Children with disabilities have dreams like normal children • Ilan's penny parade has started and your help is needed to make dreams come true

(The author is the chairman of ILAN in the Haifa region)

Today, March 22, 2022, Ilan's annual penny parade opens.

This year ILAN celebrates its 70th anniversary. ILAN's members are children and adults with physical disabilities, born with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and muscle and nerve diseases - they move around, in wheelchairs, or with a walker or crutches and require splints and a variety of adapted treatments and tortures to that they can live a quality and meaningful life throughout their lives.

Sports and rehabilitation centers

ILAN provides a wide range of supports, activities in rehabilitative and competitive sports centers, educational frameworks and rehabilitation day centers, leisure and social activities for people with disabilities together with family members, summer camps and more - all this to bring ILAN members to realize their personal potential and integrate them into society .

Haifa has had the largest and most significant branch in the country for 70 years, in the "Neva Ilan" complex - in Kiryat Haim, on Gordonia Street, Ilan has established one of the largest sports centers in the country. From the pool of this branch grew the Paralympic champions of Israel, winners of 12 Olympic medals, including 8 gold medals.

Hostel and rehabilitation center

In addition to the sports center, there is a hostel complex called Beit Kessler. At the same time, Ilan operates Beit Miriam, which is a daily rehabilitation center for about 90 people with disabilities who come from Haifa and the surrounding area every day for learning and rehabilitation activities from morning to afternoon.

About the Haifa branch

The Haifa branch concentrates the activity in the region and controls a population from 12 separate municipalities from Zichron Yaakov to Karmiel and Acre. Ilan rehabilitators and clients see the branch as a source and center for advice, assistance, care and action.

These days, after the president of the country inaugurated and opened the Ilan events for the 70th year, the volunteer and regular Ilan directors met with the heads of the authorities, with the directors of the education departments, with students and with Ilan customers as part of the outreach and harnessing the entire population to recognize and contribute to Ilan" N.

Your contribution

In order for us to continue operating the centers and carry out the special activities, the children and graduates of Ilan need your donation. Donate to Ilan, and together we will make their dream come true! Attached are photos from events and ceremonies held in our area, including a video of Ilan LeZion's 70th anniversary.
