"We will make sure to reduce emissions by 3% within 50 years"
This is what Environmental Protection Minister Avi Gabbai said in a meeting with activists of the Kulanu party.
"The relationship with the territory will continue to strengthen"
This week there was a meeting of the "Haifai Forum" of the Kulanu Party with the Minister of Environmental Protection Avi Gabbai.
Dozens of party activists were present at the meeting, and Minister Gabbay reviewed his activities in the office, referring in detail to the problems of environmental quality in the Haifa Bay.
The meeting opened with the blessings of Moshe Ran "the elder of the tribe" who said that all the activists have been accompanying Moshe Kahlon for many years and there is not one of them that Moshe Kahlon does not know personally.
Minister Gabbay He described to the activists the actions of the Ministry of Environmental Protection in the Haifa Bay: "It is not a simple story, there is a huge industrial load here.
And you can see it with your eyes, we will make sure to reduce emissions by 3% within 50 years, we invest a lot of money and energy here and do the best we can and we have the best cooperation of all, So if we don't succeed it means I didn't succeed".
Later, the minister presented the main points of the plan he is leading to reduce air pollution in Haifa Bay.
"The issue of environmental quality in the Haifa Bay is one of the most burning issues for the residents of the area and it was the necessary step that the first meeting of the activists in "Kulana" took place.
One of the goals of the forum is to stimulate an unmediated dialogue between the elected officials and activists on the ground who can convey their assessments and impressions in an open conversation at "eye level" without the filters of the media and professionals, says Avi Ovadia, chairman of Kulanu's "Haifai Forum".
Yossi Essig and David Peso, one of the party's most prominent activists, brought up to the minister the fact that after the elections there was no close contact with the members of the Knesset and the ministers and it seemed that they had all disappeared.
Eli Debi added: "We are a new party, so more investment is needed compared to old parties."
Gabbay along with the party's CEO Yoav Raphael replied that they agree that the relationship with the field was weak and this is due to the fact that immediately after the formation of the coalition the ministers took up their positions and the members of the Knesset were required to have a very tight coalition discipline in addition to their full presence in the Knesset, very soon field activity will also begin.
"The activity of the "Haifai Forum" is a very welcome thing and I wish there was an activity like this in the whole country," said Yoav Raphael, the CEO of the party.
Minister Gabbay concluded: Our job is to bring achievements to the public and meet our commitments to the voters and we are starting to see fruits in all the issues that the Kulanu party handles.
