At the same time, the preparations continue for the international sailing championship in model 420 sailboats, in the framework of which hundreds of sailors from Israel and from 40 countries will be hosted in Haifa, including the top sailors in the world.

The holding of the competition in Haifa is an international recognition of Israel at a time when there is a critical atmosphere towards the country embargoed by
International organizations that refuse to come to Israel. This strengthens the position of the State of Israel as a sailing power and of the city of Haifa as a water sports city.
For the purpose of holding the world championship, the quiet beach will be closed for swimming between the dates of July 5
until August 1. During this period, an alternative bathing beach will be used by the religious community.
