The Oranim parking lot, which burned down in the past and was closed for restoration, will be reopened, maintained by the boarding school's trainees and graduates, and will be dedicated to the 135 survivors of the military boarding schools in Haifa and Tel Aviv who fell in the hands of Israel.
The Nature and Parks Authority and the Association of Military Boarding School Alumni have agreed on cooperation, the main purpose of which is to renovate the "Oranim" parking lot in Carmel Park for the benefit of the public.
As part of the plan, sitting areas, observation points and access roads will be established in the parking lot and the old toilet building will be rebuilt. In addition, the site will later be accessible for the disabled as well.

The Oranim parking lot burned down in a fire that occurred in 2005. With its restoration, it will be possible to establish a well-maintained parking lot sequence, from the Talalim parking lot in the west to the Anemone parking lot in the east.
Apprentices and boarding school students will be involved in the maintenance and conservation work of the parking lot as part of the community activity that has been practiced at the military boarding school for many years. The planning of the site is carried out voluntarily by the landscape architect Yehuda Farhi.

The commander of the boarding school Col. Bamil Eran Makov:
The trainees of the military boarding school have the great privilege of taking part in the project that connects the boarding school to its heritage as the command reserve of the IDF since 1953. We are proud to have found a way on the one hand to perpetuate the spaces of the boarding school and its heritage and on the other hand to create a project that all residents of Haifa and the surrounding area will be able to enjoy
"Park Carmel considers it very important to organize additional places to visit throughout the park that can provide a service to the many visitors and expose them to the wonderful nature and landscape around us in Carmel," said the director of Carmel Park, Eyal Cohen. "The cooperation with the apprentices and trainees of the military boarding school and their willingness to work and cultivate the place with their own hands is important like nothing else for connecting to nature in general, to the place in particular and to ourselves as a better society."
This parking lot must be restored. Good night
