A kitesurfer was injured and evacuated to Rambam

A kitesurfer who was surfing at Kiryat Yam beach was getting hurt and was facing Rambam. The wind was strong from the west, at a speed of about 25 knots, with gusts of 30 knots. This is a wind called On-Shore, meaning a wind that blows from the sea to the shore. Eyewitnesses told Hai Fa Because the surfer jumped high in the air and landed in the water with a force. The damage happened when he met the water and not the shore. The surfer rescued himself to the beach. The surfers used a Sap surfboard as a stretcher and helped him, while he was suffering severe pain in his thigh. The surfer was taken by ambulance to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

MDA reported to Hai Fa - the news corporation:

At 15:00 a report was received at MDA's 101 hotline in the Carmel area about a surfer who was injured while kitesurfing at Zebulon Kiryat Yam beach.

MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated a 19-year-old young man to Rambam Hospital in moderate condition with injuries to his lower limbs.

Senior medic at MDA Avi Abdi, said:

We arrived at the place and they led us to the young man who was lying on the shoreline after being rescued from the sea. We were told that he was injured while surfing due to the strong winds. We quickly gave him initial medical treatment in the field and evacuated him to the hospital when his condition was stable.
