The Chairman of the Council of Carriers and Drivers in Israel, Gabi Ben Harosh, demands that the Chairman of the Haifa Port Board, Moshe Evari-Suknik, publish an apology in the press in order to clear his name and that of his defamed daughter, as well as to compensate him in the amount of 100,000 NIS.
Ben Harush, contacted Ebri-Suknik, through attorney Esnat Shalhon-Aharoni, in which he claims damage to his good name, because his name and image are emblazoned in press articles referring to Ebri-Suknik's letter to the ministers, while insulting and humiliating slanders and while omitting essential details.
Ben Harosh says: "Evri-Suknik's whole purpose is to take revenge on the port management and the board of directors for my back and the back of my daughter. After all, all his claims have already been examined in several frameworks: the workers' committee, the Histadrut and the port auditor and no deficiencies were found and the auditor's report was placed on The board of directors' table, despite this he chose to contact the ministers for extraneous reasons and not really to "expose corruption" and thus caused me and my family irreparable damage. He also added sin to crime when he turned to the press to publish the defamatory things. So his claims that he did the things "in good faith" have no basis in reality.
Ben Harosh emphasizes that since he serves as the chairman of the Council of Carriers and in this context he works in national frameworks, in the Knesset committees and is considered a renowned professional authority in the field of transportation and safety, there was even a direct injury to the public status of the organization and therefore the organization insists on its right to be compensated for the damages to its public reputation On the economic and image level, he demands the following from Soknik before filing a claim for damage to his good name: the publication of a personal letter of apology to all the recipients to whom he sent his inappropriate message, the publication of an apology in the press while purifying his name and his daughter's name and compensation in the amount of NIS 100,000.
On behalf of Evri-Suknink, attorney Paz Moser gave Lahi Pa in response: "Suknik fulfills his role as the chairman of the port and manages the affairs of the port where they should be conducted and not in the media, therefore he will not address the claims."
In addition, in the letter that Attorney Moser sent, at the behest of Ben Harosh, and it was accepted in the live system here, she stated that her client completely rejects what is written in the letter and that Ben Harosh's name does not appear in the letter sent to the ministers, so it is not clear what he is complaining about She further stated that the client acted according to the law which obliges him to report without delay to the ministers, the state auditor and the authority and so he did so what the client published is permitted by law and does not constitute grounds for a criminal or civil lawsuit and concluded that Ben Harush's claims are rejected as well as his "baseless" demand for compensation of NIS 100,000. His "baseless" demand for compensation of NIS 100,000 is also rejected.
