The new matron of the Superbus company is starting • 15/10/21

The new matron joins the public transportation revolution • New lines, green energy and an improved travel experience • Starting Friday 15/10/21

Watch the video - the matron is renewed

The beating heart of mobility in the urban space Superbus company

On Friday 15/10/2021 Superbus will start operating Haifa Matron:

  1. State-of-the-art metros and vehicles powered by green energy
  2. New lines and expanding the scope of service by 50%
  3. 121 modern matrons will replace the 100 matrons currently operating
  4. Electric articulated buses that provide a fast and quiet ride
  5. Articulated buses that comply with the strict "Euro 6" standard
  6. Validation devices inside the matronies
  7. In the future, 2 new travel lines will be added to the metro route

A wide envelope for metropolitan passengers

On Friday, October 15, 2021, 2021th of the XNUMXth of October XNUMX, Superbus, the public transportation company from the Belilius group, will start operating the Matron in Haifa, thanks to its winning the tender in February XNUMX. This will be the first beat within the tender, during which the company will start operating the three existing Matron lines , which have been operated so far by the Dan company. In the future, another pulse is planned, in which Superbus is expected to add two new lines to the matron line network.

Bus rapid transit - Bus rapid transit

The Metroni is a rapid bus transportation project, or in English Bus rapid transit, the first and only one of its kind in Israel. What is known all over the world as BRT and has been copied to hundreds of cities in different countries, was launched in Haifa in 2013.

The Matron consists of fast articulated buses that move on designated routes and transport the residents of the area and its visitors to Kiryat, Haifa Bay, the Lower City, Hadar and West Haifa, and is in high demand among the population. Thanks to Matron, those coming from inside and outside the metropolis can also use the "Hanna and Ride" service - parking the private car at the entrance to Haifa and continuing to move easily and quickly in the metropolis using Matron.

Its unique characteristics make the matron an efficient, accessible and environmentally friendly means of transportation, which serves as the heartbeat of mobility in the urban space. Throughout the year, the matron is expected to transport more than 20 million passengers throughout the Haifa metropolis.

Lines that will continue to operate without change

So far, there are three lines operating in the Matron system, which Superbus will start operating in mid-October. the lines these will be left unchanged:

  • Line 1 - the red line: from the Kiryat center in the north of the Kiryat to the Carmel beach center, will continue to operate as usual every day and time of the week, even on Saturdays, in a 24/7 format.
  • Line 2 - the blue line: from Kiryat Ata to the Haifa Bat Galim train station.
  • Line 3 - the green line: from the Kiryat Center to Hadar Carmel.

More lines will be activated soon

Also within the terms of the tender, and looking to the future, the Superbus franchise is expected to add and operate two new metro lines in the line network, including:

  • Line 4 - the tunnel line, which will connect the cities of the Kiryats with the Hoof Carmel central station at the exit from Haifa, through the Carmel tunnels.
  • Line 5 - metroline line to the city of Nesher, which will connect the Yagur intersection through the Bar-Yehuda axis in Nesher, to the Hadar neighborhood in Haifa.

Environmental news

Meanwhile, and as part of its entry into the operation of the matron, Superbus will replace the 100 matrons currently operating in the array, in 121 new matrons. This change also brings with it environmental news - for the first time, vehicles powered by alternative energy will be added to the Matron fleet, and 40% of the vehicle fleet will consist of 50 environmentally friendly electric articulated buses, which provide a faster and quieter travel experience. The rest of the fleet will be operated using 71 articulated buses that meet the strict "Euro 6" standard. All vehicles are accessible and adapted for people with disabilities.

Improving the public transportation service in the entire Haifa metropolis

Ya'akov Israel Netanyahu, Director of the National Public Transportation Authority:
"Haifa Metropolis is facing a new era of public transportation. The coming year will bring with it new lines that will significantly improve the public transportation service in the entire metropolis. These days, a move is underway that includes a series of new lines, including an innovative and advanced cable car. And, the renewed Matron and the two lines that will be added as part of it In the not-too-distant future. We are working by all means to give you, therefore, high-quality, efficient and advanced public transportation, which will allow you to leave your private car at home, saving time, money and headaches."

Tzachi Neve, CEO of Superbus:
We are happy to activate the new matron. Besides the role of quality transportation systems to move people from place to place efficiently, they have a significant value in the social and economic development of the metropolis. Therefore, Superbus is proud to take part in this complex and challenging project, and continue to establish the city's beating dog matron. As a company that operates the transport system in the Eshkol Haemakim, we feel and recognize the needs of 'passenger service' at a high level. We will do everything to ensure that public transportation passengers in the metropolis will benefit from this service and a real upgrade of their transportation system.

  1. Originally it was an idea, but in practice there is a lot of people in the morning, the Pims have to wait fifteen minutes for the matron, and at 4 o'clock, when they finish work, the matron arrives at the Vulcan intersection, it is already full, it is about number 1, and sometimes there are 3 matrons waiting so that I can get on

  2. Have a good and safe trip
    Drive wisely
    Increase vigilance
There is no rush on the road
We are all in an effort to preserve life

  3. The difference between what was and what is now, the air conditioners work at full power and freeze and the drivers say they will lower the power, so they said.
The matrons come in bundles of 3, the first one is blown, the rest are empty instead of being divided into different times.
The announcement is annoying and constantly repeating itself.
    Problems with the doors.
Matron 2 broke the record of Dan matrons when at its second stop in Kiryat Ata towards Haifa (Moshe Hess Street) it got stuck.
    ....
Two single changes for the better:
    1. It is possible to attack in the matron itself and we hope that this too will not break down over time.
    2. You can ring the bell and it doesn't stop at every station like Dan matronies that stopped even if there were no passengers and no alighters. In the hope that corruption (vandalism) will not force them to stop as was done in the Dan matronies.
    recommendation:
Permanent inspectors with arresting powers like police officers to prevent violence against mainly elderly passengers and corruption.

  4. From several trips I've made - pros and cons:
Advantages: Validation inside the bus, more comfortable seats, there is air conditioning, much quieter: no announcement in 3 languages, the annoying sound when the door opens (this alarm - EYE...), quieter electric drive.
Disadvantages: a little less wide than Dan's matron - more crowded, and the "stop" button: instead of the matron stopping each station, it only stops when pressed - this is a disadvantage because it causes 2 matrons to arrive at the station together, makes people stand to press, and in general people miss the station. By the way, this is one of the things that distinguished the matron from the other buses, the accuracy of its times is relatively good when the matron stops at each station in advance, it's a shame they don't work correctly.

  5. It's great that there are new buses, it's just a shame that we don't see them... This morning we waited 25 minutes for line 1, which was slow to arrive and when it arrived it was already full of course (bus 1 instead of three...).
This happened several times this week. So maybe you should start by making sure that enough buses arrive and that they arrive on time....

  6. One word: good luck.
I hope that you will do the same as in the busses with pressure gauges inside the matrons as well and that the problems with the doors that "don't" close will not be your property either.
Another thing, sometimes older people get up to the matron and it's hard for them to walk/run, so unlike in the Dan matrons, the drivers will show more patience and tolerance and not slam the doors in their faces.
And another small detail, to the store as close as possible to the sidewalk, there are people with disabilities who try to do a "spaghat" in order to enter is not always successful for them.
And last, last but not least, that the driver will notice if everyone has left and not close the door for them, because just as there are some who find it difficult to walk and enter, it is sometimes difficult for them to get up and leave and even more so with the matron crowded.
    Thanks.
    Dvir

  7. The only solution is: to remove any trace of a car carrying passengers that burns diesel. Taking out 100 vehicles and bringing in 71 diesel-burners is not an adequate solution. There are more efficient alternatives and the city will have to compete with the 200 billion shekels that the center invested effectively.
Today the world is electric. In every modern city, one thinks not only of the day, it is impossible that right now the mayor's office is thinking of a diesel with the mark 6.

  8. I saw, I drove, I was impressed. The main renovation is the placement of validation devices inside the matrons.

  9. Everyone only cares about modern vehicles, but no one cares about the fact that drivers who worked for 8 years at the Dan company left and were simply thrown out and had to be rehired without seniority, without the regular arrangement and with deteriorating conditions, a state project that the state simply ignores the workers who will operate it until now and the people simply have no choice Agree to everything that is required of them because if not you simply won't work. pure shame

    • You are 1000 percent right, at the time an agreement was signed that the drivers of the matron would enter into the collective agreement and so it was. And today the Israeli government does not recognize this agreement. I am sure that if Israel Katz or Miri Regev were Ministers of Transportation it would be different. It's a shame that it's so heartbreaking for the drivers who gave their souls at work and today no one is there for them. Today it's a matron, tomorrow it's another vital place. Good luck to you and all the drivers.

    • You are absolutely right
There is a new transport server
      Establish a committee.
Even if you don't manage to deal with the issue backwards, at least you can make sure it doesn't happen again if Superbus doesn't continue in the future
      It depends on you!!

    • If the passengers showered at least once a day then the matrons wouldn't stink. On line 3 at the Yalga station around 16:00 p.m., passengers always come in, may God forgive me, but in the Torah it is not written that you should not shower every day. And those who understand will understand exactly which population I am referring to. Anyone who regularly travels on line 3 during these hours knows exactly what I am writing about.

  10. I hope the new buses will "talk" less.

The internal announcement system is intolerable.
Every five seconds an announcement. Exits the station and announces what the next station will be and a few seconds later announces that he is at the next station and returns, God forbid.
    And what a volume….

    • Announcement on the bus is mandatory according to the accessibility law
This is how it is in every bus, train or other means of transportation all over the world and also in Matron
It's a shame that it doesn't really work in all matronies

    • Well, Dan's matron is right, she just didn't stop talking, it was too much announcement. Besides that, there was that annoying sound of the door closing and the engine screeching... an electric matron, with a door that opens quietly, without unnecessary announcements, and indeed you can attack inside the matron without fighting with the old-fashioned device outside, how many times have I missed a matron because of it...

  11. Good luck. I really hope it won't be crowded and there will be a limit on the number of passengers. Because in the previous matron I felt like on buses in India

  12. In Be'er Sheva they are working on a light rail like in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and here in Haifa and the Kiryat Metropolis of almost a million citizens they let us travel on smelly carriages accordion bus they tell us this is the new revolution...how are they working on us with the face that they will go to hell...only a light rail in Kiryat in Haifa will be accepted nothing else Will we be accepted!!!!!!??!???

    • Odi, let's see when the light rail in Tel Aviv will be activated and also let's see when we will get to ride the light rail in Beer Sheva. And for the northerners who are waiting for the light train from the center of the Gulf to the Galilee landscape, it will be just like the train to Eilat. When I was 5 years old, they said there would be a train to Eilat today. I'm a 56-year-old donkey and I'm still waiting to go to Eilat by train. Don't forget that we live in a land of promises from here on out. In short, you are right and I am right and Mrs. Israeli is right, but there are people in the Knesset who do not care about anything. Have a good day and have a nice trip.

  13. If you want to encourage public transportation, you should first of all make sure that the stations provide shade in the summer and shelter from the rain in the winter and that there are enough seats

  14. Well done, I use it all the time and congratulate the wonder of using the matron Yashar KH Yehudit
    in all lines

  15. Some of the validation devices don't work at all. At the station in Zabar in the direction of Haifa it hasn't worked for over half a year and no one is fixing it.

    • My daughter once received a one hundred shekel fine because the validation device did not work.
And in addition, the inspector dropped her off in the dark in front of the refineries.
She had monthly spatial leave so it's not like she traveled without paying.
      The appeal didn't help either.
We received an answer to the buyer: "It must be valid before every trip.

  16. Please don't forget Sderot Hanasi along its entire length, from the center of Carmel to the corner of Stella Maris. The public transportation that used to pass there once every 20 minutes to Hadar 23 or Haira 22 no longer exists and currently you need to change buses that come very infrequently.

  17. By the way, frequent traveler - you are wrong. The Street of the Prophets also does not contain the existing matrons of Line 3. They block and clog the street, making it difficult to turn around. The entire planning of the matron lines was a crazy and expensive failure of Yaffe Nof. They wasted a billion shekels over the original budget, made changes that later had to be corrected (turning the section from Herzl to the Prophets into a two-story one cost 6 million NIS in damage from the planning, and that's only one out of 3 that had to be corrected). The damage they did in the failed planning of the lines in Hadar is dwarfed by the planning failure of the Hoof HaCarmel center, which, due to its planning, kept tens of thousands of passengers away from public transportation, created long lines to and from the Carmel that made the timing of bus travel in Haifa impossible.
The "Kriyaot Central" you mentioned was supposed to be built in 2010. It is doubtful if it will be built in 2030 either. Everything in this country is channeled to finance the central state. And when planning in the north, it is a failed planning that does not optimize but rather is cumbersome and wastes money. This is how they will pour NIS 10 billion into a light rail line to Nazareth. just what? It has 40 stops, so it is fifteen minutes slower than buses today. Did you understand??
So show me a student from Nazareth, who today has a bus that takes him directly from Nazareth to the faculty at the Technion, who would prefer to take a slow light train to the center of the Gulf and there another 40 minutes by cable car followed by another XNUMX minutes walking to the faculty. The trip that takes him XNUMX minutes today will take at least an hour and a half after the "public transportation revolution" of the delusional and worst Ministry of Transportation in the world.
Then they will ask why they invested billions and the light rail to Nazareth is empty, and the cable car - the stupid failure does not work in the winter, and the students only continue to use the express bus lines from Nazareth to the Technion and are not ready to have their journey extended by 40 minutes to use the stupid gimmicks of failed projects of the Ministry of Transportation. Surely with the same crooked logic of canceling free competition in a country that claims to maintain it, they will cancel the direct bus lines to Nazareth, and then they can say that the slow and a hundred times more expensive light rail is a success because they canceled every competing bus line.
Illusory country, all that remains is to buy a private car and stand like everyone else in traffic jams out of trust in the Ministry of Transportation and its absurd "revolutions".
Let's start with the fact that the Carmelite, which already exists in Haifa, will work on Fridays and Saturdays in a regulated manner. Let's see Shatel Aroni from the Carmel and Noah Sha'anan to the stadium and the Romema Hall instead of huge traffic jams of thousands of vehicles every game. Let's see a bus-only route in Horev so that we can get public transportation that doesn't get stuck for half an hour with vehicles in traffic jams and you'll get priority. Go ahead, move your clerical ID.

  18. Mr. Netanyahu, the Haifa metropolis is stuck and the public transportation in it is failing and suffering from impossible neglect. The lines that served the Kiryats were abolished in a dictatorial manner to force passengers to take the crowded and slow vehicle called a metro, and travel only on one route in Kiryats and not enter any of them, thus harming the elderly population in Kiryats, some of whom bought a private car out of choice and some of whom pay a lot of money for taxis.
Also in the framework of "a new era of public transportation in the Haifa metropolis" there was a decline of tens of percent in the use of buses even before the corona virus (so this is not an excuse) in Haifa itself, due to overcrowding, long lines with which it is not possible to schedule arrival at the destination, which get stuck in traffic jams because there are no transportation routes within Haifa public. Those in Tel Aviv marked within a month with a few cans of paint.
And with us, 300 million NIS was wasted on a slow and stupid cable car, when there were express lines from the Kiryat to the campuses that were much more efficient, and surely they will also be canceled in order to once again force the public to take slow transportation, without air conditioning, and a quarter of an hour's walk away from the faculties, which also cannot operate at the university in the winter winds.
So no, there is no revolution in public transportation in Haifa. There is underinvestment, lack of planning, long lines, mismatch between lines to the train stations, the lack of direct express lines, the lack of shuttles to the beaches and stadiums that create huge traffic jams and thousands of vehicles in parking lots full to capacity because it is impossible to trust and rely on public transportation in Haifa.
Don't tell us about Superbus and Superman, while in the center of the country they are investing 150 billion NIS in the metro, and another 50 billion NIS in the light rail, in Haifa they threw us 3-4 articulated scrap lines that take longer to travel from Haifa to Kiryat than on the Egged lines before the matron.
But it is clear that Mr. Yaakov Netanyahu must be sitting in some air-conditioned office in Jerusalem in some government building and certainly doesn't bother to use the public transportation that his spokesman sent a text praising it on his behalf.

    • I read your words carefully. We hope to improve and always improve
For a good future for children. to the employees. for learners.
Especially for passengers who are unpleasant to say sometimes suffer more
Sometimes less depending on the time of travel and the season of the year.
For my personal inspection of line 1 that leaves from the Motzkin end
Near Motzkin Shopping Complex Vectors..until the end of the two-year line
on the Carmel beach. For 5 years on line 1
5 times a week. A successful line for workers and learners
and for bathing in the sea.
In conversations with passengers inside line 1
Writing to understand the client's needs
Successful line 1. And that's out of 5 years of documentation.
Hope only to see better and worse
Days will pass and we will know better
Good days everyone and we will succeed.

  19. I hope that the youth and young children will take care of it and not break it and litter it and stop putting their feet on the seats and the new upholstery and what a mess there will be with the attack will be on the bus itself and where will line 5 from Nesher Lahadar go?

  20. Matron!? What kind of life is this? There is a taxi and there is a metro... but a combination of both? It can not be! Why not use the Hebrew word? Bus! It's called a bus and it doesn't matter if it has one car or three cars...

  21. As someone who comes to Haifa to teach, I expect to see clean buses and not smelly buses without air conditioning like in matronies
    Successfully

  22. If the new autobobs will contain about 40 seats like the existing ones, we will get improved carriages and transport slaves

    • I drove a few times today.... Terrible start, very bad, lots of breakdowns, matrons don't arrive for nearly half an hour at the station, 4 arrive in Mecca when 3 are empty, lots of stops at traffic lights, long travel times, a half hour drive before took an hour today.

      Must improve quickly

  23. Warm greetings from a frequent traveler, Shapo!!!
    But some questions:
The Street of the Prophets barely contains matron 3, where will there be room for matron 5?
If I understand correctly, all matrons except matron 2 are supposed to leave the Kiryat center. From my only visit so far to this station, which was a few months ago, I got the impression that it was a parking lot improvised for a central station that barely provides shade in the summer and cover in the winter for passengers, but only a number of street or intersection stations and that's even before the new matrons - what's going on with that?
If I do a simple calculation, it turns out that in order to add more lines, it is necessary to divide the 121 new buses into five instead of three, which raises the question of whether this will not reduce the amount of buses at a given time, let's say a random hour.
There are probably more questions, but I'd love to get an answer.

  24. I hope they will also take care of the neglected stations, the digital signage that barely works both inside the matron and in the stations
Good luck to Superbus and all of us
