has also become infected/became violent, but personally I prefer to deal with Jews.
Haifa has been occupied for a long time!
But whoever said that recently the keys to the city were also given to the Arabs.

  19. The entire compound in the hotel area must be immediately fenced off and blocked off and any passage there must be prevented. This is a promiscuous territory that has been in a legal dispute for many years with the Haifa Municipality regarding the ownership of the land with Yitzhak Tshuva. !!

  20. The Carmel beach promenade in Haifa must be completely clean Shabbat Shalom.

  21. At first the beach inspectors worked well and acted immediately to maintain order.

  22. The mayors do not understand and do nothing to maintain and enrich the Carmel Beach Promenade and Bat Galim again failed managers in their positions they do nothing they do not understand anything and probably decisions like this and everything it is the mayor's fault that she does not visit these places in Haifa when did she walk on the promenade when did she walk among the residents on the beach promenade The Carmel was founded by Yona Yahav and it is a shame that it is very neglected

  23. "The police said that as long as no complaint is filed, the matter is not investigated"
Who to complain against?? What, will they give out their names and phone numbers?

    • Stupid and irresponsible response. If someone is murdered and he doesn't file a complaint, the police won't check and investigate, if there are riots in the city, the police won't be there.... Cliche guilty of everything.

  24. The response of the police "as long as there is no complaint" is amazing
See attendance, disperse people who are not supposed to gather, who disturb the public order. if. There was a presence of police forces people who are not supposed to be found will disappear. Vehicles with license plates from the territories should remain in the territories. The municipality, where is your municipal police? Why does the mayor not care about what is done here in any way??

    • 12 years of Bibi's rule dismantled and weakened the police and it's not just Haifa. Everywhere in the country is dangerous on the roads and dangerous to walk around in the evening. We must recruit new police officers to rule the city

  25. There is no police in Haifa. And not the traffic police. And people who serve as policemen from the sector deliberately turn a blind eye to the crime of the sector and come to convince you not to write a complaint. I have never experienced a police where the policeman for long minutes stands and explains why it would be a shame to involve the police in an event (it is a serious violent event in which I was a witness and I was ready to testify). The shocked victim realized that the police officer from the sector was not going to take his complaint and we went to the police station to file the complaint. Don't know if he filed a complaint against the policeman. And that's when they even bother to get to the arena. Regarding the traffic police - there is none in Haifa at all. It's enough to see how each vehicle decides on its own to park in the middle of travel lanes, close them, step on sidewalks, block sidewalks for pedestrians (the situation on Allenby Street is deplorable, also in Herzliya). The municipality does not enforce, the traffic police does not enforce anything in this city. An absolute jungle on the city promenades as well as on the streets.
It is enough to see how the colony restaurants have taken over all the sidewalks, vulgar lights, incessant music noise, harakas and davinists from the villages going around in groups to disturb and riot, all Dalits prevailed in this city.

  26. The police are waiting for a complaint or an accident to investigate what happened. Have you heard about prevention?
Or about the end of an act with a first thought
    Wake up!

  27. My favorite pastime is to go to the boardwalk in the evening and sit there, but since 3 young Arabs took care of me, I no longer have the feeling of security that I used to have, and I write this with great sadness. I feel and see that Jews hardly ever come to the promenade in the evening. On Saturday night it is different because there are folk dances

  28. As a native of Haifa, she loves to go to the boardwalk.
I was there and it was fun...
    Many times I was alone.
It is true that there were Christian and Arab residents holding a feast
Family on grass. But I did not see vehicles with license plates of the territories.

  29. It's like that in the whole city.
Haifa has changed a lot and is becoming more and more like Jerusalem and Jaffa
From a conversation with someone from the west of the city I realized that they also suffer from the outward migration of those with a criminal culture.
Housing the participants from the occupied territories in the late 90s did not do the city any good

  30. The time has come for Ben Gvir's patrol to reach the shores, unfortunately we are beginning to lose our grip on the assets of the Jewish people in the territories that were conquered with hard work, sweat, blood and much sacrifice, the day is not far off when we will have to repeat this effort and return them back in time, to the normative behavior of citizens, in America I am learning the concept Zero patience, no one here argues with a policeman or an inspector because it could end up with a bullet in the head

  31. What is going on in this city with the police? The newspaper editors should show the police the reactions here and make sure that the police start functioning. It is not possible that the chaos, lawlessness and mess that everyone knows prevails here and the police do not lift a finger. The answer that the police are waiting for a complaint to be filed is strange. There are a lot of complaints here. The police should not wait for a disaster to happen. Their job is to prevent these phenomena and make sure that the residents have security in this city.

  32. Enforcement that you will also be on the boardwalk and on the street. The view is beautiful. Every night there are sports car races and scary crowds. You cannot walk safely there and there. The feeling is very unsafe on the streets from 9 o'clock in the evening in the whole city. It is sad that personal safety in the city will survive so much, especially in the evening and late at night

  33. Paz police. A gang of Arabs attacked my son who was a soldier at the time. He was bruised and concussed. We were taken by ambulance to Rambam Hospital and later hospitalized in Military Hospital 10. My son and I went to file a complaint with the police. They laughed in our faces and refused to register a complaint. Now please read the response of the police again.

  34. Democracy does not fit anywhere in the Middle East and for good reason. These are nations that need a regime that enforces discipline, order and punishment with an iron hand.
Unfortunately, we think that with all the talk of rights and freedoms, we can act as if we are an island cut off from the mentality in the space around us.
The situation should lead to a clear recognition that a democratic regime is not appropriate in Israel and a regime of total enforcement and total governance with severe punishment including the death penalty for terrorists and terrorist activity is needed. end point Those who do not understand this do not understand how to survive in the Middle East.
Unfortunately, the legal ivory tower has become a pointless juggernaut whose goal is employment for tens of thousands of lawyers who "need" them only because there is no punishment, deterrence and the rule of law and order. In a country with law and order, you don't need 80 lawyers, a tenth of that is enough.
What is happening in Israel is sad, but it is a ship that sees the iceberg, realizes that it is on its way to the iceberg, begins to experience the iceberg and is unable to change the democratic, liberal, pluralistic, enlightened, forgiving and ready to trample and trample by using these tools against the country and its inhabitants, and therefore continues until it collides with the iceberg and destroys it.

    • As much as you are right, in the State of Israel a democratic regime controlled by the judicial system cannot exist, there is a need for a strong leader who knows how to protect his people and fight the enemies in the hardest way possible

  35. More pleasant during the day, not so much in the evening. My wife and I love to walk on the beach, Haifa has amazing beaches, I grew up here and love the proximity to the boardwalk. At the same time, in the hours of darkness and you don't have to reach 2300, already at eight in the evening or earlier on pleasant days in winter, there is a hustle and bustle and young people wandering around idly. Comments to the dog and all kinds of looks.
It just spoils, it's really not clear how exactly one of the main attractions that Haifa has to offer during most of the sleep there is almost no supervision. Indeed, they drive completely wildly there.
The law is not worth anything if no force is invested in its enforcement.

  36. Israel Police: As long as a complaint is not filed (ie.. to make you burn for 7 hours in a police station) no one will treat you.

But in order to screw Jewish citizens on a regular basis, you don't need a complaint, you automatically handle what you are comfortable handling.
    Mogi Lev police.

  37. In fact, the problem is much more serious.
Unfortunately, the sector is found in almost every neighborhood in Haifa and is slowly taking over the city, and in every neighborhood it enters, the old population leaves. Every neighborhood he reaches quickly turns into the lawless Wild South. Unfortunately we will soon find ourselves without a city.

  38. This is not a new problem and not only in Haifa. They usually harass the residents of the cities and when things get heated, they call the police and arrest the residents. This is a known method.
Last week it happened in her room. Before that in Tiberias and it happens everywhere. They became the landlords of the country.

  39. Finally something tells the truth. The Arabs come to make a mess and disturb everyone. Once upon a time when they would pick up their noses from Gevniks, they would make sure to break it for them. Today they took their hands and feet. I got married there and my mirrors and windshield were broken in the night in 2 cars, and yes, they are Arabs (they saw them and the police did nothing)

  40. First of all, many thanks to reporter Michal Yaron, you recently raise very important issues.
Regarding this subject.. very sad. Haifa is slowly turning into an Arab city.. and accordingly noise hazards and other nuisances.. there are no other words to describe it.

    • Someone who is disturbed by the presence of the Arabs can disappear from Haifa altogether.
It is true that there are disturbing things, but it certainly disturbs everyone, not only the Jews themselves. You also have a car that explodes every day. But talking about an entire company is annoying and I don't accept it. So look for another country. You are tired already.
Haifa is an Arab city and will remain so, and those who don't like it are welcome to leave

  41. There is a mentality of turning a blind eye in the city in general when it comes to the enforcement of noise laws..cars..in a mess..Haifa in certain places is less pleasant than it was in the past.
The spillover of the wild west in the south reaches north to the center and to every good part. This is at the level of activity in the country and not just the authority itself. But for someone who was in the government in the past, it was important to invest 700 million in a private plane and his house.

    • This is a result of the government you elected, as well as the mayorship you elected. Contact the ROAM you chose from the shared list.
      0 deterrence
      0 doing
Transfer the power officially and start living as a controlled minority.
If not today, then tomorrow after you are conquered with the help of the Arab womb. Yossi Beilin has been warning for many years but you are busy with dreams and imaginations.

  42. The last paragraph actually says, the police or the municipality are not interested... that's all.

  43. A similar phenomenon occurs in the evenings and nights on Yaffe Nof Street in Haifa. Minorities come here with motorcycles and cars whose exhaust has been treated to make maximum noise. And car and motorcycle races are held here, noisy, into the night. The services continue into the center of Carmel. The police have no trace and if a few policemen and/or municipal inspectors are seen here, they are minorities and turn a blind eye.

    • In a city where there is no enforcement, where at night crazy people drive on the road to Shibim Bat Galim and the exit towards Freud, there is no enforcement except for parking fines, in Bat Galim they crushed a bus stop with stones, this is to catch the vandals and compel their parents to pay, to open police cases, where there are no laws the crazy people operate.

  44. Let's face it, the sector is slowly taking over the country, going wild in car races, stealing weapons from the army, in short it's better not to hang around anymore...
There is a law for the Jews but not for the sector, everyone is afraid, you see it in the Negev and Jerusalem and also in Jaffa, if we don't find a way to deal with it, then we have to look for another country
And yes, they will also arrive in Tel Aviv at the end...
The mess started years ago and now it's intensifying, the protection is celebrating...
If they would at least start by abolishing cash then that would be the beginning, but they are afraid of hurting the Ghamim, so soon we will all need Ghamim in another country...

  45. Apparently the inspectors are from the sector and therefore turn a blind eye to everything

  46. And not only on this promenade. But also on the Louis Promenade and other places in Haifa, in the German colony and so on. This attack by Bedouins who will come to the cities in Israel as they usually do in the Negev. And not only Bedouins but also Arabs from the villages who come to the city of Haifa to "celebrate" are disruptive and noisy. They usually harass women. Breaking the yoke in places where they are caught being promiscuous is known and known to me as a former resident of Nazareth. Until the police intervenes and disperses these gangs, this is an officer until he reaches really dangerous acts. Why are the police waiting for a complaint? What stupidity and irresponsibility is this? Police are supposed to prevent situations and not just deal with them when they already happen. This reaction of the police reflects the exhaustion that these gangs know well and exploit well. If the police do not start to wake up, the residents of Haifa will take the law into their own hands and establish a civilian police to fill the empty shoes left by the police.

    • Yesterday I walked with my wife on the Louie Promenade and was amazed by the amount of garbage all over the promenade and on the sides of Yaffe Nof Street and beyond the railing of the Carmel slopes. Oil stains and dirt along the length of the street. Repulsive and disgusting. Haifa is not beautiful. Won't go back there anymore

    • The only solution is not to run away and get a license and come with a weapon. There is nothing to fear, this is our country, if they plant it on the boardwalk tomorrow, they will control the whole country
