"A mayor should solve problems and not prove who is right"
The demonstration to save Haifa sailing has begun - live broadcast.
Sailors from the Haifa Sailing Association are demonstrating at this time in front of the Haifa Municipality and are asking Klish to solve problems and regulate the relationship between the Haifa Municipality and the sailing association and to stop basking in the issue of who is right and who is stronger. The sailors demand from the Haifa municipality to stop acting against them by legal means and to allow the continuation of the activity of this association, which is of great importance for maritime education in Haifa.

Hila Lauper at the demonstration: it doesn't matter who is right. Cliche needs to solve problems
Sarit Golan's words at the demonstration:
Lior Alfasi - Chairman of Haifa Sailing
Ezi Bilik talks about the association's activities
There has not been such a demonstration in Haifa for many years.
Hundreds of children and parents came to the town square with their boats and beeped and drummed on everything possible in order to voice their cry against the intention to close the sailing association. The noise in the city hall was unbearable and half of the neighborhood heard it. In the children's and adults' signs it was clear who the sailing association believes is the one threatening their activities: Mayor Dr. Einat Kalish Rotem.
Samdar Pintov - CEO of the Sailing Association:
Avihu Han at the Haifa boating demonstration in front of the Haifa municipality:
The Haifa Municipality responded:
The facts against the claims:
The Haifa Sailing Association received 180 days' notice from the Haifa Municipality in the termination clause of the engagement agreement, and not 30 days as claimed.
Contrary to the claims made, the Haifa Municipality acted with patience and courtesy in its dealings with the Haifa Sailing Club.
Moreover, at the association's request, the municipality added a clause that allows it to contact the Israel Ports Company if the municipality chooses to notify an eviction within 180 days.
The municipality has no desire or intention to violate the agreement. This is a standard requirement.

The invitation to the demonstration and the background to the conflict between Haifa Municipality and Haifa Cruise
It is difficult to describe in words the importance of the marine activity that takes place on the Pacific coast. The activity includes competitive sailing, alongside the education of teenagers, including children on the autistic spectrum. The Haifa Sailing Association is managed by volunteers from the maritime community, in whose veins the importance of connection to the sea flows.
In recent times, the Haifa Sailing Association has had to fight for its continued existence and is in a very difficult conflict with the Haifa Municipality. The municipality is now using legal measures against the association and there is a great fear that the activity on the beach will be stopped. Now lovers of sailing and the sea are going to a demonstration in front of the Haifa municipality and invite the public to take part.
The Haifa Sailing Association reported to Haifa - the news corporation:
After the tremendous support that the Haifa Sailing Club 'Growing Champions for Life' received from many groups of surfers, runners, sailors and other Haifa groups, a demonstration of support for the children of Haifa Sailing is being organized.
All residents of Haifa, for whom the issue is important, are invited to attend the demonstration tomorrow, Tuesday, April 19 at 10:00 am at 14 Hasan Shukri St. in front of the city hall. The police approved the demonstration so you can come en masse.
Surfers, you can come with a surfboard, or any item that shows belonging to the sea.
Lior Alfasi, chairman of Haifa sailing, said to Haifa:
While three surfers from the Haifa cruise represent Israel in Sardinia, Italy, and while the rest of the club's children are getting ready for the Israeli championship in Tel Aviv, the association is fighting for its continued existence. I invite the Haifa public to stand by us tomorrow in a demonstration in front of the Haifa municipality.

Arnon Dagan, a professional surfer, told Hai Fa:
It is not possible that because of the delusional personal whim of the deputy mayor (who wants to build a marina there) an old and magnificent club, which produces national and international achievements on a regular basis, enables activities for children from all walks of life, including children on the continuum, and helps organize international sailing and surfing events at the highest level, will be evicted and vacated .
The municipality of Haifa must wake up and start supporting the activities that take place on the Pacific Coast, instead of putting their feet up and making it difficult for the association to function and carry out educational and competitive activities throughout the year.
The municipality of Haifa should take an active part in the promotion of water sports and bring Haifa to its rightful place - the first in the world in sailing and surfing.

I hope they check the level of contamination in the water. Sewage, chemical, polluting ships are discharged into the sea. Danger to lives.
Where a cliché touches, only scorched earth remains. It is amazing that the residents of Lipa brought this trouble upon themselves.
The demonstration is completely justified! This is the whim of one person in the municipality. There is a matter here for a police investigation into suspected crimes!
Kudos to the Haifa Sailing Association, Yasher Chokh,
The failure to organize a demonstration when everyone is on vacation.
That's why 20 people came. Bring 200, there will be something to survey.
If it matters, that the municipality is closed today and the entire Passover holiday
A magnificent club indeed. Please, come to an arrangement that will be acceptable to everyone. Happy holidays and happy times. Unnecessary demonstration, in my opinion.
Once again an unnecessary demonstration designed to bend hands between the city's gossipers and the Kekionit association
