What happened to my requests from the mayor?
There is a reason for the tremors! The message running through this week's parsha 'Mektz' is that the challenges are part of the overall picture whose end result is good, and our request is to see the good right now!
Candle lighting in Haifa: 16:03
Shabbat left 17:13
In recent years, thanks to my involvement in the development of the institutions in Haifa, I submitted many requests to the mayor - in emails, letters and faxes as well as orally, by various public figures.
Unfortunately though, most of the inquiries have not yet been answered. But this week I got an answer to everything...
During the ceremony of saluting the messengers and messengers of the Rebbe King of the Messiah in the city of Haifa and the lighting of the Hanukkah candle in the city hall, I invited the mayor to say a blessing.
The mayor talked about the light of the Hanukkah candles and in particular those of the Rebbe's emissaries - which give her the strength to see the light in everything and further down the road and emphasized how necessary Chabad's activity is for the city.
Among other things, the mayor talked about the number of inquiries and discussions she holds on these matters and how much she tries very hard for us, and hopes that in BAZ everything will turn out for the best. I understood very well the great difficulty she and the municipality have in dealing with the challenges on the way, at home and abroad.
I understood that although the good result has not yet arrived, the matters and discussions are ongoing. And with the help of Dashmia and the strength of the Rebbe, everything will work out and we will succeed in all good deeds!
Hanukkah ceremony of the "Yad Labanim" organization
This week I also participated in the Hanukkah ceremony of the "Yad Labanim" organization for bereaved families, along with the lighting of Hanukkah candles, and I was asked to say words of blessing.
It is not easy to speak in front of such families and to try to lift their spirits, but this is clear - because there is someone who is leading the world, and the things that seem illogical to us now and perhaps also 'unjust' (HO), are because we do not see the overall picture, because Everything has a reason and the end result will surely be seen by all of us.
And despite this, we ask God even now to see the good openly and tangibly.
A wonderful and special story
I heard a wonderful and special story on the subject from my uncle Rabbi Levy Yitzchak Ginzburg, the late, you can read it In the link here.
Parsha of the week 'Mektz'
In this week's parsha 'Mektz' we pay attention to the many difficulties that Jacob's family is going through. Yosef's brothers are forced to go down to Egypt to beg for food, are suspected of being spies and finally have to go down again, until the end of the story about finding Yosef's cup in the bag of Benjamin, the younger brother. In fact, Yosef 'tartrates them' all the way.
Joseph's purpose in his behavior and alienation from his brothers was so that they would regret their actions and repent, so he put an end to the alienation and got to know them.
At the same time Jacob also goes through twenty-two years, unbearably difficult, of pain and a living and bleeding wound. During these years Jacob does not know about Yosef's location and his remaining alive.
Why did Joseph not inform his father that he was still alive?
A very difficult question is asked here - why didn't Yosef inform his father that he was still alive, and would have soothed him from his severe mourning? Is this a father's treat?
The Rebbe King of the Messiah elaborates on the matter, because indeed following a boycott by the tribes at the time of the sale of Yosef, the Holy One, blessed be He, did not reveal to Jacob that Yosef was alive, and because of this, Yosef also realized that at this time it was not for him to give such information to his father, even though he very much longed for it. in his love for him.
Only later, when he saw his brothers repenting of their actions and Judah's words, "Because your servant betrothed the boy" did he understand that the time had come for a revelation.
What was really the reason that Jacob did not know this?
There is a famous explanation, that Jacob was punished for leaving his parents - Isaac and Rebekah - for 22 years, during which he was on the road and working for Laban, and therefore did not know about Yosef's existence for 22 years.
see the overall picture
Be that as it may, in this week's Parshath we see that sometimes it is difficult for us and perhaps not possible to see the overall picture, which creates for us a picture of challenges, difficulties and struggles that we do not always manage to understand.
The light defeats the darkness
Along with this, the miracle of Hanukkah, which we celebrate these days, shows that the light overcomes the darkness, and that belief in the righteousness of the path brings with it success and meeting challenges while understanding that everything has a good reason, which leads to an even better result.
Thursday in Tevet, the Rebbe's holiday
Next week we will celebrate the Day of the Lord in Tevet, the holiday of the Rebbe and the holiday of all Hasidim. The day when it was determined in the US Federal Court that the books in the Rebbe's library are no longer family property that can be inherited, God forbid, into foreign hands, but "the Rebbe and the books belong to the Hasidim".
In the year and a half in which the court hearings were conducted - there were not easy challenges and difficulties, which raised the question "why and why is this necessary".
In the end it turned out that it was after the trial that the Rebbe's words and his books were given the greatest validity, which proves that the Rebbe and his words are eternal. And as the Rebbe said, "May the spirit of Jacob their father live", the result made the Rebbe very happy.
From then until today, the Hasidic celebrate the Lord Tevet as a day in which "didan netzach" (=ours won) and the joy breaks all boundaries.
May the Almighty grant that soon and immediately we will already see the true and complete redemption openly, then we will understand that all the troubles and challenges for the past thousands of years are not only "for the better" but really good, and it will be said, "Thank you, O Lord, because you are sighing at me, turn your nose and comfort me", at the coming of Rebbe Mashiach We were right today.
Shabbat Shalom and a good month.
Have a happy and bright Hanukkah holiday!
PS – A fascinating trip and a fun day
This coming Monday we will go on a fascinating trip and a fun day at the Rebbe's home in Kfar Chabad, Bethlehem, Hebron and the Cave of the Patriarchs.
This is a great opportunity for a unique spiritual experience.
I don't know if we will return again for such a high level trip.
I would love to see you with us
Congratulations Rabbi Yehuda Ginzburg for lighting a Hanukkah in Haifa Municipality with the participation of the Mayor of Haifa Dr. Einat Kalish Rotem. Well done. The holiday of miracles and wonders. I light a Hanukkah every day at my house in Delait El Carmel. Happy Hanukkah.
