Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met (today 26.01.16) with Holocaust survivors from the Yad Ezer Heber association in honor of International Holocaust Day which will take place tomorrow (Wednesday).
"ISIS are today's Nazis," said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a meeting with Holocaust survivors from the Yad Ezer association to a member of Arab Zion, the international anniversary of Holocaust survivors. The Prime Minister hosted several dozen Holocaust survivors at his invitation in his office in Kirya in Tel Aviv and spent a long time listening to the stories of the survivors.
During the visit of the survivors, Netanyahu heard from the CEO of the Yad Ezer association, member Shimon Sabeg, an explanation of the association's warm house where over 100 needy Holocaust survivors live, and also of the assistance the association provides to hundreds of Holocaust survivors in the north.
Netanyahu listened with endless patience to almost all the Holocaust survivors who were hosted in his office, and he was especially moved by the extraordinary story of 97-year-old Sashona Kolmer, who lives in Beit Ham after he managed to escape from the Auschwitz extermination camp.
The event offered a climax when Kolmer rolled up her sleeve and showed Netanyahu the number stamped on her arm.
Netanyahu replied, "I will never forget this number." He added: "I am the first to put the Holocaust as a symbol of what happened and what must not be repeated."
Netanyahu spoke about the strength that the State of Israel needs to demonstrate against elements such as Daesh and Iran, who are today's Nazis.
We need to remember the holocaust not forget and remind the world that even today there are those who want to exterminate us.
"Memory is important, but the day-to-day struggle in the world is no less important and necessary, and I fight for it every day."
Shimon Sebag presents to the Prime Minister a painting painted by Holocaust survivor artist Mania Herman, a resident of the Beit Hamam.
The ability to act against those who come to destroy our people.
I think the terrible thing is that seventy years after the Holocaust, there are still those who rise up to try to consume us. The difference is that since we have a country, we have a government and we have an army, we know that we have one mission: to prevent another holocaust - and that is what we are doing.

That's all the difference. The whole difference in Jewish existence is that today we have a state that can repel the attacks on our people, but unfortunately, you bear the terrible price
of that lack.
I know what hardships you went through, what torments you went through, and you made it through this hell. I want to say
To you that when I see you, I see you, and you, and I say: The people of Israel live. Our duty is to ensure that we continue to live.
That's my job.
I was in Yad Vashem and said that my job as prime minister is not only to commemorate our brothers
and our sisters who perished in the Holocaust.

Secondly, the attacks on the Jews that reached their climax in the Holocaust, attacks do not stop, what has changed is our ability, of
Your children, your grandchildren, your great-grandchildren. That's why I bring up the memory of the Holocaust every time, first of all so that it doesn't
We will forget, and secondly, so that others will never have to go through what you went through. Therefore for me these stories are not only
Memory is an imperative - no more. First of all we will protect ourselves"
Then he turned to Sabag "Apart from that, I also hope that you will enjoy the fact that not only do we have a country, but also that we have a country with good people, people who love you, like this wonderful association, and the work that you do, Shimon [Shimon Sabag, the founder of the association], and you also do Yes. I want you to know that, in your story, you encapsulate the entire story of the revival of the people of Israel. I want you to think about it every day. It does not come without heavy prices, you know that. I also hear your story from my sister who accompanies Holocaust survivors and me Sending you her love and blessings too. I love you very much.
The meeting was planned for about fifteen minutes, but Netanyahu asked to hear more and more from the Holocaust survivors, and for a long hour he sat alert and attentive to the chilling stories. Netanyahu thanked Sebag and the association's volunteers at the end of the meeting.
"You volunteers and your association and other associations help the survivors of the Holocaust and for that you will be blessed."
