Transportation news for the residents of Haifa and Kiryat: the new Line 4 in the Haifa Matron
A new subway line will connect the Kiryats with the "Hoof Carmel Central" through the Carmel tunnels
The Ministry of Transportation and the National Authority for Public Transportation will begin to operate the new line 13 of the Matron through the Superbus company starting 5/22/4, XNUMX Bayer XNUMX, on a dedicated and fast route.
A new line of the matron service joins the 3 existing lines for the benefit of the residents of the area. The new line will connect Kiryat Bialik and Kiryat Motzkin with the central station Hoof HaCarmel, via Chutz HaFaretz, Lev HaFaretz, central station Lev HaFaretz, the "Grand Canyon", the Congress Center and the MTM Employment Center, through the Carmel tunnels. The new line replaces the smooth line Egged's 101 and traveling on a faster and more efficient route.
from 5 am to midnight during the week
The line will operate on Sunday-Thursday between 5 am and midnight, on Fridays from 5 am and until midnight depending on the time of Shabbat, and on the night of Shabbat until midnight. During peak hours, the service will operate with a wide and comprehensive frequency during all hours of the day.
The Matron is a public transportation service of dedicated buses known worldwide as BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) that operates in hundreds of cities around the world and was launched in Haifa in 2013. It is actually long articulated buses that move on dedicated routes between the Kariyas, the Haifa Bay, the Lower City, Hadar and West Haifa. Matron passengers enjoy the advantages of light rail, a dedicated route that results in fixed arrival times, and long and spacious cars that can transport many passengers, without the high cost to the state of establishing the infrastructure required for light rail. The matron also offers its users from inside and outside of the Haifa metropolis to use the "Hana Vesa" service - to park the private vehicle at the entrance to Haifa and continue to move around the metropolis easily using the matron.
The array of matrons currently includes three lines to which the new line joins:
- Line 1 – the red line Between the central station of the Kiryat in the north of the Kiryat and the central station of the Carmel Beach. The line operates every day and time of the week, even on Saturday, 24 hours a day.
- Line 2 - the blue line Between Kiryat Ata and Haifa Bat Galim train station.
- Line 3 – the green line Between Kiryat Yam and Hadar Carmel
Environmentally friendly buses
Recently, the Superbus company introduced modern electric buses that do not produce any direct air pollution for use on the matron lines. 40% of the vehicle fleet consists of 50 environmentally friendly electric articulated buses that provide a cleaner and quieter travel experience. The rest of the fleet is operated by articulated buses with normal drive that meet the strict "Euro 6" pollution prevention standard. The buses are made by the Chinese manufacturer Golden Dragon, which in 2021 was the best-selling bus brand in Israel and is imported to Israel by the Belilius Group. Golden Dragon is the first Chinese manufacturer to begin allowing assembly in Israel and the new buses are assembled in Israel by the Merkabim company.
Minister of Transportation and Road Safety, MK Merav Michaeli:
Every mass transit vehicle we add helps to reduce congestion on the roads and adds freedom of movement to every citizen. The matron is a great example of a type of transportation that is adapted to the needs of the region and provides a good and reliable alternative for all residents and residents of the north. We will continue to add service and frequency in public transportation everywhere in the country.
Modern and accessible
The new buses used by the matron lines can transport 137 passengers, of which 47 are seated, and next to each seat there is a USB socket for the passengers to use. The buses have five doors and low floors and are therefore particularly accessible to passengers with mobility disabilities. These are the first electric articulated buses in Israel and they are powered by an electric battery manufactured by CATL, the largest energy storage battery company in the world.
Michal Frank, Director General of the Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety:
The matron proves itself to be an excellent mass transportation tool for the residents of the Haifa metropolis. The new line will connect the Kiryat and the Bay to the employment centers, through the Carmel tunnels and will provide a fast and high-quality travel experience for male and female passengers. Half of the "Matrony" buses are electrically driven, in favor of a quiet and green ride. The ministry will continue to invest in diverse public transportation systems in the Haifa metropolis and throughout the country.
Tzachi Neve, CEO of Superbus:
We are happy to activate for the public in the Haifa and Kiryat region the new service that will more effectively connect the various cities and the centers of employment and commerce in the region. The new line will be partially operated by electric buses with no direct pollutant emissions and the ride on them is particularly quiet and pleasant. We believe that the new line will be popular and will attract more passengers to the subway system which will continue to be one of the pillars of public transportation in the Haifa and Gulf region.
The purpose of the new line is to add a convenient and fast access option from one end of Haifa to the other.
It is important to note that the new line will reach stations where there is access to bus lines, shopping centers, train stations and the beach.
As mentioned, line 4 will start operating on 13/5/22, with a frequency of 6-10 minutes, from morning to night, for the convenience of passengers.
Regarding the masks, the majority of Israelis have no consideration for others, and this is also reflected in not mentioning masks, yet in the whole world no one suffocates from a mask!!! And a mask definitely prevents infection. And those of you who think and quote others: the corona is like the flu, he hasn't gotten sick so far, and doesn't understand that it is not a simple disease at all, accompanied by great suffering, and many unpleasant symptoms later on. Still very contagious!!! It's a shame that the government and its spokeswoman stopped with all the advertisements, the videos, and the explanations to the citizens. If we want improvement/changes, in our country, it starts with the small citizen, more consideration, understanding, a desire to respect the other, to want to help. Something positive and good can grow from here. I wish the change would come. good week.
Many have not returned to the matron, for over two years, since the passengers crowd the matron, a large part do not wear a mask, and those who do, - the nose is visible. No one enforces it. The biggest infection is through the nose.
Even if there is no obligation to wear masks, this is the only way now to prevent the transfer of the new BA 5 variant to adults.
Also, the protection by the vaccine's antibodies has decreased greatly, the variant is not attacked by the previous vaccines, and the number of patients has already started to increase for the fourth time. Note that even young people suffer from memory impairment after they have recovered.
And what about connecting the Kiryat to Hadar?? Those who want to arrive on Shabbat, for example, cannot!
You are doing half the job and you are leaving the most disadvantaged populations who most need these services of comfortable and available shelter cut off. Shame on the mayor
criminal negligence
The matron was supposed to operate every 6 minutes in the morning (9 matrons per hour at each station)
In practice, the frequency is half that - 5 per hour and waiting 10-12 minutes, which causes heavy loads inside any long bus.
You caused an unbearable nightmare that pushes the residents of Kiryat to buy a private car.
Because of you, the increase in private cars in Kiryat is among the highest in the country in the last 5 years!!
The route will be renewed from the center of the bay to the center of the Carmel beach on a route that is not intended only for matrons. The stations at the Grand Canyon and the Haifa Mall are not Matron stations, but regular buses. I mean, apart from calling it a matron, it has no meaning. It's like line 101 and better agged.
The stations in Grand are special stations for Matron, they built new platforms there especially for this line
Why not make a small detour in Simcha Golan, HaGalil and return via Silver?
The logic is probably: central lines are fast and direct (say), and other, secondary/neighborhood lines, will bring you to central line stations. This should improve the average travel time for most people.
I would expect you to be promoted to matron for Rhodes Athens so that we don't have to be bothered from home and thank you very much
But they said from the Kiryat Center.
In any case, it seems that the 101 line of your Egged will be canceled?
Beauty
Sorry. Replaces 101 Egged
What is the difference between line 4 of the matron and bus line 101? Where is the shortcut here?
It replaces 191
It's line 101 exactly, there's no difference. Ms. Panina does have a combination of 90 minutes, very simple, you need to choose the appropriate code for your faction, for example from Kiryat to Haifa code 4
What about metro stations that should go through Nesher to Ligor?
These works started years ago. It seems that they have finished but there are no clear messages to the public so that we can plan our lives.
What is the route of the stations that will go through?
thieves
Buses and subways Bus in the unit
Shameful and disgraceful company... are you going to sue you... every trip is mandatory without transit... they owe me a lot of money I have filed a complaint several times already
Unfortunately, since they replaced the previous company, we have experienced new buses with seats that are not at all comfortable, drivers drive recklessly and without caring for passengers, especially the elderly.
I have experienced several falls and also many passengers and elderly people.
The driver doesn't care about the condition of the road and they only pray that we arrive safely.
There is no schedule at the stations as was arranged before.
Bar quo payment devices are often disabled and do not work.
Either there are no inspectors or 2 or 3 come up together and confuse people's minds.
Channel yourself
There is Egged's line 101 on the same principle, what did you do with it?!
This is exactly line 101 of Egged. What is the difference?
Line 101 departs from the Bay Center to the Beach Center. Line 4 left from the Kiryat center to the Hoof center.
The original plan was that line 4 left the Karyot center, according to the publication now it seems that it left the Bay center and will need a change to the Carmel beach.. They will probably cancel the 101
Line 101 does not travel on the matron's red path and encounters all the lunchtime traffic jams
What will happen to line 101 which currently takes the same route through the tunnels to the Grand and from there to the bay?
There is also Matron No. 5 traveling to the Faculty of Serious Journalism along with all Live-Oral reporters for a crash course.
There is nothing new. It simply replaces Egged's existing line
I wanted to know if it is possible to combine payment in the amount
Accumulate between the matron and the bond within the 90 minutes or the pole
Are there any people left in this failed city?
They all moved to the state of Tel Aviv, the most expensive city in the world.
Yes. Anyone who doesn't want to pay NIS 4 million for a 3-room apartment is poor
What a lazy reporter. Don't you think it would have been better to specify what time the line would start and until what time? Laziness or disdain or indifference won.
right. You don't need the confusion of the brain, etc.; Tell the station locations
If you read, you would see that everything is written in the article
Go up to the matronies sometimes 3 couples visit on the drive between the Kiryat and Haifa, each time they get the ticket for the inspection, there is no coordination between them, and anyway there was a serious inspection and enforcement, for a year they tell those who haven't paid: pay next time, and they don't do anything to them, so who needs one Review? Either there is enforcement or there is smearing of the Ministry of Transportation. And there are passengers who stand by the ticketing machines and wait for the inspectors to come up and only then attack. So I wish the Ministry of Transportation would already make an order, that there would be undercover, coordinated inspectors, and especially with enforcement: the first time they would give a warning, the second time a significant fine. Otherwise what is the use of visitors?
Will it also come to Kiryat Ata?
Today 2.5.22 I waited for the matrons, the waiting list is 5 matrons from 7.10 to the XNUMXth, it is not possible that I will wait that long
