Anastasia Gorbenko from Kiryat Bialik is the first Israeli world champion in 50m breaststroke!
Olympic swimmer Anastasia Gorbenko, 18 years old, who is also one of ours from the "Maccabi Kiryat Bialik" team, continued in Abu Dhabi today (Friday, 17/12/21) to accumulate and break all the records and brings great honor to the State of Israel!
Gorbenko registers a tremendous and unimaginable achievement already in her first final at the World Championship in short pools when she wins the 50 meter breaststroke final and sets a huge result of 29.34 seconds and thus she is crowned the world champion.
Gorbenko is also the first Israeli to obtain this prestigious title. In addition, tomorrow, Saturday (18/12/21), Gorbenko is supposed to continue competing in the World Championships in the 100 individual medley qualifiers as well.

In her first ever final at the world championships, Gorbenko wins the gold medal and becomes world champion. This is a huge achievement for the resume of the 18-year-old swimmer, when just in the last year she won the title of European champion twice, both in short and long pools. It should also be added that immediately after the competition in Abu Dhabi, Anastasia Gorbenko is supposed to enlist in the IDF.
