  1. The path that has already been described, on the north bank of Nahal Shih, was marked with white signs (in my opinion too crudely), and is called the Yaftah Path. The path is also controlled by handsome wooden signs.
    unfortunately:
    1. The steps leading from the garden to the path were covered with stone only in a small section adjacent to the garden and below it, but it seems that the coating will be completed.
    2. The gate between the garden and the path is still locked, although it is possible to go down the stairs without any problem.

  2. How do you already know that they won't look at a beautiful stone? Not that I do know.

  3. Now they are building stairs going down from Magen Yiftah, to the path that goes under the garden towards the east. The path to the east has been completely broken into (thanks to the burglars, let's hope they identify themselves).
When going east, at no point is there a need to go up to Ra'anan street or forward. Towards the end of the path at its eastern end, it passes under and adjacent to the courtyards of houses. It then descends not so steeply towards the river channel. After a few meters downhill, the trail splits. The place of the split is a rock that descends to the left of the path and cuts the path. It is not advisable to continue the descent which ends in a rock at a height of about two meters above the Nahal Shikh channel. Instead, turn left, climb the rock at the split, pass under a large agave cactus, and again go down a fairly moderate slope, until you reach the stream channel and opposite you see a large rock. Here the path connects with the Nahal Shih path marked black. The rock is located close to the beginning of the Nahal Shih route, and close to the Herzl school.

  4. 1. In light of the great interest and pleas of the audience, below is a description of how you can get off Ra'anan street into Wadi Shih and reach Ein Mashtotim. The shortest way is through the stairs on the right (when standing in front of) the building on Raanan Street 3. Go down the stairs that meet the perpendicular path. Turn right (west) on the path. Continue until you reach the remains of a water storage pool, from Bitton. After passing the pool for only about a meter, you can go down the path that continues west, to another path that is somewhat lower. The lower path descends diagonally towards the opening of the wadi (west) and towards the bottom of the wadi. This trail runs more or less along the route of the water pipe that brought the water from a kind of bush to Carmel. The remains of the pipe can be seen. This path is narrow but clear. You have to walk along it carefully until you reach the bottom of the wadi near a small dam. There you can cross over to the other bank a little before (to the east) of Ein Moshitim. From there you can continue west to Ein Shikh and Bostan.

    2. You can also go down the stairs near the sign to the right of the building in Ra'an 29. Go down the stairs that meet with the path perpendicular to them. Turn the path to the left (east), until you reach the storage pond. And from there I already explained.

    3. You can also go down from Magen Yaftah. We go down a slightly steep path for a short distance and there we turn to the left (east), until we reach the intersection with the stairs that come down from Ra'anan Street 29. And from there I have already explained.

  5. Certainly this adds to the general neglect of what could have been one of the must-see tourist sites in the city.
Just can't believe how many beautiful plans there were and they all stayed in the drawers.
Every mayor in the elections - promises and is elected - neglects.
The promises to restore the orchard, to set up a stage there, to renovate the stairs that lead up
Makes it more likely that they will be safe and more and more promises and everything stays in the drawer..

  6. Despite the poor viewing here, I decided to write more things about the northern bank of the wadi. A few houses before (when coming from the beginning of the street) Gan Yefatah, someone irresponsible placed an official sign next to the building on Ra'anan Street 29. The sign points towards the wadi and reads "Nahal Shih" on it, any reasonable traveler (I do not write subject since I assume that travelers who are not under the rule of Yonah Yahav), may understand that the wadi can be reached by a route starting at the stairs next to the sign, and from there more or less straight into the wadi channel. But this is not the case, the continuation down is a steep slope that reaches the area of the white rock, above and around the Komatiim cave. Anyone who tries to go directly down is just taking a risk.
If someone explains to me how it is possible to reach the wadi directly without risk, I will immediately apologize for the irresponsible nickname.
Since the stairs connect to the path that I have already described that comes out of Magen Yaftah, even with the help of this path leading east, it is not possible to get into the gorge. Since below the Yiftah Garden, the path also continues along the ridge to the west, I hoped that this way it would be possible to reach the bottom. I checked this path and was disappointed. The path becomes narrow, at one point you have to pass through a thicket of Eilat gum and a fig tree, and immediately after that the path ends under one of the houses in Kabir. There is no way out. The downward slope is quite steep.

  7. I waited and waited and unfortunately there was no response. Since it doesn't seem likely to me that the recommended path (which is not marked) leads along the entire wadi bank to the Herzl School, I went to see what was happening in the field. Indeed, as I feared, the respected recommender does not really know what he is talking about. The gate at the beginning of the route is actually locked by a rather large lock, not that it is impossible to pass over the fence. The path itself is indeed on the northern bank of the wadi and leads up the wadi, but at one point I encountered a dead end of thick vegetation. It seems that the entire path has not yet been prepared Since I didn't want to get entangled in the thicket, and didn't want to go down directly into the gorge, I decided to go back a short distance, and go up the neglected stairs that connect the path to the sidewalk near the house on Raanan Street 3.
If someone can contradict me I would appreciate it.
The short route is recommended, it is easy to walk and most of it is shaded. The track gives a different vantage point on the wadi and the southern bank opposite. At least in the morning you can hear the chirping of the birds all the way. In several places you can still see the remains of the pipe that raised the water from Ein Sheikh, as well as the remains of a storage pool.

  8. And I suggest Legal Katzir, that instead of standing and giving a speech, take himself and the photographer and do the route... there is enough to photograph on the route.
And I must correct: they write Bostan!

  9. Yona Yahav promised in the elections on the stage of Cinematech Haifa in front of 300 residents to renovate Wadi Sheikh as a tourist site.
Two years have passed, not only has nothing been renovated, but there is illegal construction there, photos of which have been shown here on the website.
Now its spokesperson's toy site lists it as an attraction. This is how a city of work runs with the eyes.
