The maritime police unit of the Israel Police was called to the Haifa Bay, upon receiving a report at Moked 100 about fear for human life, when the windsurfer was observed in distress, being swept away quickly due to strong gusts of wind from the east to the west of the sea.
In the meantime, the maritime police team of the Coastal District began searching for the surfer until he was located about a kilometer from the Palm Beach in Acre.
The policemen of the unit rescued the surfer, a 48-year-old resident of the center of the country, from the water and brought him to Mvittaim Beach, after he did not need medical treatment.
The police emphasize the importance of safe bathing and surfing in the sea, emphasizing:
♦️ Surfing alongside partners as much as possible.
♦️ You left a contact on the beach.
♦️ Carrying a mobile phone in a waterproof facility.
♦️ Wise surfing close and transverse to the coastline, allowing independent return.
When strong easterly winds are blowing, the police recommend not to risk entering the sea with boats, kayaks, windsurfers and SUPs
Kudos to the maritime police who rescued the windsurfer. Good luck. Shabbat Shalom
