Aviva, training and outreach coordinator at the Epilepsy Center at Rambam Hospital and the initiator of the event:
It was an exciting and important day. We wanted to convey the message: knowledge = power, the more we know, the better we will know how to deal with it.

Aviva is the coordinator of the training and outreach department at the Epilepsy Center at the Rambam Hospital and the initiator of the event

Aviva points out that today one out of 100 children suffers from epilepsy and adults it is one out of 150. "It affects everywhere, she says, "without gender differences and it is very important to convey the message to the entire population and especially to children and students - it is important to know how to accept the other and the different.

The Rambam Epilepsy Center

The Epilepsy Center at Rambam was established in 2016, under the Department of Neurology, under the management of Prof. Moni Benifala and Prof. Yitzhak Shiler, and provides a response to epilepsy patients. The center operates from a social perspective of the patient and providing a response in the community.

Eradicate the stigma

In addition, our member of the Ministry of Education and the district manager Dr. Sa'ar Harel, gave his blessing to eradicate stigmas in society by providing training to education teams, supervisors, managers, teachers, factions, students, soldiers, associations and workplaces. The trainings are age-appropriate and free of charge. In the trainings, the teams receive tools and explanations on how to deal with the disease, across all sections of the population in Israel.

  1. Great tribute.
Now let them really grow up and take care of patients in neurology, let them build a department that respects the comfort of those hospitalized in the neurology department. The ward looks like a depressing garbage can, always a mess there, buckets of water and cleaners in the narrow passage really unpleasant, and for neurology patients the good feeling that affects their health is important. They should also make sure there are free beds for lumbar acupuncture tests because patients who are waiting for this important test for so long that every day is important for a quick diagnosis to start treatment, and this is not happening. Not suitable these days neither for such a stupid ward nor for waiting for a bed for this test.
