Recently, there have been claims that MM, the deputy mayor and holder of the sea portfolio, used his connections and public status to promote a deal to purchase a boat for the maritime school located on the Pacific coast. The boat is manufactured by the Polish company represented by Nachshon Tzuk, who proceeded to do as I was told, and to offer Mr. Lauber, the director of the maritime school, to fly to Poland so that he could examine the boats. It should be noted that the deal ultimately did not materialize.
It is further alleged that Tzuk serves as a shareholder and director of the Ruach Gavit company, which, among other things, is engaged in the import, marketing and sale of boats and yachts.
In addition, there are other suspicions that have been raised and they smell strongly of a conflict of interest!
How is it possible that a person who in his private life is engaged in sailing and selling boats and is even registered as a business owner in the field, will enter a public position that sits on the same slot? This is a serious conflict of interest. It's clear to anyone!
I propose one resolution:
- The city council will vote in favor of the immediate removal of Mr. Nachshon Tzuk from his position as holder of the sea portfolio

Surfers and boaters: a marina is urgently needed in Haifa. We are not a beach city but a city that turns its back on sailing water sports and marine tourism.
In front of Rambam already 30 years ago, Tzmir planned a beautiful marina with a breakwater that continues the Bat Galim promenade, does not disturb the quiet beach or the beaches of Bat Galim. To claim that Tzuk is trying to take out the activity to build a marina does not even fit with the geographical location where it should have been built in the area used by a car park on the seashore (the only place in Israel that has such a illusory situation) and the continuation of the Rat Walk in front of Rambam. There is no sailing activity there, only vengeful surfers who don't want a marina and residents who don't want tourism at all.
Unfortunately, their hand succeeds in torpedoing the city's future much more than Mr. Tzuk, who in this case is right that we need a marina to promote sailing, tourism and water sports. Haifa is among the last cities in the Mediterranean that does not have a marina for recreational and leisure sailing activities.
