Lt. Y. from Haifa received his flight wings in the 183 pilot course

Flight wings were awarded to Lieutenant Y. from Haifa

A wing ceremony, in which the flight wings were awarded to the graduates of the 183rd pilot course, was held yesterday (Wednesday, 22.12.21) at the air force base in Hasteri. The wings of flight were awarded to 39 aircrew men and women, who will form the operational spearhead of the IDF and will lead the Air Force's missions in the years to come.

The ceremony was held in the presence of the President of the State, Mr. Yitzhak Herzog, the Minister of Defense, Mr. Benny Gantz, the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Aviv Kochavi and for the last time, with the participation of the current commander of the Air Force, General Amikam Norkin.

The graduation ceremony was held at the end of three years of training the cadets as combat officers, as air crews and as bachelor's degree graduates from Ben Gurion University of the Negev. We can reveal to you that one of the graduates of the 183 pilot course that ended last night is Lt. Y., 21 years old, a resident of Haifa and he has three brothers. Lieutenant Y attended high school in Haifa, where he studied computer science and economics. In his spare time, Deputy Y likes to play football.

After the exciting ceremony of awarding the flight wings, Lt. Y.:

After passing the screenings and starting the initial phase of the course, from the moment I started flying, I realized that I was in the right place for me.

For the meeting with the commander of the Air Force, Major General Amikam Norkin where the graduates bring a figure who influenced them in their lives, Lieutenant Y. is going to bring his grandmother, for him this is an opportunity to thank her for supporting him and to tell her how much he appreciates her.

Lieutenant J. successfully completed the 183 pilot course as a helicopter pilot. Good luck and good luck in the future, we live here - the news corporation is proud of you!

The current ceremony was held in recognition of the transport system, with an emphasis on the Rhino aircraft system - a system with a rich and glorious heritage, leading operational, national and humanitarian missions that took part in special operations such as "Operation Solomon" and "Operation Jonathan", in which the air crews successfully completed their mission at great risk Haim.

From the words of the President of the State, Mr. Yitzhak Herzog:

"Many actions and many operations for which silence is beautiful, prove the ability of our Air Force to reach anywhere in any situation, both during war or operation, and - and sometimes even more so - in the persistent and important war known as the Air Force - the campaign between the wars, in which The air successfully plays an indispensable role. This ability is even more important to us at this time, when these very days the Iranian octopus continues to send arms all over the Middle East. Iran is a ticking time bomb that threatens Israel and the entire family of nations. This issue is agreed upon among Israeli society and among its leadership. I follow the negotiations going on around the nuclear agreement, and call on the international community not to be fooled and not to underestimate the seriousness of the threat. The Iranian nuclear threat must be neutralized once and for all, with or without an agreement. Iran must not be allowed to obtain a nuclear capability."

From the words of the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Aviv Kochavi:

Dear officers - you have become air crew fighters but first and foremost you are officers. You have become officers in the Air Force, and as such, you now belong to the first line of defense of the IDF and the State of Israel. A clear example of this is the precise and rapid activity of the IDF forces, the Shin Bet and the police in the last week that led to the capture of the terrorists who carried out the terrorist attack in Samaria. I I send my condolences to the Dimentman family and strengthen them. The good are first of all the fighters. The good are measured first and foremost by their willingness to contribute to the country, the good are measured by their willingness to risk their lives to protect other people. This is the expression and combination of the concept of the good, don't take it from us and don't play it ".

Chief of Staff Kochavi added:
"A country that faces many threats and in six arenas at the same time, knows how to appreciate and cherish first and foremost its fighters, it knows how to say out loud - the best are first of all the fighters. Dear air crew fighters, you are the best who stand up for the defense of the people and the country. You are the best who join the campaign the daily defense, the weekly campaign to destroy threats in the entire arena, and the extensive operation once in a while. I await your safe return from every training and every operation. You are the best and I trust you.

From the words of the Commander of the Air Force, General Amikam Norkin:

"In the past year, the Air Force operated on a wide scale in a variety of arenas and ranges. We dealt a severe blow to those who rose up to threaten us in the Gaza Strip, when we fought in Operation "Guardian of the Walls", with powerful and precise air power. Throughout the year, our planes and fighters fulfilled the strategic goals of the State of Israel in the northern arena while Repeated breakthroughs.

Along with the operational threats and challenges, there are also strategic opportunities in front of us. The Air Force, which carries on one wing a lethal and precise capability, these days brings on the other wing the good news of aerial, regional and global cooperation. Air cooperation is a bridge to regional stability and a key to our ability to build the force, operate operationally and be an asset for Israeli policy.

Graduates, in a few moments I will put on your wings and you will join the team of Air Force fighters. This is a team that requires a personal example, research without compromise, professionalism, evil and the way of the land. Today, when this is the last parade of wings that I will participate in as commander of the corps, I feel even more strongly the burden of responsibility placed on our shoulders. Responsibility for the defense of the people and the country, and strengthening the security of the state. I know that the challenges of the future will be more complex, and when I look at you I feel complete confidence that you will know how to carry the tasks of the corps on your shoulders. Together we can face any challenge. Graduates - I am very proud of you, I love you very much, go up and succeed."
