Unbridled infection celebration in schools

Lately we have been experiencing a phenomenon of incessant and stressful WhatsApp messages that begin with the words "Dear Parents... "

As soon as I received the WhatsApp, I already regretted sending them to school, even though we all know that school is a positive and necessary part of the children's daily lives, and to be honest, in our lives as well...

The second the message arrives, I find myself calling my three children and starting a series of tests (what certificate do you get at the end? For a brunette? Preparing for a nurse?) and three possible horror scenarios are already running through my head, whose room I will have to enter in a protective suit (and not only because of the corona virus) when he or she imprisoned in solitary confinement. Just the thought of a teenager being locked in a room for a week (now for 5 days), gives me chills (and may God help me).

It is known (for the most part) that there is no good without bad, and likewise regarding the frontal learning that is currently taking place in schools (according to the decision of the trusted authorities - it is good) there are not only effects, but also defects, and quite a few.

The classrooms are half empty (and sometimes even less than that), many students are in isolation or sick or simply stayed at home. Therefore, as far as I'm concerned, the word "learning" can be dispensed with when talking about face-to-face learning. Learning is not there and progress in the material that should be learned - neither.

So what is there?

Yes, there are cancellations of classes in the middle of the day, yes there is mass infection, yes there is a fear of being infected, which leads to mental stress and anxiety for the children, some of whom are terrified of infecting their parents or grandparents, or a family member for whom the infection can be more dangerous... and let's not forget that many times Getting to school involves a ride in crowded public transportation packed with students.

Parents of elementary school children may be less aware of the ways of learning in middle school and high school, so it may be appropriate to present to them the deep need for zoom learning these days, at least for the students of the upper grades.

In elementary school, as a general rule, the children study together in one class, their parent class, and in most cases all the students in the class will study with one or two teachers for the whole day. The breaks will also be conducted so that the homogeneous structure of the class is more or less preserved.

In middle school and high school, the story is different

It's not like that in middle school and high school, where the story is completely different: the teachers change classes every hour, each class is divided into different subjects, majors, groupings, cheating, projects... and the hand is still tilted. From this it can be understood that the children also change classes all the time and mix with students from other classes in the same grade, and it will usually be a larger number of classes than in an average elementary grade.

To illustrate: 3th grade students are in their mother's classroom in Bible class. In the next lesson - math, they are divided into 3 units (study units), 4 units and 5 units. In each class in which such a class is conducted, the students will meet children from three or four other classes, who in a previous class met students from the 5 credits physics major (for example), who were previously in an outstanding sports class, or who were with the 4 credits English teacher who also teaches Other layers at school... just an example of a random day. You get the idea - chaos!

If this sounds like a mass glue chain to you, that's because it is exactly what it is - an unbridled glue fest.

Just so you understand, my pity for the teachers, let alone the educators, I can only guess what they feel when they receive a message about a student who has been verified - so they have to start going through the list of students in their class and cross-checking: who was with whom in which class and under what circumstances, Who is the teacher and on what date exactly... and then begins the saga of sending messages to the entire class and then to each parent individually, yes yes, that sad message that no one is eager to receive, the one that begins with the words "Dear Parents…"

I do not claim that one should switch to Zoom learning for the whole year (God forbid!) I do believe that in such a critical period, in order to gain some control over the chaos in which we are drowning, it is requested to switch to distance learning for a while, say for a period of a month, and then examine things again.

Sorry, where is the routine here?

The Ministry of Education insists on some "maintenance of routine", that's what they call it. Why exactly do you call routine? There is not a single day when most of the students are present at school. There is not a day when teachers do not need substitutes, who also need substitutes, because most of them have been in isolation for a long time.

When will logical conclusions be drawn? When will the dry answers stop? "We follow ministry guidelines...", "We do everything to maintain a routine"... children are sent home in the middle of the day(!) which automatically throws thousands of parents running amok between pharmacy branches in pursuit of the desired antigen tests (about these tests - on another occasion ). Do you think this is routine??

To send or not to send?

The days go by and those who get infected continue to get infected and get infected, they don't learn, the ground has long been shaking under our feet and the household garbage can is filled with tests... how do we let this madness continue?

The insistence on not switching to distance learning in this delusional period is unimaginable to me. just like that. And every morning again: to send or not to send? Will they already switch to zoom or not switch to zoom?

The school principals and teachers are really making eights in the air to give us the best answer in these impossible circumstances, but in practice, with the decisions dictated to them from above, their hands are also tied and the solutions available to them are limited to non-existent.

Common sense says that on these days it is necessary to switch to remote learning one hour earlier. At least for a certain period, to maintain a uniform academic sequence and some kind of stability, until anger passes.

And after all this, I will end on an optimistic note and with the hope that this contagious wave will subside soon and we can return to routine, not the fake one, to a real and at least relatively stable routine.

  1. Until the National Parents Council shuts down the schools and demands Zoom, the farce will continue. To rush so many people to the HMO or MDA is not normal.

  2. 100% this is exactly the feeling of the majority of the public
We guarded ourselves, we were careful, we immunized ourselves, we avoided mass events
And a promiscuous and delusional government makes us sick almost by force with a lack of enforcement.
My gut feeling. Thanks for putting it up. And it's a shame that thousands will get seriously ill and die because of the government's populism and succumbing to the delusional pressures of a promiscuous public that just wants to send the children back to daycare. By the way, in many countries there are large percentages of homeschooling (parents who teach children at home..) yes true not suitable for two working parents. However, a homeschooled child does not develop anxiety in anyone.
The children need to be taught to adapt to different situations and they are aware that everyone is wearing masks and there is an epidemic. What do you want to deny the situation...

  3. Have you given birth to children? So take responsibility and face it! The teachers and kindergartners are not your close babysitters.. Parents! And certainly not during Corona! That's what there is!!

  4. You are hundred percent right, it is not clear what they are trying to do.... But it's definitely not a routine

  5. Every word is in stone. This is the right thing to do. What happens to the sane bush whose voice is not heard for some reason?

  6. I didn't read until the end, the truth is that it's quite tiring and full
It is strongly recommended to parents to come and teach in the classrooms for one week only and then we will be happy to hear all the beautiful theories complete in execution. And for all the unvaccinated - it is your choice but enough to go terrorizing and preaching.
And there is a mess all over the world in matters of Corona that changes news every morning.
    Why all the time complaints?
    Are we the desert generation?

  7. The State of Tirol!!!!!!!!!!!
From the moment the cursed corona arrived in Israel, I kept my family on every guard so that God forbid they would not get infected and, God willing, to this day we have not been infected from my husband to the little boy, we were all vaccinated. (We are all vaccinated with a green note a long time ago)
We followed all the necessary rules and precautions. And suddenly a new and terrible Tirlol arrives for me, the mass infection that was not stopped by a closure from the beginning.
It's so unfair that now we have to be infected.
Because of the contempt of others, especially the overlapping government.

  8. Why switch to distance learning?? It's atrocious and it's not something that's possible in every home or with every child
Just go back to normal life!!
What does it matter if you get infected or not?
When it is a disease that the vast majority pass easily and the carrier is not an active carrier

  9. A misleading article by a reporter who does not know the systems in elementary schools. Even in grades 3-4, the students are exposed to a minimum of 4-5 teachers. Educator, professional teachers for English, art, sports, KRB Foundation, science and more and in the upper elementary grades at least XNUMX-XNUMX a day. There are classes where classes are combined if there are no teachers, or for different projects.
The exposure there is very high, there is no ability to maintain high hygiene and remote contact and masks come off dozens of times the rate and hence the high isolations
    You should correct the comparison.

  10. The mistake of leaving the children at home (sometimes for whole months) and not going to school so they don't get infected is the one that develops anxiety in the children. Anxiety from close contact. The children are taught to think of each other as disease-carrying creatures. The understanding that it is necessary to return to routine and live with the corona and with the risk of it should have permeated a long time ago.
The damage caused as a result of the policy of closures, isolations and intimidation is, in my opinion, much greater than the preventive benefit of doing so

    • First of all, the damage caused is when it comes to a continuous zoom like last year, I was talking about a borderline zoom for up to a month until the fury of contagion passes and the number of contagions is reduced. If they would return to the routine as you say, then I wish it was the same in the schools, only that people like you think that there is a routine, but it is fake and not real.

  11. I also think that you should switch to Zoom only for a month. I haven't sent my 2th grade daughter to school for a week for fear of infection and my XNUMXth grade son insists on going because of his graduation. Every day I receive from his teacher at least XNUMX messages about verified. My fear of the post corona

  12. The isolations are due to the large number of tests.
Those who are healthy do not need to be tested.
    Why isolate healthy people?

  13. I think the problem starts at the root...
First of all, the understanding that no child is to blame if his grandmother is infected.
And that they put him in isolation without symptoms, the symptoms will be in his soul!!!
The routine of life should continue as usual.
The grandmother is vaccinated and will be kept with a mask.
And the child will continue to grow in a supportive and inclusive environment.
It is neither possible nor appropriate to blame a child at any age for the guilt and responsibility that he can hurt his grandmother or mother.
    It's just a mistake!
that the child will carry on his soul for years.

  14. Only the health of Maya Shapirer - Avni. Good Morning.

  15. If your children go to get vaccinated, they will not get even one day of isolation, unless they get sick (and the chance of that also decreases if they are vaccinated). This is the only way to maintain a routine and health, to vaccinate!!

    • Q Hello. I wasn't talking about vaccinated or unvaccinated. I spoke and illustrated the rush that is celebrated and the inability to spend one school day properly.

  16. So accurate, one student reveals an entire layer. Completion exams are crammed with a whole class of students in the class. Children at home stay for weeks and don't even get an interested phone call

  17. We have turned from the object of admiration and imitation in the world to the effective management of the epidemic, to the joke of the world - from yesterday the 1st place in the infection per soul in the world.
There is no herd vaccine in the situation of variants together (Omicron, Delta, and we will surely create another mutation here in the mass infection).
The government completely lost control, lost control over what was happening in the schools, lost control over the number of infected, lost control
On the method of testing, isolation and enforcement, lost control over the way businesses are compensated, in general - complete loss of control over the epidemic.
This is a crazy, delusional government that this week threw billions more into the pensions of those with the highest pensions in the economy because every sector of the government is bribing its two heads who are inexperienced but greedy for power at any cost, who do not know how to run a country.
They closed Israel for a month and sabotaged tourism, but allowed the Israelis to bring Omicron from abroad. Now they are opening for tourists, but who will come when Israel is at its peak of morbidity.
Apparently this is a government that wants an exhausted, weakened, sick country, it is convenient for them to deal with the Corona failure and not with all the other tens of billions of shekels of bribery from sectors whose economic elimination will be felt in the years to come. The main thing is to "open everything" "learn at all costs" surrendering to the shameful pressure of the parents instead of a closure that could reduce infection by tens of percent, we received within a week and a half a 500% increase in hospitalizations and thousands of percent in daily infection. We are the joke of the whole world. We and Britain are being covered in the disturbed countries where weak prime ministers with political problems decide on populist measures to cancel restrictions, green marks, isolations, enforcement, masks, etc. and prefer that several thousands and tens of thousands die and the main thing is that the public likes the reliefs, while he is sitting in a hospital For the third, fourth and fifth time from Corona.
Klish and Bennett are exactly the lack of management and quasi-management that characterizes Israel at the moment. A total mess and publication of biases and lies to the public desperately clinging to any idle data that their consultants blast to them in posts and bought communication.

    • This is true. Only in the Bibi era - the situation and management was much worse
